Gettin' Square - Unrated This is a very entertaining movie. The one thing that sticks out is the dialog. The dialog was just raunchy and fun to listen too. The story was really great with a nice twist ending. The whole cast was pretty good, but one guy stuck out. It was the actor David Wenham. I knew him from the movie 300, but his character as Johnny Spit in this movie is amazing. There is a whole scene when he is in court that is just really funny. So pretty good movie. March 11, 2009

Puppet Master: The Legacy - Unrated Not very happy with this movie at all. The Puppet Mast series have always been a favorite of mine and I am seen mostly all of them. They are typical B horror style, but I still love them. But this was just a disgrace. This movie should have been called, “Puppet Master: The Recap” because that is all it was. The movie had about 5 minutes of new footage. The rest was clips from all the other Puppet Masters and they were badly edited in. I couldn’t believe it. This was supposed to be close to the end, but this is not considered going out with a bang at all. March 11, 2009

How to Lose Friends & Alienate People - R I really had mixed feelings about this movie. I think Simon Pegg is a great actor, but this movie was just not right for him. Don’t get me wrong; the movie was enjoyable. But it didn’t have a true comedy feel. The story was ok . The cast had some good people like Kristen Dunst, Gillian Anderson and Jeff Bridges. They all stood true to their characters. Simon Pegg had some typical Pegg scenes. But they really have to stop putting Megan Fox in movies. I understand she is eye candy, but her acting is just horrible and she was really ruining the movie for me at parts. March 11, 2009

The Visitor - PG-13 This was an amazing movie. You don’t see a lot of movies now a days with this much heart and this one had it. It really touches you and you really feel the emotion. It is basically about a man who leads a boring life after the passing of his wife. He gets close with a couple of foreign people who teach him to love and feel in so many new ways. The rest of the story you will have to watch to see how good and touching it is. If I say anymore, I could ruin it. The cast was really good, but I want to say the best had to be the main one played by Richard Jenkins. This was a great independent film. March 11, 2009

Super High Me - R When I heard about this movie, I thought it would be interesting. For the most part, it was ok. But all in all, it was just a movie about smoking pot. It really didn’t have much of an entertainment value. Doug Benson, I believe, just made this movie to show that people smoke pot. I really think that is all it had to do with it. I really wish there was more to it, but I found myself getting bored. There was some funny things in the film that kept me interested though. For that, I just say it is ok. March 11, 2009

Postal - R Ok there was only one reason I watched this film. I heard it was based off the video game. Through the whole movie I could not see what they had in common besides guns. The end of the movie even said it was based on the video game Postal. It really was a sad excuse for a movie. The comedy was really just dumb and the low key actors just made you not really want to watch it at all. I think it could have been better if they really worked on it. March 11, 2009

Teeth - R Some have heard of vagina dentata which is basically a vagina with teeth. The previews of this film really made me want to watch it for it seemed off the wall. First let me say why I liked it. Gross off the wall scenes that you were NEVER except. I mean they went too far. The fact that you could call this a spoof of a horror film. And the fact that I found out that Josh Pais, the gyno, played Rachael in one of the Ninja Turtles movies. Now what I hated. The acting was horrible in the film. There were too many scenes that just stretched and were on the boring side. The lack of story and plot. And many more little pieces. If they really wanted to make this a great film, they could of focused on The Dentata more instead of some of the boring scenes. But they did make it look like a high budget film and for the most part it was somewhat entertaining. You must watch this at least once. March 8, 2009

Deal of the Century - PG Chevy Chase films are usually hit or miss. This film was a miss; big time. The plot was just plain stupid and made no sense. There were so many holes in the story. Chevy Chase was just not that funny at all and just plain boring at parts. There were a few scenes that were typical Chase, but in the end, just not that good. This goes on that list of typical bad 80s films. March 8, 2009

The New Guy - PG-13 The movie was ok, but just your basic early millennium teen movie. I guess someone saw DJ Quallis as a rising comedic star. He was funny in Road Trip, but because of his character. His character was different in this film and I believe it threw people off a bit. The movie had a nice message, but portrayed in a stupid way. It could of been better. March 8, 2009

Burn After Reading - R A very strange and warped movie about getting plastic surgery. Well that is the whole backbone of it. I think that George Clooney and Brad Pitt really loved their characters and you could tell that by how well they played them. The rest of the cast was good also. Again, this movie is just plain odd, but it really works for it. You might get annoyed at parts, but let it go and you will see it all by the end. So it was a fun and strange film. March 8, 2009

Return to the House on Haunted Hill - R I will have to say I liked this film a little. But it was the same as the first. They really tried to make a cool story, but it didn't work. Some of the scenes again made you shiver a little, but nothing too scary. The cast was just stupid. I mean, I guess they were just on a list of B actors. Sorry, but it was true. Overall, I kinda liked it for some of the art of it all and it pretty much fits the same as the first. March 8, 2009

House on Haunted Hill - R This had a very interesting concept, but the story was a little strange. They relied on some freaky scenes and it did put a little shiver down your spine, but nothing to wine about. The cast was ok, but could of done without some of them. So overall, an ok film, but not one to write down in history as an amazing scary film. March 8, 2009

