proberly the best and most disturbing slasher icon and slasher film ever. Very well made, very realistic and gritty such a great and creepy film. LeatherFace kicks ass! If you've not seen this film and are a horror fan I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT! its a perfect perfect horror movie! the family of loonatics, the acting, the atmosphere, the weather, the characters, the lines, the sound effects and music! its perfect and scary! it really is'!
Along with Friday the 13th, this is an awsome slasher movie, very very quiet and creepy atmosphere, the phantom "shape" mask is very scary and does the trick, the performances in this film were good, its just a great horror movie michael myers kicks ass. all horror fans should see this.. Rob Zombies crappy new re-imagining sucks.
A strange film. but a cool story. the effects are a little lame and some of the acting sucks!, gore and the flow of the film was decent enough, this is defiently a horror classic and any slasher/iconic anti-hero fans should check this film series out its good.
Friday the 13th this is considerd a classic within the horror movie franchise. This film is just like any other cheap slasher movie. I'm sure the creators had no idea that it would become so popular and spawn 11 sequals! We have Tom Savini (Dawn,Day of the Dead, The Burning, Prowler, Maniac, Texas Chainsaw 2) on the effects team bringing us great death scenes most memorable the Kevin Bacon arrow through the throat scene. The film starts off in the year 1958 at a summer camp during the night where 2 camp counsolors are having sex and you see some one creep up the stairs and slaughter them. The next events of the movie take place years after in 1979. A group of teenagers go to an old abandonded summer camp called Camp Crystal Lake or dubbed CAMP BLOOD by the towns folk for all the bad things that happend there. Any way a group of teenagers are working on fixing up the camp for the upcoming summer but a mysterious figure is watching and stalking them in the forest. As it gets late the teenagers are dispatched one by one. Until there is one survivor left who bumps into an elderly women in the once empty camp site. The survivor girl quickly learns that the old women's handicapted son drowned at the lake years ago and the counsolors weren't paying any attention and making love whilst he drowned. His name was Jason. She was working at the campsite as a cook at the time.. after her son drowned she got no justice and the camp remaned open until murders took place there. As the old women tells the story she slowly becomes mad and the survivor teenager Alice learns that she is the murderer they have a fight which results in the womens head being split off. Thats right Jason is not the killer in this movie. But his mother. This film is very atmospheric and cosy feeling being at a abandonded campsite hours away from the nearest road or civilisation. and as it gets dark and stormy its very creepy.
OLD QUICK REVIEW:
Very atmospheric film. quite creepy. No Jason is not the killer in this movie. Its still an awsome film, i really like it, and also how Pamela Voorhees goes mad at the end, and the little snippets of Jason.
Nice film, quite nice ideas. The death scenes were pretty good for this type of film, some awsome effects and Chuckys lines were just awsome! A nice little film, defiently check it out if you like Slashers, or little evil creature films.
I have this on DVD but i lent it to my friend and havnet seen it in months.
Unlike any other horrors. And the Birth of Freddy Krueger, a truly original peice of art by directer Wes Craven. It was very well made with some great Dream ideas.
Taking place 4 years after the first movie. A group of teenagers go to a summer camp counsolor training centre which is next to the infamous camp blood! as it gets night the teenagers are dispatched 1 by 1 by a mysterious man with a sack over his head. when their is 1 survivor left Gini Feild she has a horrific show down with the killer. The killer is indeed Jason getting revenge from the people who killed his mother in the first movie, and he doesn't wear a hockey mask in this movie.
OLD QUICK REVIEW:
A very good and creepy sequal. I liked the ghost story idea having some twisted hillbilly/forest hermit in dungarees with a sack over his head rampaging through the woods looking for victims! pre-hockeymask slashtastic Fun!!
Taking place a day after F13TH PART 2, The wounded Jason steals clean clothes from a washingline out the font of a café before killing a man and a women who own it. He then decends over to an old barn to rest with his wounds. Mean while a group of teenagers have planned a vacation located in the same haven as the barn. One of the teenagers has a box of toys and one of them is a hockey mask. when the teenagers arrive Jason watches from the barn and as it gets dark he moves out for the kill, stealing the hockey mask to hide his hideous face he kills each one until theirs only one left and has a fight with her. Until he gets an axe in the head.
OLD QUICK REVIEW:
aside from the acting. this was the creepiest of all the friday the 13ths, Mostly because of Richard Brooker he was perfect for Jason, he was big, they made him mis-shapen.. and the make-up for his face was just spot on and very realistic..
Not quite the FINAL film.
Taking place a day after F13TH PART 3. Jasons "corpse" is taken to the local morgue. he then wakes up and kills the coroners and escapes into the forst. In the middle of the woods is 2 houses one full of vacationing teenagers another of a family of 3. Jason stalks the teenagers but doesn't know that a brother of one of Jason's victims is stalking him. After Jason's killing spree Tommy Jarvis a young child survivor played by Corey Feldman (Gremlins, Puppet Master VS Demonic Toys, The Goonies) Tricks Jason then impales his face with a machete killing him.
OLD QUICK REVIEW:
3 and 4 were very creepy. and this one had a great ending, truly great end to the killer Jason Voorhees.
cheesie, addictive, hilarious a must see! Peter Jackon presents his best ever film! Its hilarious! Its a splatter gore fest! Its a creepy sci-fi/horror film.. ITS BAD TASTE!
best directed friday the 13th. also alot of humour, which was good because it was different from the others. it was also nice to see Jason come back as a mouldy zombie and returning back to the lake..
This film explored things which the other films already had. but it made up with that with alot of new things. plus iam a fan of John Carl Buechler, the director. The fight scenes between the pyschic girl and Jason were just awsome, Jasons monster makeup kicked ass! a great movie!!
Very very nice film, although alot of people agree that they took the Jason story too far. I think it was a great film and Kane Hodder was great as Jason, and the scenes in Newyork were all good in their own way...
Poor. Cheesie. No respect for the earlier films. Some good scenes the rest just really sucks.. some nods to other horror films such as The Evil Dead, A nightmare on elmstreet, the birds, night of the living dead and a few more!
A far out sequal. Jason finaly dies at the end. Although I don't like the newline cinema Jason films as much as the paramounts.. this one was quite good especailly the part when jason turns into his úber form!
,
NOTE: I OWN THIS ON DVD
very nice mix, it was awsome to see 2 of the best killers on screen together! Kane Hodder did not play Jason this time round, but i think Ken Kirzinger was more perfect for this one! a great film although it would have been better to stay truer to the original stories. aside from that very well done! The backstory for Jason was very very entertaining I'm glad they made it like that. Also the fight scene at the end is ace with the heavy metal music! great movie!
Freddy was taken too far. Although he had alot of humour and one liners.. the effects in this film were better than the others.. I don't hate this film. its good.
This one was taken a bit too far.. it lost the scare for me.. Freddy was no longer some child killing maniac demon inside dreams he was more of a wise cracking clown and getting beaten by loads of kids who become warriors in their dreams.. nice ideas though.
Crazy, Entertaining and Insane sequal! alot of it did not make much sense, it was just very whacky! If you were scared of Freddy in the original 2 films, this pretty much kills it! This film explains pretty much everything about Freddy's back story, why he kills, what really happend to him, what happend to him as a child growing up, how he got the power to go into dreams! I liked the backstory, although I always pictured him as some old dirty guy in an old boiler room who kid naps and kills kids every night like the first 3 films suggest, although they kept that idea here too! but he was more clean and silly and not creepy!
Seriously the effects on this film are insane! they mimic road runner cartoons with alot of the effects, I liked when Freddy put Spencer into a video game and was killing him inside and making him bash around the house.
One of the best Halloween films. this one has the most story in it and explains why Michael kills.. so hes not just a pyscho he was possesd by the demon Thorn. the music on this film was good too and it is defiently far superior then 4 and 5. i WAS also very suprised to see Donald Pleasance return for his final role. Michael on this one is big and really creepy, there is about 50 versions of this film which all tell a different story which is confusing. The 2 films after this one pretty much carry on the story but ignore 4,5,6 with only minor refrences to them. Some pretty good gore scenes on this film, and the editing was a bit quick but still fun.
I expected that this would least be a good horror film. but it wasnt. I had no idea what was happening half the time, quite a whacky film with great sound track..
More creepy, and twisted then the previous film, the atmosphere feels very dull at times and the night feels like it lasts forver, but its a very very good film, i love the part when the innocent kid is run down and burnt. the ending for this film is the best and thats how it should have ended right here. infact i ignored all the sequals for many years..
