This was an ok film. For the most part, the story was very interesting. It is just how it was done that made it just ok. If the movie was a bit longer, I bet it could of been stronger because it just seemed rushed and that might of caused the really stupid ending. The cast was decent. Devon Sawa and Ali Larter were probably the best. I really couldn't stand Seann William Scott in this role. The way that the people died was interesting, but I really think it needed more creativity. Show something that you have never seen before. But the film did keep me interested the whole time and that is always a plus. So again, it was an ok film.
It seems like National Lampoon will come out with any crap now a days. My main rule is that if a movie at least makes me laugh once, I will not give it one star. So other than that, the movie was pretty bad. The voice acting was good, but really really annoying. Jake was especially annoying. His voice was just over used. The story was a piece of garbage. Now I remember the flash game to this and did not know there was a movie based off of it. The flash game can be fun, but the movie was horrible. And if you are going to make a movie, why not get some better animation too. Oh well, better luck next time.
Even though this movie was pretty bad, I did find myself enjoying it. The make up for the zombies was pretty good. I have seen better, but at least they did look like zombies. The sounds they made were really cheesy. The cast was half and half. Some were good and some where bad. The two brothers did a pretty decent job of acting, even though the guy who wrote the script was an idiot. Some of the lines said in the movie were pretty cheesy. The story was bad, but still kept you interested. You cannot really say this was a horrible movie if you did like it in some way. I actually found myself wondering what will happen in the end. So it wasn't the best, it was just ok.
I knew this movie was going to be bad, but I had to watch it. I wanted to say I saw one of the worst films of the year. I was right. It was a pretty bad movie. But you cannot give a movie like this the lowest rating if you at least enjoyed some scenes because they were so bad; which I did. First I will say that the cast was pretty horrible. The only two people I thought could act was Deborah Gibson and Dean Kreyling; even though he had a small part. The story was so bad it was almost funny. A bunch of whales ram a glacier that holds a huge shark and octopus who were fighting millions of years ago. They are now alive again and killing everything. In the end they have to have an epic battle. The use of CG in this film was really bad. One mistake is that they would use the same scene a couple times. One scene they even mirrored it to make it look a little different, but you could still tell. If you are going to make a movie like this, you have to get the budget to make good CG scenes. But all in all you should watch this to at least say you did. I mean some scenes will make you laugh. One in particular was when the shark jumps out of the water and takes down a plane. Oh man that was great.
I really did not have high hopes when seeing this in the theater. In fact it looked like the movie was really going to fail. But I am really glad I saw it. I actually enjoyed this film a lot. The funny factor was great in this film. Seth Rogen was just himself in the film and gave the movie tons of funny scenes. And Anna Faris was actually really funny as her character also. The rest of the cast all had their own great personalities that made them very enjoyable to watch. The story line was ok I guess, nothing big. But you have to expect that from this kind of movie. You have to rely on the comedy to keep your interested. Near the end of the film, it did slow down a little, but it did pick back up. Don't let the bad reviews keep you from watching this movie at least once. You may like it.
This was tough for me to rate. I didn't know if I wanted to say I liked it or not. But when I really thought about it, when the movie ended, I said, "it was ok". Because I said that, I had to give it at least three stars. But there was a lot of things wrong with this movie. First the story was just horrible, you might as well say there was no story. So many things just left out. The acting was pretty sad from some of the cast. Christian Bale was ok, but this really was not his movie. Sam Worthington just does not know how to act at all. The ending was a typical American hollywood ending that I will not ruin, but at the same time say that I wish it went another way. There was a scene that was suppose to make everyone excited, but it turned out kind of cheesy. In all there is a lot I could say that I hated about this movie. But the thing that kept me interested was the CG and that it was jam packed full of action. Nothing was boring about the movie. So it did have that going for it.
This movie just gets more and more intense until the end when you get shocked by the conclusion. The story is very good and will keep you interested till the very end. Min-sik Choi was amazing in this film. Imagine being locked up for 15 years. Now your cell is not bad, it is like a small dorm room with bad wallpaper. But you are fed the same food everyday and all you have is a crappy TV to watch. Being stuck in that small space will drive you nuts. You also find out by the TV that life is changing and that your wife is murdered and they say it was you. Yet it can't be because you are locked up. What do you do to keep yourself sane. Min-sik Choi's character Dae-su just became a beast within himself. A beast full of revenge against the character played by Yu Ji-tae who was also excellent. The rest of the cast is also great and really know how to act. The story is just one big pain in the mind. You try to figure it out and you can't be absolutely sure you got it, till the end of the film. And when that comes, you won't believe what happens. Great film and probably one of the best in that year from South Korea.
