| The Seventh Seal (Det Sjunde inseglet) - Unrated | Talk about a haunting film. As expected, I really enjoyed this one. It's a pretty serious film, you know, being about death and all - but it isn't without hope. If you haven't watched this yet, do yourself a favor and rent it. | October 21, 2008 | N/A | |||

| Bend Of The River - Unrated | Not quite on the same level as the other Mann/Stewart westerns like The Man from Laramie or Winchester '73, but still a helluva great western, about two men with mysterious, but similar pasts. Well worth the watch. | November 6, 2007 | N/A | |||
| American Gangster - R | Definitely will go down in the books as a modern crime classic. | November 3, 2007 | N/A | |||
| A Fistful of Dynamite (Duck, You Sucker) (Gił la testa) - R | Finally saw it and it was well worth the wait. Sergio Leone was a god. There is no other way to explain it. | October 30, 2007 | N/A | |||
| Romeo Is Bleeding - R | Continuing my quest to see every film starring Gary Oldman, I wasn't left disappointed. I expected a good, not great, movie and that's what I got. Every time I see Oldman in a film, I'm just blown away by how he's able to manipulate his voice into creating a new, distinct accent for each role he takes on. It's just unmatched by anyone else in film history. The movie itself, outside of Oldman being awesome, is a decent crime-drama with an impressive supporting cast that include Lena Olin, Juliette Lewis, Roy Scheider, Will Patton, James Cromwell, and Ron Perlman. | October 28, 2007 | N/A | |||
| Lars and the Real Girl - PG-13 | Unlike much of anything that has come out in the past few years, Gosling took on a risky role in a unique script that very few could have pulled off - but, as expected, he DID pull it off. The supporting cast - Mortimer, Clarkson, and Schneider were are fantastic and I bet this is going to get a few Oscar nods, especially for the screenplay, when the time rolls around. | October 28, 2007 | N/A | |||
| Gone Baby Gone - R |
Dude... 1) Where did Casey Affleck come from? Holy crap... 2) Ben Affleck should really, really, really think about sticking behind the camera full time. |

| The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford - R | Easily the best film of the year so far and if it doesn't snag Casey Affleck at least a Best Actor nomination, I'll be shocked. Director Andrew Dominik proves he's the real deal and no one-hit wonder. | October 20, 2007 | N/A |