Not as cool as i expected. Myers house is a bit too small for a live action tv show.. if it was a bigger and more spaced out enviroment it would have achieved the creepieness it deserved.
a great movie with a memorable scene involing michael crying. although this film has been rated the worst out of all 9.. I can't find it in my heart to reject it.. it was a good film!
When I first saw this, it was not the best sequal, but over time ive kinda grew to think it was one of the more better sequals! it was great to see Michael return! and the emotionless phantom mask he wore in this film, although it was different, it was pretty cool, created along with the gore effects by John Carl Beuechler who i'm quite a big fan of! The death scenes, and the choice of weapons on this film were alot bettere then the original 2 films, I like how he uses a shotgun as a spear! One thing which bugs me is, when the heck did Laurie have a baby? she was complaining about guys not liking her because she was too smart, and she was nerdie and never mentioned having a daughter atall on Halloween 1 and 2! all in all the dark blue atmosphere and the music made this film quite creepy.
some cheesie effects compared with other puppet master films. but a good idea for a story. Alot of people dismiss this film, as it was made by a differnet company. Yes its different, but so are the other sequals.. i like them all to be different its more interesting! It shows the puppet master series to be flexible and who knows what adventures you'll see them at next its fun!
the fight scene at the end although low-budget is ace! It was a bit quick and lame, i expected more Freddy VS Jason style brawl at the end but sadly not. Cheapie, but a eally nice little film in its own way and a worthy edition to the Puppet Master collection.
I understand that Charles Band had nothing to do with this.. but its not far out of the Fullmoon Court after all Ted Nicolau who directed Bad Channels and a few other fullmoon classics (Plus his van was the one driven by the hippy kids on the original Texas chainsaw movie!).
Also written by Courney Joyner who wrote Puppet Master 3 and other fullmoon films, and even co-produced by Kushner Locke of Puppet Master 6 and 7. I liked the new designs for the puppets and toys.. although different and cheap.. its good for a change! + we got Corey Feldman as Robert Toulon the Puppet Master (Cory was also in other great flicks such as The Goonies, Gremlins, Friday the 13th 4/5 and lot of others)
the sci-fi film. the puppets are no longer scary but infact friendly!!, Which is actually how it is in the story, the puppets were never "bad" its all due to the master, they do whatever their master tells them, if the master is evil, they will be evil.. if the master is good they will be good! but if the master tries to force them to do something really evil, something they don't want to do they will kill their master! anyway this film was pretty cool! best directed, great special effects, and use of demonictoys/puppet master remix music. The puppet laser tag was pretty cool, the totems were annoying but the fights between the puppets were fun and creative! The story was a pretty good idea to involve the demon Zutekh. Decapatron was cool, but i don't think it really suits Toulon's character.. one confusing thing about this movie is.. did it happen after or before puppet master II? i really don't understand! anyway great stop-motion effects!
better then 4. but this one was not that good, the ending could have been done better although i loved the part when the puppets are burning in the rubble.. this is not a horror film.. i'm glad they filmed it in the same location as part 1.. also they should of explained more of why Toulon was evil in 2.. unless 2 happends after this one in the story.
i expected this to be awsome. A little demon cookie going around cutting people up and with a potty mouth what else could you ask for? i was so wrong! it was very bad.. short and the acting makes it unwatchable for a 2nd time,..
One of my alltime favourite films as a little kid! i was very frightened of this film! i recently brought the DvD to watch again..
boring at times. it was good but it could have done without those midgets! Troll is better.
i can't stand these puppet films like dark crystal. but this was one of the best childhood films ever. it use to scare me. now its just a great little perfect film! i love it!
This film was actually enjoyable, the 2 before this one were not however. The best acting in any of the HellRaisers, including Doug Bradley, Great performance! Its good to see another female as the main character much like the classic 3. The dreams she was experiencing from opening the box would proberly be the same thing you'd witness if you took a crap load of drugs. When this film comes to Region 2 DvD, I shall get it on the spot, very interesting movie with alot of suspense, and of course you have full knowledge of the box by this movie and although you know the character is screwed, you still watch to see how they try and escape there trapped fate. The deaders idea was great, to show that although there is a fate of un speakable nightmares, theres a flicker of hope. (well in reality its ressurecting Pinhead ) Another title for this film could have been HellRaiser - The Chosen One. The ending gore scenes were brilliant along with Pinhead's anger. The ending leaves it open to perhaps make the next film repeat it self, but that appears untrue. other news Clive Barkers new book is out very soon which is a good thing.
Alot better the the prvious chapter! its nice to see Kirsty again, even if the story line was werid! damn i miss the first 4 films they where more crazy and not as odd! the gore in this one was decent, and the twisted twist at the end was very good! boom head shot! and Pinhead trusted her again? I thought he was evil!
This film beats the heck out of the previous 4 which failed at sequals. This one was pretty good! Michael Myers did it in Halloween 8, not Pinhead's doing it in Hellraiser 8, going online! The website idea was pretty good, the death scenes in this film are a little similar to the sort of thing you'd find in SAW. This film didnt have the confused sensation that the 4 before this one was riddled with. Aside from the modern teenage humour, this was once again a good hellraiser film, although Clive Barker did not write it! Pinhead looked awsome when he chopped the guys head off with the cleaver that scene is the best in the movie! Don't forget Lance Henriksen's bad guy role too! Although a good film it has a B feel to it. Alot of people say Lance could take over Doug's role of Pinhead in the remake, I sorta agree. The ending was great, and not just the scene where Henriksen's character is chopped up!
I use to have this on DVD but i gave it to my friend who had all the novels and all the films exept part 8! Big Fan!
God all mighty! the main character in this chapter annoyed the crap out of me!
this is by al means the stranges one out of all 8, and perhaps the best directed. shame about the lack-of pinhead in this film though
the first film was good. but this was a bit too silly at times, still a very entertaining film.. I love the new gremlins who each have different experiment issues.
A nice little peice of cinema here. great film, the scene where the women goes into the kitchen and kills each gremlin in a different way use to scare me as a child, now its awsome! this film kicks ass and is alot better then its popular sequal!
scared the heck outta me as a kid. this truly is a great film. Great atmosphere, very very creepy! the gore scnes are quite realistic along with the hole set up of the movie! you must watch this!
this film starts off boring. but the last part is great. 100% the best in all 8 films!, there is more cenobites on this film all eqaully looking excellent. the effects for this are good too. great movie and soundtrack.
This movie scared me so much as a kid. For many years I wondered what the scary movie was that scared me alot. I remember a scene with a women looking for her kitten and then this cat like creature slits her throat in a big dark room, Until I brought the Ghoulies 1/2 double feature DVD set I finaly found out what it was from. I remember it being alot more realistic and scary as a little kid.. now its just silly! Moving on, this film is alot more entertaining and funnier then the first movie, the ghoulies look awsome in this film and not as cheap as Ghoulies 1, All the cast ive seen in another cult or classic sci-fi/horror flick, so alot of familiar faces. There is alot of funny scenes which actually made me laugh out loud in this movie! Although this film is whacky as hell, there are a few sad scenes mostly based around Phil Fondacaro's character (which were similar to the ones on Troll). John Carl Buechler, my favourite Creature effect artist who did effects for loads of my favourite flicks, is to credit for creating the great ghoulies! This film is great, what else can you ask for? an 80's carnival theme with a bunch of little monsters causing trouble, killing clowns, spooking the visitors, playing around on the entertainments and screwing around with rides! This film also features THE best ghoulies momment, the unforgetable toilet scene, I seriously couldnt go to the toilet for months after I watched this movie! But my favourite scenes have got to be the little rat ghoulies spewing up its guts on people and of course the giant ghoulie going around and killing and eating the other creatures, until he finaly eats a molotov cocktail and blowing himself down to Hell. The stop motion in this movie is so hilariously beautiful its awsome! No Horror/Cult fan should be without the Ghoulies series in their DvD library!
NOTE: I OWN THIS ON DVD
Better and more entertaining then the pervious film. The gore scenes are not as strong though and more silly, but are still pretty good especailly the guy whose eye gagged. A good follow up, pretty entertaining. Chucky gets angry quite alot in this one which is pretty cool to watch when hes yelling his mouth off.
In my opinion this was the BEST child's play film. It was set out so well! The gore was pretty nice, I loved the ideas on it and Chucky has some great lines. The ending grenade scene was just excellent! In other movies they would have made the kid live after jumping onto the grenade, but it had actually killed him! that was such a great and some what sad ending. This is defiently a good film, and better then the other 2!
