American Psycho
by Ginn"In 1987 Huey released this, Fore!, their most accomplished album. I think I their undisputed masterpiece is "HiP To Be Square," a song so catchy that most people probably don't listen to the lyrics. But they should because it's not just about the pleasures of conformity and the importance of trends. It's also a personal statement about the band itself."~Patrick Bateman

I havent read the book, but for once I think Im contented with not hunting down the 1991 novel by Bret Easton Ellis.
One thing about the story is that people easily confuse it with PSYCHO (Hitchcock/Bloch). Its not a remake or a modernized version of the 1960s film, and sad to say only a handful of people get the twisted humor in it, and what the film is really about..
Its a very poweful and demented story as it shows the american social psychology (and perhaps the definition? *no pun intended) of success. It mirrors the pressure of being in an ivy league environment, to be the best in everything, to be ontop of things, to be better than all the rest, how all of this can develop into to having a megalomanic kind of character. Seriously, how many of you get angry when youre not the best in something? How many of you feel close to breaking point when someone else tops you or whatever you have? Be careful, your sanity might be slipping.
Highly Recommended
For Mature Audiences OnlyOld flick, a few x-rated scenes, perhaps some might say that its shallow. Maybe you know some people who are extremely "elitist", just think of them as psychos. lol!!
*Yeah yeah I know its old. Ive been digging thru my dvd stash lately. Ill go back to rating newer movies soon.posted 7 hours ago -

Wild Orchid
by .:SexiVixxENSmoking hot! Considering this was an early 90's movie. Some passionate hot, steamy sex scenes,God there is just something about young Mickey Rourke that just uhhhh...Anyway This was really good,Innocent girl meets rich ,older experienced guy and so it begins.Mickey is very mysterious in this one too,I think that's another thing I liked about it.Really Good overall.=)

In Bruges
by DerekIn Bruges is a complete surprise... I didn't have any expectations going into it, but it completely delivered on all cylinders.
The story is pretty simple: it centers around 2 hitmen who were ordered to take a vacation in the angelic city of Bruges. Of course, nothing goes as planned.
Excellent performance by Ralph Fiennes and Brendan Gleeson. Colin Farrell was ok as well... that thing he kept doing with his eyes was a little irritating. But still a solid performance that is overshadowed by the first two.
This is a dark comedy that is sleek, cool and filled with a lot of heart. There is a good lesson to be learned from this movie. It also has great, witty dialog (which I love). There's something for everybody: drama, guns, fights, comedy, midgets, yeah it's all there.... Don't miss out on probably one of the coolest films of the year.
I'll end with one of my favorite quotes from the movie:
"I grew up in Dublin, and I love Dublin. If I had grown up on a farm, and was retarded, Bruges might impress me. But I didn't, so it doesn't.''
Hey, you should really see this! I was really impressed with this witty, soft-hearted hitman movie.

Clockers
by AndreaRe-watched this film and found myself just as caught up in it as I was the first time. Spike Lee gives us a realistic look into the dead-end lives of inner-city youth. Great cast - I was impressed with the performance of Mekhi Phifer (a new-comer at the time), but Delroy Lindo is downright scary in his portayal of Rodney.

House of 1000 Corpses
by GinnWelcome to the Dark Carnival! Bwahahahaa!!!
House of 1000 Corpses - Rob Zombies directorial debut in the film industry, this film is almost like his homage to the Texas Chainsaw Massacre, nonetheless it was an awesome retrographic horror film! The cast did a great job with the acting, the image slaps were very retro. Loads of clowns (and trailer trash?)
Historia: Due to nuclear testing in the American west prior to the Cold War, an entire mining community has been mutated into horrific cannibals.
Sick, Sadistic and Twisted, Enjoy the ride ghouls and boils! HaHAhahAHhaAHAaa!!
Best suited for Mature Audiences only.
Plus: Checkout the awesome soundtrack! YAAHHOO!!
This film is Juggalo friendly!!Hey, you should really see this! Wheeee!! ;D!

The Devil's Rejects
by GinnGet ready to be Rob Zombified once more!
The Devils Rejects - More action than horror, nonetheless very entertaining. This is a continuation of the story from Rob Zombies first film "House of 1000 Corpses", if you jump right in and watch this without watching the first film you might not really understand or even like anything about it.
Anyway like I said, the story carries out from the first film and now the Firefly family finds themselves in trouble from a justice seeking Sherrif.
Dirty, Dark, Brutal, Twisted & Sadistic. Very retro filming, Very awesome directing and very, unequally disturbing.
STRICTLY FOR MATURE AUDIENCES ONLY
Plus: Checkout these awesome soundtracks! Clean Ver. | Dual Disc
No actual juggalos and juggalettes were harmed in the making of this movie, lol!!!Hey, you should really see this! ;D!!!

The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou
by .:SexiVixxENUmmmm, yeah ok.Am I the only one that doesn't know what the hell this movie is about? Is it a comedy?and Adventure ?Or a drama? It didn't really get very funny,I don't know,I am just lost I expected Sooooo much more especially with the star studded cast on this film.I really feel this one was a waste of time,I struggled hard through the first hour and just decided to stick with it,it just never really did,it was boring and again,I dont get it.I see he found out about his son,his friend got eaten by the shark,or whatever, I dont know nevermind,I am not even gonna bother trying to figure this one out.Oh and by the way Who the Fuck leaves a 3 legged dog to fend for itself on an island, that's messed up people.=( Terrible!

Lars and the Real Girl
by GaryWhile it has some artistic merit, I gotta go against popular opinion here and say how much I disliked this film. Slow, bleak, boring and utterly lost. The idea of a person with mental illness being totally accepted and appreciated by a community is so far from reality that I almost expected 'Bianca' to come to life. Ryan Gosling is typically great and Emily Mortimer was a nice surprise, but the premise and blatant ignorance to the realities of mental illness just annoyed me. Overrated.
Perhaps the biggest dissapointment I've seen all year.
Just my opinion. Save the hate mail.posted 5 days ago -

Aqua Teen Hunger Force Colon Movie Film for Theatres
by GaryVery much an aquired taste (no pun intended considering the three leads), but still loads of fun for those with a rather crooked sense of humour. It's unusual and completely off the wall, but there are some truly great gags. Those who haven't seen the Adult Swim show might be a bit lost, but a little homework goes a long way with the ATHF. Feels like a stretch as an 80 minute move, but ya gotta fear the 'insane-o-flex'. Check it out if you dare.
Very weird and not for everyone, but there are some good laughs in this very bizzare animated movie.

Layer Cake
by .:SexiVixxENI really liked this one, reminded me of a heavy mix of quite a handle of other movies,Yet this was uniquely it's own. This is my first Daniel Craig film other than Casino Royale do it was nice to see him do something else even though still in the action category.Very cool,if you like the bumbling idiot lookout guy type thing and plans going all wrong,"accidental killing" stuff like that you will love this. For some reason I thought this was a Guy Ritchie film,It had him written all over it, just missing my man Jason Statham (sniff) lol!

The Darjeeling Limited
by GaryTypically quirky Wes Anderson comedy with some truly touching moments. The 'spiritual quest' of the three brothers can seem a bit pointless at times, but it does offer up some genuinely enlightening and unique comedy. The three leads are great and there is a strangely alienating chemistry between them. The Indian countryside really deserves a credit too. Heartwarming fun and a nice companion piece to the short film 'Hotel Chevalier'.
Yeah, I know most of you have seen this already, but I really enjoyed it and wanted to share.
It's no 'Bottle Rocket', but it is smarter than your average comedy.posted 7 days ago
