Caught this on the Western Channel... good flick. Definitely worth a look. The guy from Memento (literally, the guy... Guy Pearce) and Ray Winstone (The Departed) both are great. Strong acting and a creative story.
I finally saw this, and for a movie that was so hyped, I didn't find it all that funny. It had a couple of very funny parts, but it really wasn't all that great. As much as I love crude humor, I wasn't overly impressed with this one...
Odd Vince Vaughn flick that I ran across on IFC. Kept me interested, but it's not great. Worth checking out if you're a fan of Vaughn. Julia Ormond was very good (and very hot), too.
"The loudest person in the room is the weakest person in the room." - Frank Lucas. Very true. Very good movie. I hear Don Cheadle was considered for the lead, and though Denzel did well, I think Cheadle would have been better. I would liked to have seen more about Lucas and his real life relationship with Nicky Barnes (Cuba Gooding, Jr.'s character.) Russell Crowe was great, as usual. Good stuff.
Excellent action/drama. I think some people have scored it low because they go in expecting The Departed II, which is stupid, but I have seen people say that. It's not the Departed, but it's very, very good in its own right.
Went in expecting a good movie, came out with my jaw dropped to the floor. Best movie I have seen in a long time, and the best movie made in a number of years. Check out Infernal Affairs, the Chinese(?) subtitled version this one was based on, as well.
Probably the best acting job ever by anyone (De Niro's portrayal of Jake Lamotta, of course.) Forget Rocky or Bull Durham; this is the greatest sports movie of all time, but it's a lot more than that.
It's bombed out and depleted. Finding out Julia Roberts had a body double on top of the ridiculous premise of the movie takes it from 3/4 * to 1/2 *. Spend your $ on a Hulk Hogan flick... actually... don't do that, either.
A little better than I thought it would be, honestly. This is one of those "you know what to expect, you know the drill" kind of movies, but if you're in the mood for that, then it's worth spending the $ on...
People tried to copy the style, but no one ever recreated the masterpiece put together by Tarantino. Say what again? I dare you. I double dare you, mutha...
Worth the money to go watch this one, even if you don't like westerns. Christian Bale is one hell of an actor, and Russell Crowe is great as the morally ambiguous Ben Wade. Worth your $ and time!