What can i say about this? Chucky's bride was very annoying i didn't like her one bit. i preferd it when he was alone, the acting and scenes on this film were just crazy! Its not a bad film though, the death scenes were great and well thought out. Good film. I also like the "refrences" to other great horror movies in the process, and of course their was items from other horror movies in the police evidence locker which makes it seem as if its in the same universe as the other movies... last note this film was directed by Ronny Yu who also brought us Freddy VS Jason.
Compared with the other films, this has the best effects, and the gore was insanely awsome. alot of things in this film, they didn't really explain, like how Glenn got from UK to USA and to the place where the dolls are at. another things is that they put the actress Jennifer Tilly in the movie who does the voice for Tiffany, and looks exactly like Tiffany which is very weird. I'm glad Britney Spears was killed though, that was good. The ending was great to see Chucky finaly die. But what i made of it is that Tiffany took Jennifer's body, Glenn took over Jennifer's male baby (poor baby didn't get to live?). When i first saw it i thought that Chucky was inside the body of Jennifer's daughter since the baby sitter starts complaining about the daughter at the end.. but the strangle scene before the credits says a different story, little confusing, but great movie, better then Bride of Chucky, and the ending scene and musics was superb!
A different slasher film then most. this one is fun and it pokes fun at other horror films. it also refrences numerous great horror slasher films..this one was pretty awsome and the twisted twist ending was great!
un-predictable..
The music sounds strangely similar to Halloween H20.
also this film features many familiar faces
A good sequal. again alot of familiar celebrity faces in this one. and i can see thatthey gave roles to some non-white cast members, something the first film lacked
Not as solid as the other films. Lots of kills from start to finish. I sorta knew who Ghost Face was in this film. Lance Henriksen's cameo lasted too short. The acting wasnt as strong as the other 2 films, but a great one.
Cult Classic... if your a horror fan and havent seen this film then your not a horror fan! heh if that makes sense? anyway... this movie was not as good as i expected. alot and i mean alot of twisted strange gore scenes, Not the best acting... but i think that the location was pretty scary so.. all n all i guess 3 stars?
100% Better then the original... the first secnes are a bit confusing... I think that the beginnign was just a remake of the first film? I quite liked this one, and had some memorable scenes and quotes for the movie history,, like Ash cutting off his possesd hand and replacing it with a chainsaw and not forgetting his line SWALLOW THIS. before firing his sawn-off double barreld shot gun.
A very strange film, some corny death scenes. the villan characters are very creepy, and the vllans died off too easy! This film is not as creepy, as i expected it to be..
Nice, amazing film! at firs i didnt think much of it, but recently saw it again. I liked the characters and the plot alot! and am familiar with the books.. just 2 things which ticked me off
1. Those posh "english" accents make me want to punch the actors, its an insult to me!
2. They ripped the name harry potter off of the character in 1986 movie Troll whichis very similar in story line indeed.
Great camera angels and photography work! very different to the other 2 films!
different filming location and of course a new actor potraying dumbledore... michael gambon who is a good actor but is not right for the part like richard harris was sadly.
Very silly little film.
Jennifer Aninston's big break in films i asume?
This film is very whacky and the acting is hilarious! films like Troll and Ghoulies are 10 times better then this.. although its not a bad bad film, its pretty good and the gore is good for a b-flick.
Still a bit boring and silly, but far superior then 1 and 2!
It stars Caroline Williams who played Stretch DJ in The texas chainsaw massacre 2, she looks so different i didnt reconise her.
The gore and quotes on this film were alot more extreme which made it even better to watch. I see they have lost the shining shoes business.. thank GOD! that was annoying.
Not as creepy or atmospheric as the first film.. the shark wasnt even that scary and neither was the victims re-actions, exept that shaky girl.
All in all a pretty good sequal just not as entertaining.!
Compared with Jaws I and II this movie isnt very good. The shark parts are not even a little bit scary, the cheesie 3D effects pretty much ruined this movie, since there is no 3D version avalible and you can just see the raw effects used. I liked the scene were the guy and women are in the tank and the shark wakes up and the guy just runs out to save him self and leaves the women that was pretty funny. In terms of music I think the intro music was pretty cool. Although its a bit over the top, I liked that cool under water theme park attraction, that was pretty sweet! I also liked the scene where the dolphins come to the rescue. The actors reactions to deaths was not very good, I mean you just couldnt believe it. For 1983 this film has a very early 70's look to it. Each JAWS film ends with a great shark kill scene, on 1 there was shooting it, on 2 it was eletricuting the shark and here its good old grenade in the mouth, blowing it to peices. The most memorable scene is defiently at the end when the shark slowly swims over and crashes through hthe glass, that was pretty cool and cheesie, also the ending when the shark is blown to peices cool and cheesie. The way the shark kills and eats people is alot like the T-Rex's of Jurassic park series. The 3-D Spear gun scene is alot like Friday the 13th Part 3 when Jason shoots the girl in the eye. i'm really suprised the Jaws film hasn't been remade yet, i would have thought it would have, not that I care for remakes, i'm just wondering why its not here.
I expected this to be aload of garbage, but this film was very entertaining! The intro music was recycled from the first movie. It was alot better then Jaws II and III. The acting in the beginning gave the impression it was going to be a b-flick, even the first death scene felt like a joke. But as it got into it more, the camera angles, and music were very good! This film was not scary atall, it is impossible to live up to the same atmosphere the first film brought us. The shark growling and getting revenge was very good idea! I think they ignored Jaws II and III completely. This film was great, I really expected Hoagi to be a villan but he wasnt, which is good since I liked that character. The ending is confusing, how the heck did the shark explode into oblivion? Did the boat crash into it? did it eat an oxygen tank and it gaveway? did that guy shock it to peices? all I saw was broady footage from Jaws I and then it exploded, I think they even used stock footage for its corpse. The 4 people at the end surviving was unexpected, I would have thought the Jamacian guy and Hoagi would have fell victim, but they didn't! I think this film features the biggest shark (obviously not as big or rediciouls as Shark Attack films) but still a reasonable, realistic sized shark. I'd Say Jaws 1,4,2,3 are my order of the best. Lastly.. I dare you to watch a JAWS film, any of them, and not have a sea related dream that night. Its impossible, everytime I watch a Jaws film I have a dream related around the beach, water and sharks!
Awsome film... very well made... very creepy atmosphere. I was like 11 when i first saw this film and after i was like 6 years old, no horror films have scared me (come on their just movies!) but after i saw this.. I had trouble sleeping... its not even a R-rated horror film.. The aliens are so creepy and the part about the interferience and the family going nuts is just creepy! the part when they are down in the basement and you can hear the beings walking about the house scared me a bit. and when you see the alien, it was the creepiest thing ive ever seen in my entire film experience.
I thought this would been good. but it failed. The whole theme was set out more like a late Hellraiser film, and little aspects of The Ring here and there...
For a cheesie movie, this got some good points out. the sensless stupidtiy was not even remotley funny. but the gore was pretty wild. this movie had some good points about bullying and concerquences. this movie could have been made better.
Obviously the best of the 3 evil dead films.. this film was not just a fantasy adventure as most horror fans asume it is, like the other 2 it also had some hilarious random scenes, and like the previous film the ending and intro have been changed, i assume they must hate using stock footage.
This film also includes the best one liners in the series such as:
GIVE ME SOME SUGAR BABY, GOOD BAD I'M THE GUY WITH THE GUN, I LIVE AGAIN, WHO WANTS SOME HUH? WHOSE NEXT, I'L SWALLOW YOUR SOUL, I'L CUT YOUR GUZZARD OUT, IVE GOT A BONE TO PICK WITH YOU, and not forgetting THIS IS MY BOOM STICK! and many more.
Also in this movie is great performances by ian abercrombie and of course bruce campbell. Lastly in my opinion this film felt a little rushed on the battle scene and although it was fun, could have been longer and better. The sound track to this film is just beautiful!!
Very good and clever film.. not many films are like this. At times it gets a bit confusing.. and the acting is a little poor even from Jack Nicholson! but an excellent performance by Scatman Crothers..
Wasnt as bad as i expected! great sound track and the gore beats the heck out of the original Demonic Toys. A bit short, and hell alot of flash backs and stock footage! but still a pretty fun little movie! i Its connected to Dollman, Demonic Toys, Bad Channels and a run in with the Puppet Master series. It has the action of Dollman, the comic and rock of Bad Channels and the horror of Demonic Toys! one thing I didn't understand is, it was Bunny who was left shrunk at the end of Bad Channels but here they suggest it was Nurse Ginger.
