Best film ever. Its a pschychological thriller, a black comedy, a satire and an action movie all rolled into one. The acting, particularly from Brad Pitt, is amazing. It may appear to have a simple story, but the brilliant plot twist makes everything quite hard to follow, to an extent where you should watch it twice just to make sense of it all. It has the best ending for a film ever. One of it's main strengths is that it is never entirely clear what the moral of the story is - is bare knuckle boxing a good thing, is it trying to encourage anarchism? The film leaves you to think about it. The unconventional visuals are great too - the unusual cinematography and editing, but also the use of CGI (the fact that the CGI doesn't always look convincing is actually a good thing, as the film feels like it is somewhere between fantasy and reality). Just don't be disappointed that very little of the film is about fighting and that it is actually an intelligent film. Not everyone will like it though because of the sometimes graphic violence.

One of the best films ever made. It has possibly the best screenplay for a film ever, as the dialogue is brilliant and so is the incredible narrative structure. The actors, particularly Samuel L. Jackson in the role that launched him into the Hollywood A-list, are also brilliant. There are funny moments in this film too, which help. It's actually a modestly budgeted indie film, but the length and the film's ambition make it look epic. John Travolta and Bruce Willace, two major Hollywood actors, decided to star in it despite the fairly low salaries, and it turned out to be a good move for both of them, as they had career revivals after a string of mediocre movies.
