An absolutely fantastic adaptation of the book by Bryce Courtenay. Not as great, but a great interpretation. It'll make you smile, it'll make you cry and it'll make you want to be sick as you realize the severity of the situation that the South Africans went through. At the end of it all, you'll be forced to reflect what kind of person you are and see that your life is perhaps much much greater than what they had to suffer in such crude racism. The movie follows a young English boy, P.K. It sees him as a child fighting for a place to stand as the only English boy in a school for Afrikaaners and sees him befriending black people. He is given the name, the 'Rainmaker' as he has no prejudice in him, as his aim is to see the African people being equally treated. A must see. Absolutely brilliant.