NOTE: I OWN THIS ON DVD
A Fullmoon series which didn't catch on. In my opinion I liked both Dollman movies. I find it a coincidence the fact Brick crash lands on America when he comes to this universe, and not another country or the sea. This movie was quite fun, a tiny man with a powerful hand gun running about shooting muggers, gangs and drug dealers in a city. The universe Brick lands on is also home to the characters of Puppet Master, Bad Channels and the Demonic Toys movie series! A bit short, but I enjoyed the movie more then I expected. And didn't expect the little floating head to be crushed, that was pretty funny.
This is a good pychological, horror, thriller. If you like horror movies with a bit more story behind it like Evil Dead, HellRaiser, then defiently check out this series. For 1973 this film looks amazing! Its sound track for this movie has become very well known. The ending of this film is the best scene. Alot of story needed to be squished into an hour, if this film was 2 hours I think it would be less confusing.
Thrillers like this are not my kind of movie, but I gave it a try since they were being shown at film club. This was a pretty interesting, but dull prequal. The demon at the end was pretty cool.
NOTE: I DONT OWN THIS ON DVD
Thrillers like this are not my kind of movie, but I gave it a try since they were being shown at film club. Very interesting movies. The first movie was pretty good, this one was just odd.
Thrillers like this are not my kind of movie, but I gave it a try since they were being shown at film club. This film looks amazing for its time, this was a really interesting film as the other 2 before it were very dull and boring. This is my favourite one.
Star wars churn out some great films mixed with great acting/actors, great special effects, great costumes and props and locations.. its just greate... oh and the story!
This film is so strange, different, good and realistic so you can't help but feel like you can never understand how it was made, well think again.! here is a great documentry peering right into the heart of the 4 original films, with all the cast and crew being interviwed, this is just superb! TCM fans must watch!
Some Awsome scenes, this is a very creepy and scary film, the creatures on this film gave me nightmares for weeks! but now the film is outdated and fun!
The title is not miss leading. This is truly a whacky random movie. Evil clowns from another universe land on Earth in their circus tent ufo and go around with pop corn ray guns turning people into cotton candy to take back to their planet. Its alot like Ghoulies II in terms of acting, effects and humour. This is like the Citizen Kane in the B-movie Library. Every bad movie fan has seen it. Crazy movie. I find it funny that every one killed with the ray guns are turned into cotton candy, yet the main girl character was only put inside a baloon and survived. Also rock'n soundtrack by the Dickies.
A film which is very hard to get hold of or seen. I however are one of the few who have seen it.. Its not a bad film, but it gets a bit rushed at the table scene, and judging by the title i expected their to be more DOLL footage. which i was wrong.. although the scenes with the dolls where awsome... quite a clever film and a good performance from Guy Rolfe.
This is a very rare film and not many have seen it.. its obviously a copy of friday the 13th
and it is alot better interms of the budget.
it has elements of halloween, friday the 13th and
a nightmare on elm street. a care taker
is burnt alive in a little cabin. he wears a hat
similar to freddy(elmstreet 1984, the burning 1980)... he survives being burnt to a crisp
and goes to a summer camp to kill counsolors
like jason and his mother. and he moves very slow like michael myers
even the music sounds similar to halloween 2 and 3.
This film flicks to GOOD to BAD between secnes.. some scenes
look like regular 80's horror film scenes.. others look like b-movies scenes
espcaily the killing scenes.. i think this film would be 10 times scarier.. if Cropsy
had just ran down into the lake and disapeard into the lake.. and not taken to hospital and released.
the campfire story, fullmoon shots, the "fake throat slit" just like kevin bacon's death, the parts when a women goes into the forest alone and the canoe scene is
rip off from the original friday the 13th and its sequal part 2. also instead of flashing white after some one
is killed like in the first 3 f13ths,, it flashes RED.
The beginning bit is a bit boring but other then that this film rocks and all zombie fans should have it in their collections! its awsome! the gore is great as expected from Tom Savini. The music is great, the atmosphere is quiet spooky being closed inside a mall with an open area.. and their is alot of humour also.. a very very great film and great performances by the cast especailly Ken Foree! Great movie!
Great Amazing Anime movie you really get caught up in the story, and at some points you forget your watching animation! its great, and the music is very nice.. a very good story, detailed drawings, great voice acting.. superb film... its amazing!
if you want to watch this, go for the Japan original dub with english subtitles, the english dub is very dull and boring, it just isnt the same!
.
.
If you liked Bad Taste.. Prepare your self for this blood soaked flick. Alot like Bad Taste but with a huge budget. From the beginning its great. Inbetween seems a bit boring, and theres alot more story, But this truly is an outrageously brilliant Comedy/Horror/Splatter/Troma/Zombie film! The gore scenes are extremely amazing and in your face. Ive never seen so much blood in a movie! this is truly a discusting and messy movie. this is not your average zombie comedy. The main character is alot like Ash from Evil Dead instead of a chainsaw, he weilds a lawn mower. The custard scene was sick, but it couldnt match to the splat scene towards the end! This film has zombies, blood and guts, kun-fu preists, rat monkeys... what else could you want in a movie? The most memorable scenes have got to be the ones with the zombified baby, and the monkey rat. This is truly funny and gory movie! i'l recommend to all horror fans! Stunning film!
NOTE: I OWN THIS ON DVD
All the Romero fans ive met have all told me that this film sucks. Although I don't agree completely, but I do see why they feel that way. The first thing is this movie starts just when the hole zombie thing starts, which is the same period as Land of the Dead and Night of the living Dead, which was long before Youtube and Myspace, although the characters on this film go on both sites, I guess Romero wanted this movie to be more in our world then his fictional world the others took place in. Ive never seen many films where the hole thing is a documentry, and allways looking through the lense of a characters camera, instead of just warping to each scene and forgetting you its all camera work as the camera is not actually suppose to be there. The acting towards the beginning was unrealistic! but you need to be in the right mood to watch this, don't look at it as real, look at it more as a movie and you can understand why the acting doesnt seem to be real enough, like the over and under reactions to death, and
the rest. Some of the gore scenes were alright, and the kid being impaled by the arrow was pretty cool. The ending brought a good message to the film. I prefer George Romero's earilier zombie flicks Night, Dawn and Day I really don't like new zombie flicks as much as the old ones.. I refuse to watch the new remakes, really pointless. The zombies in this movie were okay, they are more like zombies in the new zombie genre then the older one, and they also had a few call backs to the other films..
A great/different sequal. with hilarious scenes. and awsome new characters. Compared with the first film, this film is waay different, and crazy! Bubba Sawyer (Leatherface) is given a name, and is not as scary but in fact hilarious and clumsy! Chop Top is introduced, another crazy brother of bubbas, who sort of steals the movie away but thats okay becuase Chop Top rocks! Great film! Great sequal!!
Another Good Leprechaun film, this film covers some more
Ghetto/Hood elements that the other film didn't cover, the camera for this
film is much better, the acting too. Some very funny and cool scenes in this one.
Warwick Davis is a bit quieter in this film, i asume hes trying to get back into the role, after
just being professor Filius Flitwick in harry potter. Funniest scene has gotta be when Leprechaun is using a bong.
Pretty cool ending, i asume this one happens before part 5 in the story line? although i think the leprechaun should have died in the boiler.
The order i think, from best to the worst i'd say
6,5,4,3,2,1 Exactly like that!.I enjoyed 4,5,6 the most. 1,2,3 were a bit too cheesie and un-watchable for a second time round.
Among the best Black and White Zombie flicks out there.
One of the first Zombie i had ever feasted my eyes apon. This film was great, a few repepetive lines from the cast, and some bad acting momments.. but other then that i think for 1968 it was a pretty good film. If your a zombie movie fan and havent watched this i highly recomend it! and the ending was just great i never expected him to be shot..
It has Phil Fondacaro and Dennis Hopper 2 of my favourite actors.
This film wasnt as good as the previous 3, not just because it was new and i prefer older ones.
Films in the cinema start out good and then just get boring. and you end up falling asleep in your chair, although this one was the oposite and got better as it progressed, it was an okay film. some annoying scenes and actors but it was not bad.
I liked the fact they had Tom Savini's biker zombie from Dawn of the dead make a return that was pretty cool. Gore wasnt as good as Day of the dead, but was pretty good..
alot of this didnt make sense. but i liked it for some reason. i dont no why, as most of the footage is recycled from the previous films and theres about 8 puppet scenes in the hole film.. it was different.. but wasnt bad.
Best of the best. i loved it. and grew up with it,favourite film. LOVE IT!, the puppet effects, the actors, the music all great. Although Torok the troll use to scare the ass off me as a kid!.