I wasn't sure what to think after seeing this movie. I did laugh a lot. But when the movie was over I was not sure how much I liked it. I then went home and a lot of the scenes popped in my mind and make me laugh. Even talking to other people who saw it made me laugh. I then realized I really liked the movie. Make sure you go to a good theater to see this movie so you do not miss any of the crazy lines that come out of the actors mouth. My favorite actor would have to be Zach Galifianakis. He was just amazing. I also thought Ed Helms was really funny. Bradley Cooper would have to be third in line and then Justin Bartha. Some of the cast I think was a little poorly chosen; like Heather Graham. I mean her body and face fit the character she was playing, but her acting is always just so-so. The story was not that strong, but it didn't need to be. That was the whole point of the movie. It is like the writers just thought, "what crazy things could be throw in this movie". One thing I cannot stand, and the do this a lot in newer comedies now, is the use of penis. Yes that is right. Now if there is a funny point to it, that is fine. But if it is thrown in there just because, then I have no clue why they do it. So overall, this was a pretty funny and decent film and a great movie to watch with friends.
I really enjoyed this story a lot. I will say that parts did give the movie a bit of a slow tone, but in the end the movie is pretty good. Luke Wilson did an excellent job as his character and I really enjoyed the performance of Adriana Barraza has his noisy neighbor. The rest of the cast was pretty good also. This is a very low key movie and it doesn't have a bit pick up or scene to it, but you can really enjoy it still because there is some added suspense of what will happen to Luke Wilson's character, Henry Poole. You will get a few chuckles out of this film also. Great movie.
I really didn't know what to thin about this movie. They compared it to Porky's or American Pie, but in my eyes, it was no where near that. It did not have the crazy humor of American Pie or the great comedy of Porky's. The whole point of the movie was that people fall in love, break up, get back together. Then there was this useless stuff they threw in there that really didn't have much to do with the story. The cast was not that good also. They mostly just got on my nerve. I think many two scenes got a chuckle out of me and that was it.
The first white noise was just ok in my book with a really stupid ending. But it really had a creepy feel to it. This one does not have the creepy feel. They managed to put a few jumping scenes in there, but nothing to rant about. The story line of this was more of a suspenseful type. It was not the strongest, but it did keep you somewhat interested. Most of the cast was just ok in my book except for Nathan Fillion. He has always been a good actor in my book and in this movie he did great. The only main thing I missed about this movie was that they should of stuck to the main focus of "white noise" itself and try not to make it more like a person with super powers.
I liked this a little more than I thought. Typical Sam Raimi film though where it is not horrible, but it is not the best either. Now the film looked great and you really wanted to see some classic B-Horror film scenes and yes they did have a couple. Including a talking animal that I will not spoil for you. The scare factor was ok. The movie relies more on loud noises to make you jump and if you are in a loud theater, they will. The story was a bit iffy but still managed to keep you interested and wondering throughout the film. The cast was pretty good. Alison Lohman was pretty good as the innocent little girl. Justin Long does not seem to fit for this movie, yet he did do a decent job. The make up for the film was pretty good for the demon type characters. Raimi always manages to put something in his films that make you cringe and yell, "what the hell!" There is a couple in this movie. Two that have to do with the old woman from the film. So yes I would say if you are a Raimi fan to see this movie because you will think it is ok and you will get a few laughs from some bad B-horror parts.
One of my favorites by Miyazaki. The story was really good. The movie was based more for a young audience but I loved it. It actually make me feel like a child. It is any child's dream to have a fantasy or a story they read in a book come turn and that is what the movie is about. The little girl in this film had such a great personality. I really loved the character and the Totoro character was really great too. Like most of these films, I watched it in its original language and I did not watch the dubbed version. With the english cast that I see, I am sure it was ok though. But it is always good to watch Miyazaki's work as it is originally suppose to be.
This was a tough movie to see if I liked. When I finished watching it, I felt bored. So I decided to watch certain scenes again and I started to like it a little. But I will have to say the movie is pretty boring. A man kills himself and is sent to a world of people who killed themselves and everything is depressing but they live with it. I think the movie was made like this to make the viewer depressed. The cast was ok. Patrick Fugit actually did a descent job of not showing any emotion. But Shannyn Sossamon didn't do a good job. Some of the cast was poorly chosen too like Will Arnett and Jake Busey. So in the end I did like the film a little, but I think a lot of people will hate it.
