Oh God, prior to watching this film I thought it would be simply "okay", and well, I clearly was not aware of the potential this film had. Now I recently watched it and it is by far the most hilarious film I have seen thus far in my life. Curtis is absolutely brilliant, and I can honestly say that I feel this is her greatest role after Halloween. Cleese is utterly brilliant and in the most hilarious role I have witnessed him in. The plot is absolutely brilliant and as I said, undeniably hilarious. I could have not imagined this film having this amount of brilliant humor. Yet, the most noted thing in this film is Kline, who could not have been any more hysterical, definitely my favourite role from him. Palin portrayed quite a character also. The stutter was absolute genius and one of the most hysterical setups for the lines in this film. I don't know what is left to say other than the fact that I am absolutely in love with this film. I definitely definitely recommend this film. Absolutely brilliant. Did I mention I feel this film is brillant?

Utterly brilliant fucking film. I literally began to cry at the end. A very hard and impacting role for Bacon, who others I know who have seen this film, do not view the same as an actor after watching this. De Niro, as usual portrayed a very well respected role, and although he was not one of the four up front main characters, I viewed him as a large reason this film was so well done. Yet, I would have to hand the most credit to Pitt and Patric. Although Bacon and De Niro developed the film along and gave more impacting roles, I feel the narraration from Patric, along with his role, and Pitt's role, were the particular reason I, myself, felt this film was so brilliant. A film that will stick with me from now until the end of my life. A brilliant plot that ended as incredible as it could have. Also, a well potrayed role for Hoffman and Driver. THe four actors at the beginning, especially Renfro, were absolutely top-notch. Their roles were potrayed with absolute impact and delivered a heartfelt performance. Another film I would recommend this for anyone.

The X-Files - Fight the Future The X-Files - Fight the Future
    3.5 Stars by Danielle
It starts off with a boy falling into a pit and being attacked by hundreds of small, slug-like creatures that crawl into his eye sockets and over his eyes. More people enter into the pit in an ill-fated attempt to rescue the boy, and they wind up being knocked unconscious (or put into a deep sleep) like the boy. The bodies are all transported to a hospital, and that same hospital later blows up after Scully (Gillian Anderson) and Mulder (David Duchovny) are unable to stop an implanted terrorist bomb from detonating inside a coke maching. But then Mulder is told by a mysterious man outside a bar (Martin Landau) that the bomb was never attempted to be defused. It was all an elaborate cover-up to hide the bodies of the pit victims. Mulder shrugs off the old man at first before he realizes that the man used to be a friend of his father's, and that he has some interesting true stories to tell. As with the series, the acting is first-rate. David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson know their roles so well, they probably don't have to work very hard at being in character. Much the same can be said of the stellar supporting cast. If you?re a fan then you have probably no doubt already seen the movie.

    Solaris Solaris
    4.5 Stars by Danielle
Snow: "How much sleep ya need, Kelvin?
    Chris Kelvin: How much sleep?
Snow: Yeah. Um, how long ya think you can go without sleep?
    Chris Kelvin: Depends.
Snow: Well, when you do go to sleep... I find I sleep much better with the door locked."

Chris Kelvin (George Clooney) has come to Solaris for answers. Still broken and disconnected from the death of his wife, Kelvin is going through the motions, investigating the puzzle of what happened to the crew of the Prometheus, what drove one man to suicide and the survivors to the edge of madness. But when Kelvin's dead wife Rheya (Natascha McElhone) awakens beside him, he will discover that the greatest mysteries of all lie within our own memories and desires. In Solaris, Clooney is forced to stretch as he never has before, and without much expository dialogue to cover him. Facial expressions, gestures, even body positions allow Clooney to carry much of the film's emotional weight in fairly subtle fashion. The film's second act is strong, driven by the characters and their jumbled memories of Rheya's earlier, tragic demise on Earth. Jeremy Davies delivers a solid performance as Snow, one of the demented crew members who clearly is troubled and is hiding a secret from the others. What makes this a great movie is that it stayed true from the beginning. There were no monsters, cheap thrill scenes or excessive sub-plot points so typical of the sci-fi genre. The camerawork was well done and the music was consistent with the tone of the film.