Alot better then the previous film! Yet again another silly film, The acitng in this film is hilarious like the first film, the gore is quite good for a b-flick, and it has similarities with the film Killer Tomatoes Eat France., The leprechaun is back with more ryhms, this is easier to watch then the first film.
The first film got boring at times but it still made you watch it through to the end, this however just gets damn right confusing, lame and boring! It was cool to see Michael Berryman return as Pluto, although he acted nothing like the one from the first movie, hes really silly and refers to himself as crazy on this one. The intro was obviously a rip-off of The texas chainsaw massacre, even the film idea.. they bring out a gritty horrror movie, then a silly black comedy sequal. Things i didn't get about this film 1. Is that girl blind? one miniute shes walking about fine, next she can't see!!?? 2. why is that ruby girl friends with bobby and going to the races with him? 3. why does Ruby
now own beast? she was a bad character in the first movie! 4. popa duke has a big brother? since when! SO CONFUISNG AND ODD! i wonder why Wes Craven and all fans of the first film reject this?....
The 2nd best of the George Remero Dead series.
along with Dawn, this film is the best. The gore scenes on this film were extremeley realistic especaily the gun shots to the head. There was alot of good ideas in this film. The cast was great and it features a Mr Bean looker-like. Also the music along with dawn of the dead is excellent! and Bub the friendly zombie kicks ass.
Hilariously Cool, among my favourite films.. LOVE IT!,If you have not seen this yet... you must do it.. you must do it!!!
its just awsome the atmosphere, the actors, the effects and the filming location is just awsome every scene is just different and awsome!!!!!!
This film really has nothing to do with Troll 1, and theres no Trolls in this film, the monsters are Goblins, i guess it was just called Troll 2 to cash in! But their are similarities to Troll 1, like the transformation of creatures, the unholy look, the misty forests, the goblin masks are similar to Toroks and lastly the fact that humans melt into green plant ooze when killed.
Some scenes i disagree on. otherwise its a well made film, was pretty creepy at times.. and had some Awsome gore and effects.. the zombies were different from other films which was a good thing, i think it was a good idea and some good music scores.. The ending was confusing, i'm not sure if he lived... or died.
Crazy kills from the very start, a few pathetic and silly acting. Lots of nudity!, the same rules apply as most slasher films, and the murderer in this series is a real anti-hero. This movie is the most predictable out of the 4, and the weakest. Most of the time your thinking to your self "Meh.. Its been done", Sleepaway is great for its unique death scenes and murderer, so this film is a bit of a disapointment. But there are about 3 Excellent death scenes which I loved, which was the guys head being blown up, the girls head being axed off and of course the flag pole girl. The best kill was the lawn-mower but it was cut! damn, and the ending, i'm not sure what to make of it... did heshe die? is heshe going to die? Also a great sound track.
creepy fun film. Not just a kliller puppet going around and kiling mindlsly there is a story behind it which is pretty well made! shame about some of the sequals.
Kills from the very start and all the way through the film, all over the place. The death scenes are are a little more cheesie and creative and some what dumb compared with the classic and unique kills in the first movie, the gore effects are okay, the actors are a mix of good and bad. Some scenes make this movie feel more superior then part 1, other scenes are the complete oposite. Walter Gotell is in this film, the last actor i'd expect in a film like this! The killer is more emotionless and twisted in this movie and I loved the scene where the killer is dressed as leatherface and bubba sawyer and kills the 2 kids dressed as Jason Voorhees and Freddy Krueger. All in all, quite good slasher movie and a very different killer. This film strives for cheesiness and b-movie effect instead of trying to make it self look good. I prefered the actor who played Angela in part 1 then the one here and 3, but oh well.
What can I say.. This was certianly different from the others, Its great to see Felissa Rose return! I found the film pretty funny I laughed a few times, most of the death scenes were sadly cut down. but the ones that were not cut were excellent. The robot cop discuise was annoying and suspicious, the skinned frogs were sick. Anway Great direction for a sequal to a cult classic. Great intro music. Good sequal! Can't wait for it to come out on Region 2 DvD!!!! Because the truth is... I really liked this film! .
Not very good compared to the previous 2 films but still this film had some good momments. Firstly i thought leatherface's new mask and clothes were awsome and crazy! His new beefed up chainsaw as also cool. I loved the soundtrack for this film, the shoot out scene, the lake battle scene and of course the scene where Bubba is playing on the little childrens spell game! Pretty cool film!
This film is one that would scare the pants off you as a child. This is truly a good slasher flick, although i havent seen the 2 sequals until recently, and of course a new one just came out that i need'a see, but i need to wait for it to come out on region 2 DvD as i'm english..Anyway back to this mini reveiw. If you liked The Burning and Friday the 13th, then you'll love this movie. A great/Original slasher film, not a rip-off, it really is original! so if you like the good'ol teen body count films but with a little something different, then you'll love this film! The death scenes are very creative.. I mean VERY creative! Just watch and you'll see! The film itself is okay, seems a bit low-budget, and more like a anthology TV series like Goosebumps, Are You Afraid of the Dark or something. The ending to this film remains the most odd, screwed up, demented, sick, twisted, strange, awsome, scary, confusing, hilarious, outrageous ending you'll ever see in movie history.. TRUST ME! ask any one whose seen it.... just watch and you'll find out! Don't look for a spoiler you must watch until the end to witness the true extent, and discover the true sense of HORROR. I'm suprised this film isnt on most of the cult movie fan's lists, especailly for its ending! Damn this ending is cool seriously, Horror fans watch this! watch it! then make of it whatever you can! because words cannot sum up this movies ending. Superb unique horror movie!. With other movies like this, the game is to watch and guess who the killer is. In this film theres that, although the killer is obvious, the next suprise isnt so predictable which pays off, and makes it a decent movie. I'd give somebody £.900 if they could figure out the twist at the end before seeing it. You seriously will never guess it, I'm so proud of all the fans for keeping the secret a secret and not setting out spoilers here and there. Even if you were told the secret it still won't be as good, you'll have to watch ALL OF IT to find out! If you do get around to watching it my advice is this.. watch it on a saturday/friday night, relax, get some drinks and snacks, maybe get a few friends over and WATCH REALLY CLOSELY FOR EVERY DETAIL, BEWARE and HAVE FUN! the film may seen a bit boring at first and the concept may seem un-original, but it will pay-off! I highly recommend you buy the new 3 disk box set for this, its awsome! I hope this review gets read and will convince some new comer to this excellent master peice.
Borrowed this from my friend he insited i watched the new one since i liked the originals... what a mistake that was! i hate remakes so much! the scenes they mimicked but alterd from the original was an insult. It was so boring and put me to sleep, the acting sucked. it wasnt scary. the music sucked compared with the original, they changed the story completely and changed bubba sawyer to thomas hewitt, they changed the family, they swapped the pyscho nubbins the hitchhiker with some snotty nosed suicidal girl. I was so bored i skipped most of it to the action scenes the rest i refused to watch. Leatherface looked like a fag and the mask was crap. On the original movie, the miniute Leatherface comes from behind that metal door it was shocking and creepy and he stuck in your mind until the next time you saw him in the movie, but on this one, there was no scare atall!. About the only thing i liked was the fact they made Leatherface have a skin disease and reveal his face underneath..
I'd rather shoot my self in the head like that hitchhiker girl then watch this. I'd rather watch Texas chainsaw massacre the next generation in Chinese and upside down then watch this!
NOTE: I'L NEVER GET THIS DVD EVER
The acting in this film was not very good. proberly the worst out of all 4. i hated the idea of leatherface becoming a wailing tranvestite. and that the family isnt actually a family of pyschos but instead being controled by the FBI and Illuminati and perhaps even aliens,.
This film was originaly going to be a semi-remake of the first movie, but it got bad feedback so they made it into a sequal to the other 3 (which in my opinion was a good way to go!). This film also includes 2 actors who've become house hold names. Renée Zellweger and Matthew Mocnaughey. LeatherFace is yet again different which is kinda good, hes different in each film which i like. All in all, this is not a BAD BAD film, its just the acting, and alot of confusing stuff which throws you off board. but it kicks 10 times of crap out of the remake and its prequal! this is alot better!
This film was great, it captured the Hood element perfectly!
1000 X BETTER THEN THE PREVIOUS FILMS. the camera, the acting
has all been improved, its not as cheesie, but still is silly.
The film was great up until the part when the Leprechaun cuts of
The big daddy's finger, then it just gets a bit too silly.
Still pretty good though, and its hilarious when the rapper guys are
panicking when the leprechaun entres the building their staying at, its funny that their scared of some little guy. I don't think they should of added the cross dressing guy,
that was just strange and stupid. Again Great gore effects for a b-flick. also alot of the stuff
on this film were refrences to the other leprechaun films especialy part 2. This film had some funny and good raps, and at the end
the leprechauns rap was just classic.