This movie rushed a lot. The people acting in it did not seem to really be into their characters. The movie had no back story at all. When they finally get to a part where you think you will hear about it, they only tell a little and it really doesn't make any sense. This film could of been a great piece of work with an idea like this. But the whole plot turned just cheesy after awhile to the point where you do not enjoy it. The first 10 minutes really pumps you up and then it just goes downhill. Will Smith is probably the only real good actor in the film and even he had his bad moments.
This movie was trying to be like Spinal Tap. A mockumentary about a band and their lives. When you make a mockumentary though you really have to keep the viewer interested throughout the whole film. Parts of this film were somewhat entertaining, but a lot of the scenes were just kind of boring. The cast was entertaining for the most part. Some of the actors were just not funny. An example would be Seth Green. I mean he is usually funny, but not for this film. But other actors with small parts like Dian Bachar were pretty good. So I would say it is an ok film, but not the best mockumentary I have seen.
This movie does have a stupid plot. And at some parts it just gets way too crazy, but I did love the film. Again, this is another love or hate film. If you love humor about nerds obsessed with Star Wars, you will love this film. If not, then you will not get it and will hate it. The cast for the most part was pretty good including the cameo by William Shatner. Some scene are a little funny and some are just hilarious. Chris Marquette, Sam Huntington, Dan Fogler and Jay Baruchel make a great team. Kristen Bell is added laster in for eye candy. There are many other great cameos by Star Wars characters including Carrie Fisher. So if you are looking for a comedy with a great story, sorry to say this does not have it. But if you are looking for a nerdy movie with a lot of humor, this would be one.
This movie took poetry to a strange yet interesting level. Johnny Depp does a wonderful job as the character William Blake who is thought by an interesting Indian along the way that he is the famous poet William Blake. Later Depp is turned into a gunfighter and his killing becomes a work of art. This movie is very poetic like I said and is slow at parts. It even runs kind of long. So you have to be open minded when watching the film. You will either love it or hate it. The cast was all really good and the characters were fun to watch. This includes the comic relief of Billy Bob Thornton at one point. But overall, this is a pretty good movie.
You could say that this movie is VERY poetic, but at the same time VERY demented. I really wish the movie had more to it and sorry to say, I wish it had more of a variety of demented scenes. Actually I wish it had more scenes in general. For this, I cannot say it is the best horror/thriller type movie out there. The very first scene does get your attention though. 54 girls jump on a train track and they all get crunched and blood flies all over the place. Just kind of makes you freeze up. Overall, good cast and a ok movie.
For the most part this was a pretty good movie. It really does keep you entertained throughout. James Dean is a fun actor to watch, but truthfully he is really not a good actor. He was just there for show. The young actor so that the young female crowd would see the movie. The rest of the cast is pretty good also. Sal Mineo was good, but in a freaky way. This movie had some classic scenes that you will remember and today they mention in other movies. Pretty decent film.
When you see older western type movies like this, they always have to be really exciting all the time. There were some parts that really where, but there were also parts that seemed to not go so well. I will say that I did enjoy the film for the most part though. Heath Ledger played a great part and right behind also acting well was Orlando Bloom. The rest of the cast was decent with there own personalities. Again, this is a nice film, but I could see it being a lot better.
There was one thing missing from this movie to make it an amazing film. The story was not strong. It was actually pretty slow. The beginning of the movie was so slow, I thought at first I would not like it at all. But then when it picked up, it was great. Not the best story like I said, but the cast of characters were so funny. All the dogs with the collars were so funny. The actors used for the voices were all stars and great. People like Christopher Plummer and Paul Eiding. So if you see this movie, give it a chance for the beginning is slow. Pixar still knows how to make a great animated movie.
The only thing that kept me from loving this movie to the top is that fact that the joke stretched a bit too long and the end was really rushed. Other than that, it was a fantastic film and really fun to watch. The cast was great. A really good all star cast. My favorites would have to be John Ritter and Denholm Elliott though. The story is based around one play they are trying to make a hit and in return things keeps changing making everyone angry and the cast fight with each other. Like I said, near the end it gets a little old, but up till that, it is very amusing to watch.
I find this movie interesting. I am not sure if I liked the story line that much, but it was somewhat fun to watch. The cast was pretty good though. Tom Cruise was pretty good at his young age. And his friends gave it a little comedy like Curtis Armstrong. In all honesty, this film was probably not the best but I couldn't help but watch it and enjoy it more than I wanted.
It was an ok movie. But really slow. It was set up as more of a suspenseful type film with the passion of sex and hiding secrets. That sounds like it could be a great movie is done right. But like I said, it was just slow. The sex needed more passion and the lies needed to be stronger. The last part of the title is videotape which only really makes sense near the end. The cast was pretty decent though. So it was ok.