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull
    4.0 Stars by Fabio
If you're expecting Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull to be a fourth in the series, you'll be disappointed. The original three were set in the 1930s, looking for buried treasure in a Treasure of the Sierra Madre style. The new film is set in the 1950s, and that changes everything.
The film itself is well written, and well made with only a few exceptions.
some of the animation and action sequences seemed too difficult to believe (even for an Indy film) like the monkey-rope scene.
The only thing that I hate the most is Shia LaBeouf dressed like Marlon Brando in "the wild one"..I can't accept that!

The Wild One The Wild One
    3.5 Stars by Fabio
Brando plays Johnny, leader of a motorcycle gang calling itself the Black Rebels, which terrorizes Wrightsville, a little American town.
The gang members release their frustrated emotions by racing, overturning a car, and by vicariously participating in a savage fight between Johnny and Chino (Lee Marvin), formerly a part of Johnny's gang but now a rival club...
Violence escalates when the town forms a vigilante committee, and inevitably there is an accidental killing.Johnny is saved from wrongful arrest by Kathie (Mary Murphy), a local girl who, in spite of herself, falls in love with him.

"The Wild One" introduces the motorcycle as the symbol of youth rebellion.
    An influential classic.

"Midshipman Edward 'Ned' Young: Fletcher, I'm proud to be with you.
Fletcher Christian: Well you've done rather well, Ned. Promoted to the rank of criminal. Not even 20 and a death sentence on your head."

Many have criticized Brando's portrayal of Christian, and I simply do not understand this.
Did we see the same film?
This is one of his best performance.
But also Trevor Howard is terrific playing the role of the Capt. William Bligh.

    The story is beautiful.
After the hardship of a horrendous voyage to the island, the romance and humor of the Tahitian sequence was a welcome relief.
It's a long movie but you'll never have the sensation of being sit on your couch.

    American Gangster American Gangster
    4.5 Stars by Fabio
American Gangster is a perfect gangster film. A rise and fall film based on a true story.

Denzel Washington delivers a marvelous performance of a man calm and patient yet heart-stopping ferocious at some points, fearless and ambitious but likable as always.
When he's not talking, just the way his face is set, he totally gets in this character.
Russel Crowe delivers a good performance,i think there's a great chemistry between them even though few scenes bring them face to face. Richie Roberts is in danger for being one of the few cops that actually do their jobs and refuse to take bribe so i think there's a big resemblance between Richie Roberts and Frank Serpico (played by Al Pacino in 1973).

Ridley Scott's direction is brilliant, just look the short but brutally effective opening scene.

Maybe some pople can say t's too long..about 2 hours 37 minutes, but it never loses interest.

Rails & Ties Rails & Ties
    4.0 Stars by Danielle
Devoted railroad engineer Tom Stark (Kevin Bacon, Mystic River) is at a crossroads. His lovely wife Megan (Marcia Gay Harden, Pollack) has survived two bouts with cancer, though now it's terminal. Because of her fragile health, their marriage has been stale for some time, and it's about to be seriously tested with the arrival of a 9-year-old boy.
Davey Danner's (Miles Heizer, ER) mother has just committed suicide. She was killed when the train that Stark was operating smashed into her car. As a result, the precious boy is placed in a foster home, though he is determined to confront the man responsible for not stopping the train. Meanwhile, Megan has decided to leave Tom for awhile, even though she has minimal time remaining. When Davey shows up, Megan takes a liking to him and says she'll stay if Davey stays. The conflicted Tom has no choice, and little does he realize how much of a profound effect Davey will bring to the home. Eastwood's debut as a director is more than impressive. It's clear she's learned much from her father, and visually tells this story clearly and eloquently. Bacon's searing work - coupled with the simple yet thoroughly effective conclusion. It's actually nice to see Marcia Gay Harden not relegated to the role of The Wife or The Mother, and get to sink her teeth into a full-bodied character. And to the extent that the character stands apart from the ludicrous circumstances into which the film throws her, Gay Harden's performance is effective, her excitement at having someone to love almost registering as an actual human emotion. Miles Heizer, who has a hefty part as Davey is also good. "Rails & Ties" is in some ways the serious-drama.