Defiently the best of the 90's Leprechaun series.
The father of Jason X (Seriously alot of stuff on this film was later mimiced in Jason X), This is a really cheesie film, but in a great enviroment. The effects were okay but not the best, same as the props and stages. It features some a cast member Miguel A Nunez JR who has appeard in other great flicks such as Return of the living dead 1 and Friday the 13th part 5.
a great creepy sequal! although this film has nothing to do with the other 8. But it was still really good and features my favourite momment of all films.. the scene when Tunneler is creeping about at night and drills up patrcik.
Great idea for a prequal. Perhaps a little too far. but i think they captured the nazi element perfectly!. a very very good film, it explores before all the puppet master films took place (exept retro puppet master) a very very good film i really enjoyed it!
good idea. but it could have been done better! alot of story had to be squeezed into an hour so i respect what they did.
It was great to see clips of the previous movies all together and to explain the story, but they changed alot of it and they tried there hardest to kill the series.. I could have written a better script though. Great music momments though. Espcailly when Peter is explaining about Andre becoming a fugative. Also when you first see inside Bodega Bay, after all these years and movies and adventures.. the Puppets are all out of life and lying around a workshop together, exept Leech women who died.
Excellent, I'l start off by saying I didn't think this was going to be any good, but it really is a great movie! to sum it up, its set in the early 40's in an american village known as Texicana, theres a murderer who goes out at sundown to prey on teenagers, killing them with various different weapons. The story follows the sheriffs department as they struggle to try and track down the Phantom killer. The phantom killer in this movie is in my opinion the base for Jason Voorhees, not only is he silent, slow, mentally ill and doning a burlap sack over his head - just like Jason did in F13TH PART 2. The killer in this movie is based on a true murderer, and is creepy as hell! he is a slow moving, tall guy who appears mentally unstable. He wears a sack over his head like i already stated with 2 eyes cut out and when he breathes you can see the bag inflate, he is indeed very much like a smart version of Jason who uses gun. This film leaves lots of people who you think could be suspects, although it is none of them.,The ending of this film is great when the killer is chased into the swamp by the hounds and the officers and he just desends into the swamp and is never heard from again. The narrator says some people believe he drowned.. but other believe he is still alive and walking free, not really opened for a sequal in that respect, but its just chilling to think that he is just living civilised as a normal person in the town.
If you take George A Romero's Night of the Living Dead and turn it on its head, then you'll get something like this. A Hilarious movie! Really funny acting and scenes, even the zombies are different and humerous, and have very unique movements. Not as cool as the 1st film, but its great to see cast returning, although i miss Nunez, Calfa and Gulager, aside from that this was great! Tarman returns, not as cool but hes in the movie. A great zombie movie with humour all the way through very very funny, and just fun to watch. Return of the living Dead 1 & 2 Highly recommended to all Zombie, Horror, Comedy fans. Another thing I like about ROTLD is the great sound track. One thing I didn't like about this movie was its un-imaginitive ending, but its never been done in a zombie flick so i'l let it slide!
The 2 before this one were very funny. This one was quite cheesie, and it features the WORST camera crew ive ever seen! seriously! you can see shadows of the camera crew and micro phones bobbing up and down above the screen (same as ROTLD 1 & 2!). Aside from that it was a pretty cool movie, with some pretty nice ideas and lots of action, Fun gore scenes. Story was unique compard with 1 & 2, it wasnt just another mindless zombie riot, it focused more on one character, who wasnt atall sterotypical zombie like (exept the craving for brains!) and she was not mindless and became a sort of Undead Warrior Priestess! Lastly great suicide ending.
Okay! Starting with.. The TV commercial at the beginning was pretty cool, it pretty much shows what you'll expect of this sequal. The action scenes try there hardest to be tense but fail, I guess the director did not watch ROTLD 1, because they use the George Romero zombie effect in this film, where a bullet to the brain kills the zombie, in ROTLD 1,2,3 the zombies were pretty much invincible as you cant kill something which is already dead, the only way to do it is to cut the zombie into thousand peices and burn the parts (even then the fumes will float off and if some body breaths it in, or it settles down in a cemetry, the dead will be brought back, or some one will turn undead). Its hard to imagine that this film is a sequal to ROTLD 1 & 2, its so different! I can understand why fans of the first 3 movies ignore or hate this one! There was lots of elements of Day of the Dead in this movie. This movie also features a pretty rockin soundtrack. The film was fine, exept a few annoying actors, up until the Zeke's dead phone call.. then it started going down hill.. The kids became really brave, and jumped to conclusions too fast. The african guy does not fit the nerdie computer hacker class at all, well i guess its good that its not stero-typical! I mean this group of friends are a mix of outcasts, and populars and they all seem to have the same skills, interests such as fighting, motor cross. I didn't laugh once at this film, which casts it away from the horror/comedy feel, the attempted humour just makes it look cheesie. The story went too quick I just didn't believe or follow it. You'll have to be in the right mind-set to enjoy this flick. I loved the little creepy zombie babies in the lab though! The gore scenes were just quicker, cheaper imitates of other zombie films, but some where actually pretty amazing. Also some pretty corny and some cool call backs to the first movie, and the third movie with the bio undead warriors, which I think didn't really fit in with the first 2 movies, but it was still pretty cool and a nice idea! This film could have done without the peadophile guard and that girl who is with him. Seriously why did those idiots go into the trouble of helping Zeke? i thought he was an asshole and he didn't really get on with any of them! and saving him, they just caused alot of trouble, deaths and didnt even get to save him! The scene where there trying to escape from the complex and crash setting the car ablaze is priceless, as much as i liked the big boom, that wouldnt have happend in real life from a simple clash, that was still great and i was hoping they all died, then i rememberd early on the little kid was making a flame thrower which hasnt yet been used in the movie, so i knew he was going to survive and use it later on, but how they survived the car wreck in one peice is beyond me! They re-used the tense about to shoot momment, then the character realises theres no ammo or the safety is on too many times. The little kid getting the top part of his head ripped off by the zombified Zeke was insanely un-expected and good, another great momment was when the kids are being attacked by the Zombie Warriors with the guns for armys and all the armour (Similar to Quake II a video game which was similar to the one at the beginning of the movie). Perhaps the cyborg zombies were killed too quick, as short lived as they were, they were still cool and unique for a zombie series like this! Another thing about the normal zombies i didnt agree with was, they were all stock and looked exactly the same, in the same clothes, and walked the same, and died too quick. Other zombie films are great for there different unique zombies with different costumes and unique walking styles, but here there all the same and it gets boring and repetetive. A unique part about this film is that the out break happends within the closed complex and not flooding out into the city. The ending credits were in some way humerous. This is defiently 3 star matieral discuised as a 5 star!
NOTE: I DON'T OWN THIS DVD
I see they took the RETURN OF THE LIVING DEAD name and part of the story and made it their own unrelated series! (seriously watch ROTLD 1 & 2 then watch this, its hard to believe its a sequal). I see alot of the music was just re-used from ROTLD 4. This is not George Romero's zombie series... a shot to the head does not kill these zombies in ROTLD.. why did they change it? The gore on this film was cheesily fun!, infact i laughed at most of them they really are humerous! Julian overacts to everything in this movie, i guess the events of 4 left him scarred and nervous. The drug idea was really clever and the whole drug selling business was pretty funny. But seriously, this is a good little teen zombie movie, you just have to ignore it as a ROTLD movie and watch it as a stand alone horror comedy flick! The whole rave scene was okay, that seriously is the worse place to have a rave, when theirs head stones every where to trip over. The shooting scene was good though! It was great to see a return of another Tarman! although this one looked too human-ish were as the original was more like a monkey!, and this one was also slim and not as fun, although the ending when hes hitching rides beside the main road is great! All in all this film is very fun and better then ROTLD 3 and 4!
Basically some fat guy Michael Moore yapping on about all the faults in America, with minor refrences to Columbine. most of the information in this movie was wrong, and the part when the guy puts the gun to his head and scares Moore is hilarious!
The original is my all time favourite film... now i hate remakes but this new one is going to rock!!! Finaly the Harry Potter name is back where it originated! In Troll!!
A Hilarious show! Its really really funny and perverted! XD 5/5 Highly Recommended!
Thank God this hasnt been dubbed over in english and is in japanese!