Bian Lian (The King of Masks) - Unrated This movie starts off a little slow, but that is ok. The rest really makes up for it. The cast was ok. The main old man and the little girl were great though. This movie has a touching message and on top of that a lot of lessons. It shows that women can be just as good as men in that time period. The little girl proves it. That was because it was during a time when women meant nothing in this country. Another side hero was the man that dresses like a woman. All the women want his children and all the men wish they were him. So the men fight against woman rights, yet they want to be like a man dressed as one. Interesting huh? But the old man and the girl is what really has a heart to heart story. Great film. March 8, 2009

Jesus Camp - PG-13 There are so many different religions in the world. But sometimes you never get to see deep into one. This documentary shows deep inside of being an evangelical Christian. Not so much the adult side, which they did show a little of, but mostly the children. Very interesting piece of film. I would say I am not completely crazed about this film, but it is definitely worth a watch if you are interested in seeing a strange and almost freaky side of this religion. March 8, 2009

Penelope - PG This was surprisingly a very entertaining film. It was combining fantasy with reality. Christina Ricci was great as her character as well as James McAvoy. They made a good pair. The story was touching and fun. I think it was a little off the wall story wise, but it really all seemed to fit. The rest of the cast was also pretty good and made this into a very nice movie. Goin' South - PG First off the cast in this film was crazy. I never expected to see half of these people in a western type film. Jack Nicholson's character was mostly annoying to me in the film, but he still did a decent job. I would say the movie was ok, but this is how I felt. I felt like a huge cast of people got together and said, "lets make an off the way older western type movie". And they did. March 6, 2009

100 Girls - R I did enjoy this film. Not so much the story, but the lengthy dialog. It was actually very interesting to listen too and Jonathan Tucker really seemed to fit his character. Some of the other cast members did not sadly, but it really didn't ruin the movie. I found it pretty solid and for the most part very interesting. This was a long dialog script and they pieced it together very nice. March 6, 2009

My Name Is Bruce - R Ok Bruce Campbell has to realize that he will always be cool, but never be like he was back when he was young. He just doesn't have the movement anymore. This movie was nothing but a lot of references to all that Bruce Campbell is known for which is great. The cast was half and half. Some of the cast were originals from Evil Dead and Evil Dead 2. Other cast members were plain awful. The story was pretty boring sadly enough. I can grantee that if you were not a Bruce Campbell fan, you would hate this film. March 6, 2009

Harold & Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay - R I was pretty upset with this film. I thought it was going to be like the first. Where the story was really stupid, but the comedy was amazing. Well this one had the stupid story, but they were trying to get serious and it really screwed it up. The comedy was nothing new. It was kinda funny, but a repeat of the first. Besides a great Neil Patrick Harris scene, the comedy was kind of short. March 6, 2009

The Eye 2 (Gin gwai 2) - R Different story line then the first. A little more demented, but with good meaning. The movie had more of a meaning than the first, but was not as scary. I would say this one was a little more crazy than the first. The cast was pretty good in the film. There were a couple scenes that made you turn your head and think, "woah, that was messed up". Pretty decent overall. March 4, 2009

The Eye (Gin gwai) - R This movie had a great story. It was almost a really great piece of work for a horror film. But some parts kind of took the scare out of it. The full creepiness of the film was amazing. Showing you that you do not need all that gore and blood to make something scary. The movie was mentally scary with some added suspense. The cast was really good also and made the movie very enjoyable. March 4, 2009

The Eye - PG-13 The movie was ok, but it is so hard to like some American remakes. The original really had the creepiness going for it where this one didn't. Surprisingly Jessica Alba was ok. I don't see this role being the best for her career though. The story was ok but was missing a lot that the original had shown. So yes this was ok, but that is about it. March 4, 2009

Choke - R I really enjoyed this movie. But I was not expecting what I got from it. I didn't know what the movie was about that much. Just heard that it was good. The film has a pretty interesting yet crazy story. The story has some small flaws in my opinion, but nothing to get angry about. Same Rockwell is great in this movie. His just overall crazy sexuality made him a great character to follow. The rest of the cast was pretty good too and enjoyable to watch. Good movie. March 4, 2009

Kaze no tani no Naushika (Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind) (Warriors of the Wind) - PG Another great Miyazaki film. The story was pretty solid except for some small parts. Nice voice cast in Japanese and in English. Interesting fantasy style story. A pretty strange story about what happens to the world in the future. Not your typical end of the world story. Animation was crisp and hand drawn. Very nice to the eyes. Great film. March 2, 2009

1408 - PG-13 I was really disappointed with this film. Having Cusack be the main character really gave the movie high expectations, but in the end, it didn't help. The concept of the movie seemed really scary and really good. But the way it was put on the screen was just confusing. So many things left out. I had a feeling in my mind if the movie had another hour, it could explain more. I wish it was scarier too. I found myself adding scenes in my head to make the movie better. March 2, 2009
