This is definitely a poet's movie. I particularly enjoyed the amount of silence, where all one might hear would be the pull of the thread through material as Fanny stitched one of her designs, or the sound of the breeze through the leaves, children laughing and the sound of footsteps upon creaky wooden floorboards, all of which made one feel as if one were actually in the film, a silent observer amongst real life characters, a step through a secret window back in time. Beautiful.

A feel good movie with a moral about following your dreams and never giving up on love.