Its a Troma Film release (Toxic Avenger, Redneck Zombies, Sargeant Kabookie Man NYPD - you know, bad quality, acting, effects, camera angels.. movies that are cheesily fun) so I didn't expect Dawn of the Dead quality. With Billy Bob Thornton, and of course Don Calfa who plays Ralph Willium a very similar role to Don's Ernie character in Return of the Living Dead, but this character is more evil but still has alot of the Calfa character roles, clumsy, too smart for his own good, and hates being proven wrong. When the zombies are walking along a little tune plays which is pretty cool. This is more of a Comedy Horror then anything else, I mean a gang of biker girls and a group of blind kids fighting off zombies in a remote town! Zomedy! Despite the title, there wasnt any prequals or other adventures for the Chopper Chicks this is the only movie. I'm sure Troma had other movies planned for the group but because of poor feedback from the video store they scrapped the new movies. Just my opinion any way, the watched the flick mostly because of Don Calfa's apperance. For a zombie flick the gore effects weren't really IN YOUR FACE as other Troma films are but it picks up towards the end. And the some makeup effects are more humanish like Night of the Living Dead rather then decomposing like on Zombi 2. Some characters deaths are quick and some scenes are a little rushed. The zombies are original in this movie they understand commands, they eat flesh, but a shot to the head won't kill them you'll need to remove a battery from their skull or behead them! Oh and the zombies use guns and chainsaws! This film has lots of head decapitations!!
Along with Day of the Dead this is another follow-up of Dawn of the Dead. The atmoshphere in the first half of this film is very dull, the acting is too. The film has similar atmosphere to The Burning. The sound track was pretty catchy and very 80 style zombie-ish, the zombies on this movie were very realistic and more creepy then the ones in George Romeros film, the gore in this film was extremely messy and over the top! Very good gore and death scenes, I was luckily enough to see the uncut version with all the great gore scenes! The Shark VS Zombie scene under the sea was pretty entertaining, god knows how they were able to film that with the real shark, although it was toothless, but the zombie wrestles it under the water, thats the last thing you'd expect in a zombie film! All in all this not as fun as George Romeros original 3 classic Zombie movies, but still this one is very good..
Ever since primary school I use to hear about candyman and we use to say it in the mirror 5 times, and people us to go on about the movie. Well I saw the 3 on TV once and thought i'd watch them! Starting off with this one, like all Clive Barkers movies, the film follows around one character, and see everything as they see it, and every one else sees them as crazy, as the character slowly does become mad. The movie has a good atmosphere, and the scene where the boy punches Helan in the eye with the hook makes my teeth cringe. The theme song is catchy, the slasher is very different then others such as Jason or Michael. Candyman is a real anti-hero, as you think hes evil but slowly get to peice his story together and find out hes not. Though this film is quite scary when you see it for the first time, its really unlike any other horror movie.
Judging from the cover, you'd expect a 70s/80's style zombie horror film, but this is not one of those. For 1986 this film looks pretty good! Every scene is completely different and the direction for the story changes every miniute, un-predictable and a little confusing at times! This is a pretty fun Alien/Zombie mix film, the acting and story is a little comic and un-realistic, and the character over or under-react to stuff, which is how it was suppose to be, thats the theme for this style of movie. Its like a movie wich strives to have a good story and direction but with a B element. Its like the Evil Dead of the zombie films. The gore was pretty funny, mostly heads being disolved or ripped open, alot of the effects ive never seen in any other film. If you want to watch this movie, ignore any thing else you've ever seen, don't compare this to anything else, just watch it and enjoy, and remember its a movie, and don't start picking up on all the illogical aspects, as they do not apply to this film where as other movies when something like a character dies and the characters girl friend doesnt show any emotion for it, it really annoys the veiwers, but this movie thats how its suppose to be! A little rushy at the end, and all the characters seem to get confident and indepenant and sort of know the mission and what lies ahead! a lot of actors in this movie from various other cult and horror movies. The funniest part of this movie was the Screaming Banchies.. Damn that never gets old and makes me laugh every time!
Chucky, if it wasnt for your annoying wife Tiffany I think Dolly and you would have made a perfect Bonni and Clive. This film is very similar to Child's Play movies. The intro music was cool, but the first few miniutes of the film felt very rushed, every time a scene begun it was over seconds later. Very creepy atmosphere, not grave yards or anything like that, but a small Mexican village. The acting in this movie is rusty as hell, and I can see why it didn't take on with more sequals, the last momments of the film were pretty cool, but the very ending sucked! I like how the family of 2 kids keeps a collection of guns and ammo on the wall, although the young boy does get hold of the gun and blasts the doll to peices and says "play with this bitch.".
If you expect this film to be like the end of Zombi 2, zombies scattered across New York city, then your wrong. It doesnt mean city in that term. This movie was a very interesting zombie flick, the atmosphere throughout is calm and dull, so when something happens its completely un expected, and alot of strange things to occur. The effects aren't too great but some of the makeup is quite discusting. Alot of occurances in this movie arent seen on screen, so its left for the viewers imagination. Theres not many zombies in this movie, but the ones which appear are quite creepy and mouldy. The music in the movie sounds recycled from Dawn of the Dead and Zombie Flesh Eaters. The most memorable scenes have got to be the drill to the head, and of course the women coughing up her guts.. literally! Some scenes make you think.. "How the heck did they do that?" like the women crying blood, and the maggot blizzard! The ending for this movie did not make any sense to me at all. The women trapped inside the coffin scene, and the guy with the pick axe trying to get her out, and the pick axe missing her face by inches was pretty freaky scene, sorta like a nightmare coming true for that character. This film isnt as good as Romero's zombie flicks.. but is a very strange and interesting addition to the Living Dead, Zombie series of movies!.
I once started watching all 4 films on TV. but after this one i quit right away! im a b-movie fan but this was crud. the best thing was the dinosaur created by John Carl Beucheler
I really hated remakes.. but I gave this one a try since it has Tony Todd (Candyman) Bill Moesely (The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2) then theres the guy whose famous for being killed off of all sorts of horrors William Butler (Ghoulies II, Friday the 13th part 7, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3, Gingerdead Man) and of course directed by the great horror and gore king, Tom Savini (Creepshow, Friday the 13th part 1,4, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2, The Burning, The Prowler, Dawn,Day of the Dead and many more greats). I never liked remakes, until I saw this, its made me give a second chance and actually watch some remakes that before I wouldnt! This film was great and better then the original in my opinion, the original was very good, but a bit dated with the acting and effects. In this movie we get the same basic stuff from the original, some new stuff and some stuff that we think is going how it was in the original then something jumps out or a freak change occurs which really gets you, thats all down to Tom Savini who is a master at deceving scenes that something hideous jumps out from when the audience least expects!, refering to the cemetery zombie scene and a few others. Babra is alot more tom boy-ish and tough then the crazy annyoing scared fem in the original who is actually killed off, but this new one is a fighter and survives. The ending is alot different which was un-exepected, Babra shoots Harry, and Ben has actually turned into a zombie and then shot by the rednecks rather then the rednecks shooting him when he survives like in the original. All in all, a really great film and I enjoyed it more then the original! Great, shame they don't make the remakes like these any more...
Not the best zombie movie. But still a pretty good flick!
The zombies are more like the ones from the Dawn of the Dead remake, which leap and run and growl like aliens.
The ending where the zombies are being shot down and ejected from the plane was great, I really liked that part. Lastly the characters purposely go out their way to get on the audiences nerves.
Not really a REMAKE.. Just a film that also involes a group of people, hiding from a zombie outbreak within a mall. which shares the same name as the George Romero classic.
I didn't enjoy this movie that much, I prefer the original.
These new action zombie flicks are really not my type.
I'm more of a 60's-90's zombie fan.
I liked the apperances from the cast of the original that was good. The only survivors should have been the cop and the guy who shoots him self at the end... all the rest especailly the ginger and blonde haired girls, and the dog shouldnt have made it.
Unnessecary sex scenes. I really didn't like this movie that much but I did enjoy it at some degree.. Its sad to think the amount of people who've seen this and never the classic one which is alot better!
One of the better Italian zombie flicks. I enjoyed it more then Lucio Fulci's zombie flicks. Like other italian zombie movies the film is set mostly in africa and the zombie is explained by voodoo with dodgily real tribe footage, dead body footage which is confusing what is real, stock and staged. The same zombie rules apply, zombies are afriad of fire and only shots to the head can kill them, and this film has some great head shots! The most memorable thing about this movie is the use of Dawn of the Dead (Goblin) music, and music from the film Contamination. Even the tall crazy long haired specail officer and the midget guy with blonde hair look alot like Peter and Roger from George Romero's DOTD. The dubbing in this movie is great, but there is some scenes which are hilarious such as the puke scenes and the dubbing for the african people at the converence scene which don't have African voices but Australian,British and grouchy American accents! The scene where the cat burtst from the old lady zombies stomach is odd, they shouldn't have added that, just plain weird. The cheesie gore right at the end was like something you'd see in The Dead Next Door. I noticed this movie seems longer then other zombie movies. Some of the music is fitting, but some of it isnt. Oh last note we got the Troll 2 director working on this movie Claudio Fragasso aka Drako Floyd.
