The Green Mile
by MikeNo film has ever evoked such a strong emotional response out of me as this one has. I mean, I seldom cry from watching a movie to begin with, but this one felt so real that it had had me tear up in a way I never thought possible (and yeah, I'm not ashamed to admit that). While having me truly hate some of its characters, it simultaneously had me love and feel a strong sense of compassion towards others.
It's been about 8 years since I saw it now and I still haven't forgotten about it, which is just another testimony to how great it is. And what's more, it even outshines the novel it's based on, although I don't really like making comparisons between the two. Anyway, if you haven't seen it yet, be sure you do, because drama films sure doesn't get much better than this.Hey, you should really see this!

The Other Boleyn Girl
by MikeHistorical dramas have always been my cup of tea, so it wasn't really a major surprise that I ended up liking this. The story, about two sisters rivaling for the love of King Henry VIII, was as interesting as it was well-acted, despite being a bit on the slow side.
Additionally, I can't say I had anything against seeing Natalie Portman and Scarlett Johanssen in one and the same film. Because these girls aren't just two knockouts, but can actually act as well and do so with a sense of dignity and feeling for their material.
All things taken into account, this proved to be one of the best movies of the year, and one I'd gladly recommend to other fans of the genre.Hey, you should really see this!
