Was working as captain of various ships. Was working for a Hong Kong based shipping company for last 16 years serving on various types of ships: very large crude carrier, LPG carrier, chemical tankers, product tankers, bulk carriers, etc. Last ship was a very large crude carrier of about 318,000 tonnes deadweight routinely carrying 2.2 million barrels of crude oil.
Travelled to various countries specially USA, UK, Hong Kong, Ireland, Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Singapore, Australia, India, Philippines, Thailand, Japan, China, South Korea, Venezuela, Ukraine, etc. Presently working in KOTC in their new building project as Superintendent for last seven months. This company is building new tankers in Singapore and south korea. Our main responsibility is to approve the drawings to ensure that all applicable regulations are complied with and any special requirements of the company are taken care of. Thereafter carry out various correspondences related to these ships under construction. Studied at Cork, Ireland for about six months. Studied at Fleetwood and South Shields in UK for about forteen months. == As a person, I am a sincere and caring person. Love to meet new people. May be a little shy at first. Treat me with respect and I will treat you also with respect. Love watching movies. Trying to meet people with similar interests and making new friends. If anyone is looking for love, please note I am not interested in finding love here. I am here for movies and friendship. If anyone interested to talk on msn, please ask for my msn ID. Thanx. |

Honeydripper
by Teresa(2007 Director: John Sayles) This is a down home movie of hope...the stuff that most of us live on....real nice. Set in the deep deep Alabama South in a harsh past. Good performances by Danny Glover & an old time Sheriff Stacy Keach! [an instant view on Netflix] Blues musician Keb' Mo works his magic on the saxophone to help save the day..
A sweet, homespun Yaya Costa co-stars as daughter China Doll.
Flixster - Share MoviesHey, you should really see this if you are sucker for down home classic life struggle themes....very very down on his luck father Danny Glover stretches to save his simple night club.

Master and Commander - The Far Side of the World
by Teresa(2004 Director: Peter Weir) Excellent seafaring tale.....touches on the story of a young lad who joins Russell Crowe's character on a voyage...almost as crusty as Moby Dick but with a bit more heart & dash,

Gangs of New York
by Teresa(2002 Director: Martin Scorsese) Here is a movie (that feels a bit like theatre to me...my old fiance was an acting major) I can't quite finish watching this movie & now that I am/almost have..it is resonating with me....Some of the most impressive performances in a film I have watched in a long time...Ahhh yes...Scorsese?
Woke up Saturday morning & watched this movie finally on recommendations Liam Niessen...Leonardo DiCaprio...opens with an awesome group gangraising for a fight...what fight? Was it over Irish not been given jobs here in the "New Land"??

Despite some remarkable acting, I felt the editing could have been less choppy. I am not referring to the flashback sequences...where DiCapprio's character remembers some of these "big" gang leaders from when he was just a small 5 yr old boy (orphaned & arriving from Ireland)....More an attempt at an almost artistic statement surrounding conscription (unless you could pay $300 to AVOID the draft), immigration, monopolization/gang ....Extreme violence, raw in many, many parts. COULD NOT watch this film straight through... Bill the Butcher's from-the-gut speech to his "apprentice" Amsterdam (DiCapprio), was the closest thing to tender in this movie & it stays with me.....that is--except for the love that evolves between Diaz & DiCapprio's characters...wheeewwwww [true compassion of spirit & mutual empathy]
Equally, however, I was moved by Cameron Diaz's performance & the story of her character & her "scar"(much worse than my own) but a significantly deeper scarring of her psyche...life as a street urchin from age 12 (orphaned) & taken in by the seemingly compassionless Bill the Butcher (crime boss)......so many faces his character shows...Bill's lasting admiration for "Amsterdam's" dash aka guts....Bill even uses a bible quotation, "Lukewarm, neither hot nor cold, I will spew you out..."Hey, you should really see this OUTSTANDING theater-like raw performance statement on early Americana vs. Irish immigrants.!
