Hhhmm... what to saw, what to say...!!!
My Top 5 Favourite Movies at the moment: 1) SAW IV (There's something slightly alluring about Tobin Bell...!!! I think I'm officially a freak now! LOL!) 2) 300 (Mmm.... So many abs... I went to see this at the IMAX... AMAZING!) 3) Sin City (You just can't beat the all-star cast! Can't wait for the next one! *in steps Johnny Depp*) 4) The Fountain (Hugh Jackman aside, this movie was really moving for me... A love that transcends all time... Beautiful scenes as well!) 5) The Nightmare Before Christmas (Realizing, of course, that there's nothing they could do for a sequal - BOO HOO! - this is probably my favourite "cartoon" of all-time!!!) What makes a horror movie scary? In my opinion, because I watch so much of this stuff, I need more in-your-face things (blood, gore..) and I find the scarest thing of all is the "realistic" killer. I mean, I love Michael Myers and Freddy and Jason, but they're like Fairytale monsters: No matter what you do to them, they just keep coming. But when it comes to killers like Jigsaw from "Saw"? I'll bet there is someone on this planet who has, at the very least, thought about doing something of that nature... Or "Hostel"... You can buy ANYTHING on the planet if you have enough money... Even someone's life.. I completely believe that the idea of paying to kill people for pleasure is a real possibility... What a sad world we live in, that money talks... But getting back to the rant... :P I often wonder what it is about horror movies that makes me keep wanting to watch more and more, the gorier the better. It's not so much the aspect of people dying (I could watch "Faces of Death" if I was really in it for that... Which is NOT my style at all!), but more the shock value, I think... I like the adrenaline rush watching a scary movie in an empty house with all the lights off. Have you ever sat in the center room of your house in the middle of the night and listened to all the creaks and squeaks that your house makes? I recommend you do if you haven't done so already! :) SPAMMERS BEWARE!!! This is a MOVIE site for ALL AGES!!! What's with the sex links... "See me nude"... blah blah blah! STOP POSTING THAT GARBAGE HERE!!!! SPAMMERS DELETED BY ME SO FAR: 8 R.I.P. Heath Ledger... January 22, 2008 |

I LOVE THIS MOVIE!!! My favourite part was the glass box with the syringe... If she'd only taken a moment to look, there's a lock at the very top of the box...:P But slicing your wrists in the fashion that she was totally creeped me out! :P

What a waste of my time!!! I hope this is the ending of the trilogy, because this one stinks.
First of all the bad things:
Maria Bello is a beautiful women, but she can't replace the beautiful Rachel Weisz. who is a better actress and has more on screen chemistry with Brendan Fraser.
John Hannah was a fun character in the first two mummy movies, but is annoying in this one. Jet Li is a great fighter, but why did he took this job. like 5 minutes he's Jet Li and the rest of the movie he is a ugly monster or a dragon. The rest of the cast was acting also at his worst. In stead of mummy's, you get other monsters, Yeti's and other creatures. I give it only half a star because of the art direction and set decoration that looked good and half a star for the costumes. No stars for the acting, screenplay, not to mention the bad editing and directing.
Waste of money and time!Don't waste your time!

Wanted
by DominiquePlot: Based upon Mark Millar?s explosive graphic novel series and helmed by stunning visualist director Timur Bekmambetov?creator of the most successful Russian film franchise in history, the Night Watch series?Wanted tells the tale of one apathetic nobody?s transformation into an unparalleled enforcer of justice. In 2008, the world will be introduced to a hero for a new generation: Wesley Gibson.
25-year-old Wes (James McAvoy) was the most disaffected, cube-dwelling drone the planet had ever known. His boss chewed him out hourly, his girlfriend ignored him routinely and his life plodded on interminably. Everyone was certain this disengaged slacker would amount to nothing. There was little else for Wes to do but wile away the days and die in his slow, clock-punching rut.
Until he met a woman named Fox (Angelina Jolie).
After his estranged father is murdered, the deadly sexy Fox recruits Wes into the Fraternity, a secret society that trains Wes to avenge his dad?s death by unlocking his dormant powers. As she teaches him how to develop lightning-quick reflexes and phenomenal agility, Wes discovers this team lives by an ancient, unbreakable code: carry out the death orders given by fate itself.
With wickedly brilliant tutors?including the Fraternity?s enigmatic leader, Sloan (Morgan Freeman)?Wes grows to enjoy all the strength he ever wanted. But, slowly, he begins to realize there is more to his dangerous associates than meets the eye. And as he wavers between newfound heroism and vengeance, Wes will come to learn what no one could ever teach him: he alone controls his destiny.Final Verdict