Quit a cool DVD!
Its basically clips of different horror icons all in one DVD, with a few trivia gfames, trailers and a commentary by Robert Englund as he talks about all the different films. I recommend any horror fan to just pick this up for their collection its worth it! Not a bad DVD. Last note because of this DVD is whyI started watching the Last Summer series.
Its like a cross between Scream/Final Destination.
Most modern teenage, slasher flicks are really horrid with over the top humour, but this one was pretty interesting. Though the concept is a bit boring, its certianly different from other movies and keeps you watching all the way until the end! very interesting movie. Slasher fans I recommend you this.
To sum it up 4 college friends are on their way back from a night out and run over somebody in the road. They are scared to call the police so they dump his body in the lake and drive off like nothing ever happend, but the 4 friends are haunted and attacked one by one, by a mysterious "fisherman" with a long black duster and weilding a sharp hook. As people around them slowly begin to be dispatched by this mysterious killer, the 4 teens get together and try and figure out the mystery and stop the maniac before he gets them all!
Liked the first one? Then you'll love this spleen ripping, gut dragging sequal! The Fisherman is back, now much like CandyMan he has a hook for a hand. The way he stalks and kills - which is more fun and violent then the first film, is more like Jason Voorhees or Michael Myers, hes more personofied here, as the first one he was more of a spectre who'd just appear. Each death scene really maks you cheer! there is alot of funny scenes in this especiaily when the boat driver is pulled out into the ocean. I like how Freddy and Jason are mentioned in this movie! they could be refering to the movies.. or this film is in the same universe and they are refering to the real famous serial killers. Like the first movie, this one has a very neat soundtrack. I like the hole stranded on the Behamas Island in the storm and hurricane, quite a creepy setting for a horror movie. If you like Scream/Final Destination, then check out the Last Summer Trilogy. Great movie. Great atmosphere and a tense ending! This is alot like Scream.
Cool sequal, different from the other 2 movies. The fisherman is truly a cool killer, i'm suprised he isnt as well known as Chucky,Ghostface,Leatherface,Jason,Freddy or Michael. The fisherman is a zombified, demonic, ghost in this movie, and the music, camera angles, acting and effects are alot better then the other 2 movies. In my opinion a good sequal, easy to watch series.
I was watching Zone Horror and I was fourtanate to run into this little zombie flick. Like the Puppet Master VS Demonic Toys movie it was a Sci-Fi Original movie, so I didn't expect Dawn of the Dead Remake quality. I like B-Movies so it was no problem! At first I didn't think i'd enjoy it. The acting and direction is terrible and far from realistic, but if you ignore real laws and look at this movie as set in another universe then you will get on fine with it! The gore and death scenes, and some lines and acting is suprisingly hilarious and actually makes you laugh out loud! I love that about this movie! I really had a good laugh with it. Especailly the cook and the infected soldier fighting the 2 coroner zombies in the kitchen.. that was hilarious! everything from the guys fingers being bitten off, to the head being cut off by cleaver and of course the women's head gibbing on a blunt fan! The gore is excellent, not realistic but in your face! The diner scene actually had a good acting momment, one thing I found random was the big ass axe just hung on the diner wall next to the men's room XD. Green blood for zombies is quite original, and so was the scorpion infection. This is really a good bad/zombie/horror/comedy movie, sadly not many zombie fans have seen it~! Another thing I liked is the debate about the original and remake of Dawn of the Dead between the women and the soldier and how she says the remake sucks and the guy saying the remake was awsome. The black guy is jumped on and savaged by the zombies at one point, but the next scene hes hiding in a box, that didn't make much sense but glad he survived he was a funny guy. The zombies moans have a robotic/alien feel to them, they sound like the teddy bear on Demonic Toys or torch, blade and pinhead on Puppet Master II. Last note one of the main characters is called Sanderson like me.

This film is like Bad Taste meets Zombi meets Evil Dead. The acting in this movie is really terrible. alot of effects are like those in Peter Jackson and Troma films.. bloody, cheesie messes. The camera angles are very much like Evil Dead, every thing else is more like one of the Zombi movies. Characters in this movie are named after famous horror masters such as Romero, Savini, Raimi, Carpentor and a few more. Sam Raimi (Evil Dead) J.R BookWalter (Puppet Master 6) both worked on this movie and even Bruce Campbell who played Ash in Evil Dead does the voice for the main character and another, Evil Dead is even seen on a tv at one point. This film is quite boring, though it makes you watch it until the end... it delivers what all zombie movies deliver, the ending is superb and actually quite tense, especailly the cage scene. Don't watch expecting a master peice.. for hard core Zombie Freaks and Cheesie Gore Hounds only!
Pointless! I wish they did a sequal like Freddy VS Jason II or VS Ash or another Friday the 13th movie because this was not good at all.
Beginning was too silly, too rushed, too stupid. the kills were un original, the acting sucked. the intro with jason's mother was hideous! they should of made a prequal to the original friday the 13ths showing Jason's backstory like the Halloween remake did for Michael... but no! This is seriously crap movie! and its also the dagger which killed the orignal series! I was expecting a remake like actually camp counsolors at a abandoned old camp fixing it up and having a stalker kill each one even if they changed the killer to Jason instead of his mother that would have been better then a bunch of retarded actors in a forest...
THINGS I HATED: most of it
THINGS I LIKED: the fact they gave Jason his burlap sack mask! the creepy picture of Jason in the lockette.
If you are a slasher fan you will be very much familiar with this flick. If your interested in becoming a slasher fan after seeing such things as friday the 13th, then i'd suggest you watch this, its a great starter movie in the slasher genre. Directed by Joseph Zito who brought us friday the 13th part 4 and gore effects by the great legen Tom Savini. In terms of movie, I'd say it is a cross between The Town that Dreaded Sundown and Halloween 1 with some scenes similar to those in Friday the 13th part 2. This film features a different slasher from the traditinal creep in the woods. When I watched it, I never would have guessed who the Prowler ended up being! This film has alot of momments that make you jump that are really unexpected. I'm sure the Prowler in his soldier uniform and cloth mask could have came back for some sequals like succesful slasher series, if it wasnt for him commiting suicide blowing his head to peices in a superb way that actually made me go YEAAAAH out loud! that was awesome! I was suprised actually, I would have thought more of the teenagers would have been dispatched, but the ones that were died in great ways especailly the guy who gets the catana in the head and it comes out from his chin.. then the Prowler struggles trying to remove it from his skull! Another thing I liked was just before the end of the movie the "I just shot somebody" smile, then the Prowler gets up and shoots the guy and what a mess that made on the door! A pretty good Slasher flick with an awesome ending..
I need to see this since ive seen the puppet master and demonic toy series which links to this! - Edit - A film that takes place in the same universe as Dollman, Puppet Master and Demonic toys. This film was alright, I think the bands were in this movie for promotions since its mostly rock and roll bands. Its directed by Puppet Master VS Demonic toys director and owner of the van in the original Texas Chainsaw, Ted Nicoloau. It also stars Charlie Spardling who also plays Wanda in Puppet Master II. Like the other full moon movies Troll,Demonic toys, re-animator, we are blessed with the evil green goo fungus! The alien design is pretty original and the little robot is funny as heck. The ending of this film struck me, since on Dollman VS Demonic Toys it explains that Nurse Ginger was the one left shrunk... but here its Cookie the band member whose left shrunk, I think thats a mistake, never the less a good movie, not the best, good tie in to the series, original script, I loved the clown band that Nurse Ginger was fantasising about the "I'M SO HAPPY" part. This film really tries to take it self seriously, and make it look like its a big budget movie, when it isnt....
Castle Freak Early Fullmoon / Empire has the greatest movies by Charles Band. Beats the heck out of this new crap which comes out like Dead Man's Hand or Evil Bong. Pretty cool 'n' original movie. I didn't like how the cat was ripped to peices by the Freak though. Not sure what else to say about this movie.
Troll 3.. gotta see!, hope to GOD they release this to DVD in english! I'm a huge fan of Troll and its sequal Troll 2 which have nothing in common and this film is about killer plants! but i don't care it looks fun!
