| San suk si gin (The Shinjuku Incident) - Unrated |
Jackie Chan is now too old to play as "himself". Yes, he still has the moves and flexibility, he still exudes the sincere-optimistic-believing simple good guy personality, but he could not, without decreasing the plausibility of the movie, any longer play as a rural naive (presumably young) man looking forward to marry an 18 years old sweet heart. Please, the story would not be less interesting of he is trying to save a daughter, or niece, it's just an excuse to move a happy man from his quiet home town to the hell of illegal immigrants struggles and yakuza blood bath in Shinjuku Tokyo, so why insisting on casting him as someone probably 20 years younger? Apart from that bias, this movie is okay. It is very different from the usual cheery and funny Chan's movie though. When I was walking out the theatre, I heard an 7 or 8 years old boy yelping, "Mommy, it was so horrible, when they cut the hand". Poor Mom could just say, "Lets' not discuss those scenes again. I am sorry. I didn't xpect such... Jackie Chan's movie were usually light and entertaining." ^_^ |

Being a fan of the TV series, I feel really sorry for Adrian Paul. He must have needed the money or the big screeen opprtunity so much that he agree to take part. I know, I shouldn't just give a movie bad names without clear reasons. Well. give me some time. in the meanwhile, just stay awal from The Source. |

Is the fast pace also meant to hide all the flaws in the plot? ;) I 'd vote for yes.
This 2nd installment is definitely better, tough. The acting department is much more improved, by giving less screen time to Bale and more to the the Dark Knight's friends and enemy. |

I always appreciate movies that could reflect more of animals natural characters and still be entertaining kids and adults. Happy Feet is definitely NOT one of such.
It's changing penguins too much into human miniatures (and stereotypes) to the point of being ridiculous. Plus, the movie is not funny. |