This movie is way over the top. When the first guy got shot and gets a bullit trough his head, it looked cool. But filling up the whole movie with it, is ridicioulous.
The screenplay is so predictable and get annoying after a while. Angelina Jolie was steaming hot in this one. James McAvoy acting was a waste, after his brilliant performance in Last King of Scotland. Please James, no more blockbusters for you, stick to the nice drama movies. Not what i expected!

The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian
by DominiquePlot: The characters of C.S. Lewis' timeless fantasy come to life once again in this newest installment of the "Chronicles of Narnia" series, in which the Pevensie siblings are magically transported back from England to the world of Narnia, where a thrilling, perilous new adventure and an even greater test of their faith and courage awaits them.
One year after the incredible events of "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe," the Kings and Queens of Narnia find themselves back in that faraway wondrous realm, only to discover that more than 1300 years have passed in Narnian time. During their absence, the Golden Age of Narnia has become extinct, Narnia has been conquered by the Telmarines and is now under the control of the evil King Miraz, who rules the land without mercy.
The four children will soon meet an intriguing new character: Narnia's rightful heir to the throne, the young Prince Caspian, who has been forced into hiding as his uncle Miraz plots to kill him in order to place his own newborn son on the throne. With the help of the kindly dwarf, a courageous talking mouse named Reepicheep, a badger named Trufflehunter and a Black Dwarf, Nikabrik, the Narnians, led by the mighty knights Peter and Caspian, embark on a remarkable journey to find Aslan, rescue Narnia from Miraz's tyrannical hold, and restore magic and glory to the land.
Directed once again by veteran director Andrew Adamson, screenplay by Andrew Adamson and Christopher Markus & Stephen McFeely and produced by Mark Johnson, Andrew Adamson and Philip Steuer, the film reunites the original cast and creative team behind the blockbuster first film in the series.Final Verdict

The sequel to The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. This movie delivers the same things as the first part, but with more action sequences and drama. There were some flaws in the screenplay. Because they are unhappy in real life, they wish they are in Narnia and magic trick and they are there. No clue who opened the magic gate and than after all the fighting and being happy, they decided to go back to their boring unhappy real life. I hope they stay forever next time in Narnia. Sorry, but i was disappointed.not so good as hoped.

This movie is so way over the top but still funny. When i saw the trailer i thought this movie would suck, but i was very suprised with the great and painful jokes. the great play by Will Ferrell and John C Reilly and Mary Steenburgen still looks hot. The screenplay is cliche, but that don't spoil the fun.Hey, you should really see this!

Brainscan
by CreepA fun and freshly original horror film. No real scares, no real gore, but this movie highly relies on heavy suspense, cool characters(one being Trickster for sure), and great atmosphere. The effects in Brainscan were cool as well, well at least for it's time and better than most horror films of the early 90's. The ending is quite mind blowing as well, and I'm pretty sure most of you will never see it coming. The biggest highlight in Brainscan is without a doubt Trickster, the wise cracking loveable villain who comes straight out of a scary video game. In some strange way, given that Trickster is the evil one, we find ourselves depending on him to come and save the day. It seems Trickster has all the right answers, and pretty much knows how to get our main character Michael(played by Edward Furlong), out of any tough opstical that crosses his path.
The acting here isn't the best, but good enough for a horror film of it's type, and never becomes too cheesy. Given the outline from the plot alone this isn't a film that should be taken too seriously...
"A lonely teenage horror-movie fan discovers a mysterious computer game that uses hypnosis to custom-tailor the game into the most terrifying experience imaginable. When he emerges from the hypnotic trance he is horrified to find evidence that the brutal murder depicted in the game actually happened - and he's the killer."
It's never dull and it's always entertaining, and that's why it succeeds on it's own intentions. The main point here was just to be fun and simply entertain, and that it certainly does. As far as the script goes, again, not the best but also not that bad. The story itself is what's freshly original and the ending just adds onto that(the originality).
Brainscan is an underrated hidden horror gem that I highly recommend to any horror fan out there.

