ok so I wrot this big long thing hailing Patrick Wilson and Jackie Haley for their performances but it got erased and I don't feel like writing it again. Anyway they were amazing especially Haley's Rorshach, which was just incredible...perfect really. I also Loved Mathew Goode as Adrian Veidt. He was great. He fit the character perfectly. Everybody did actually. Which made this movie so incredible. It transfered so well from page to screen. the only thing I have issues with is the timeline. Things happen out of order and it just kind of messes with you a bit if you're a fan of the book. However this did not hurt the film. It was still incredible. THe ending, although it was changed, worked and made things more believable I guess.
I know this movie will get criticism from people for the sex scene and of course Manhattan's nudity but these things are fairly essential to the story so I think they need to be overlooked. One problem I do have with it is the fact that Veidt's cat-thingy Bubastis just kind of exists. They don't explain that in the movie so it doesn't make sense to someone who never read the book. I can say that for any fan, this is a must see. It's awesome. For the three hours I spent in line i swear I was jumping up and down and freaking out because trhere I was at the midnight showing, in my Nite Owl shirt about to see Watchmen. It was great. So yeah just see it. I don't care who you are and if you've already seen it, do it again. It's worth it.

Watchmen

Based on one of the best graphic novels written by Alan Moore about superheroes, conspiracies and time. The film is directed by Zack Snyder, who previously directed Dawn of the Dead remake and 300. This adapation is made by a fan for fans. After waiting over 20 years to get from page to screen, the fans should be left very pleased. The running time is 2 hours 40 mins, which in my mind is too short, yes too short. The film couldn't fit everything from the book onto the screen, but don't be dissapointed it captaures most of the important scenes. The acting from the cast is very strong and they nailed the look of each charater too. Jackie Earle Haley (Rorschach), Jeffrey Dean Morgan (The Comedian ) and Patrick Wilson ( Night Owl) were amazing. The CGI wasn't overused, but could have touched up on the look of Mars. Songs used in the film, All Along the Watchtower and The Times They Are a-Changin' fit the film very well but others are quite strange at first but keep with you after watching it. Zack Snyder has done a fantastic job, the job they said that was impossible, no film is unfilmable. He manages to catupes everything fans want to see, over the top violence, sex and Doctor Manhattan'a cock. The only gripe I have with this film is it's too short but any longer and It might get too slow for non readers. I wish I could see everything from the pages of the book but unfortunalty with a film of this magnitude you have to be realistic and not have it run for 5 hours. Also the ending has changed, I prefer the book ending, but I understand why they done it. My advice to non readers, get the book. As for the fans of the book, this is as good as your gonna get. Who watches the watchmen? Hopefully all of us, but when?