You should really see this movie.

Mirrors
by CreepI'm praying that this movie will be good. I loved Alexandre Aja's Haute tension and The Hills Have Eyes, but based on the Mirrors trailer I'm a little worried. I understand lots of people are praising the trailer(mind you, I haven't seen the uncut trailer) but the TV spots just didn't do it for me at all. It just makes Mirrors look like an "R" rated version of The Grudge or some crap. Personally the trailer didn't grab me not one bit, and I'm not going to jump the gun and criticize the movie as a whole based on the trailer alone, but being that Alexandre Aja is one of my new favorite horror directors, I'm a bit worried that Mirrors might be his first downfall. We need a good horror movie, especially nowadays with all this crap that's being released, and we need a movie that will put the horror genre back on the fast track. Personally I believe this movie will be good, even great perhaps, but being that I'm so psyched and pumped I'm also a little worried that these feelings were all for nothing. Out of all the horror films being released, Mirrors is on my top 3 list, and has been ever since I first heard the news of it being made...but then when the trailer hit, I became a little nervous. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for Mirrors. This could be a great thing to happen to the horror genre or it could be the total opposite. I just hope Alexandre Aja proves once again that he can create such sickening brilliance and that he is indeed one of the new greatest horror directors.
My review will be coming soon...I can't wait for this movie...I just hope it's good. Is anyone else psyched to see this?

The Dark Knight
by DominiquePlot: Batman and Gordon find alliance with a newly appointed DA Harvey Dent to stop a vicious killer with a warped sense of humor known only as The Joker, a threat to both the good, and the evil of Gotham City.
Verdict
Flixster - Share Movies
In reality, the film has brought in $158.3 million, creating an even bigger gap between itself and "Spider-Man 3," which was the previous record-holder at $151.1 million back in May 2007.
My freaking god. The Summer movie of the year and of the decade. And the figures talkes for themself. 158 million for a movie is unbelievable. If the dead of Heath Ledger contribute to this success, i say YES. His performance is Oscar worthy. I will start my review.
-----------
Directing
Christopher Nolan collaboration with Wally Pfister is so freaking good. The shots of the buildings, The batman flying of the buildings and how the camera moves. They both deserve a prize for best directing and best director of photography. I'm speechless!!! Christopher Nolan is my favorite director right now!!!
Acting
All credits of acting goes to Heath Ledger. His potrayal of the joker is so dark, psychopatic and funny. His mimic, his way of walking is freaking scary. i got goosebumps. Aaron Eckhart as Harvery Dent is so convincing and flawless, but when he becomes two face it will blow you away. Maggie Gyllenhaal as Rachel Dawes is way much better than the stupid Katie Holmes. Also a strong performance. Christian Bale is an excellent Batman. Strong and also vulnerable. Great supporting roles by Michael Caine, Cillian Murphy and Morgan Freeman.
Sound score
If you see this movie in the IMAX. The sound is so clear and loud. The sound effects are so earblowing. i'm still deaf.
Oscars
It is got my nomination:
Best Movie
Best Directing - Christoper Nolan
Best Actor in a leading role - Heath Ledger
Best Actor in a supporing role - Aaron Eckhart
Best Adapted Screenplay - Jonathan Nolan and Christopher Nolan
Best director of photography - Wally Pfister
Best art direction and set decoration
Best sound and music score
Best Make up

Update news about the Dark knight
$315 million will put The Dark Knight $145 million shy of Star Wars in the #2 spot (considering the number of re-releases that film has it almost seems like an unfair placement) and a monstrous $285 million shy of Titanic at the #1 spot. After this weekend The Dark Knight will have been #1 at the box-0ffice for two weeks in a row, comparing that to Titanic it still has another 15 weeks to go if it wants to tie that film for consecutive weeks at the #1 slot. Titanic was released the weekend of December 19, 1997 and remained in the #1 slot through March 29, 1998. That means The Dark Knight would have to be #1 at the box-office until November 2. Likely? Hell no!Read only if you have seen it!
