Speed Racer Speed Racer PG
Extremely childish, but if you have a weakness for movies targeted at people with ADD, this is for you. My nephews absolutely love it, and I dont see that as a bad thing. Its so fast and flashy that it keeps my attention start to finish. Gorgeous colors.
Angels & Demons Angels & Demons PG-13
Considering how unimpressed I was with The Da Vinci Code, I am incredibly surprised how much I enjoyed this. There was awhile there when I though it might even earn a 4.5 from me. But the ending disappointed me a tad. I saw the twist coming early on, but then I thought to myself, "Nah, it cant be." Then later, I suspected the ending again, but dismissed it again. I was reluctant to admit it to myself because I am a huge fan of a certain actor involved in the twist.

However, it wasnt a terrible ending, it just wasnt the best one possible. And the rest of the movie was more than enough to make up for it. Being on the clock over a span of only a few hours, it was non-stop suspense, thrills, and action. This is a perfect example of "edge of your seat". At 2 hrs. 20 min, it did not feel long at all. And that likely had something to do with Hans Zimmer's score. It was absolutely beautiful and captivating. Sometimes you get caught up in the action or story of a movie, and dont consciously notice the score, but this is one that cant be missed.

I also greatly enjoyed the amount of decyphering and symbology used. It reminded me of National Treasure, revealing secrets about the past of the the Catholic Church, instead of the United States, both huge powers. This is one I will definitely want to add to my collection.

Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope PG
There is nothing like this movie. Nowhere can you find characters that you can feel for as much as these, or with a story that feels so real yet is a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away. The lightsaber duel is clearly dated, but there is still more emotion in it than in some later duels (i.e. Obi-Wan, Anakin, Yoda vs. Dooku). It is always fascinating to watch the beloved characters come together, as if watching it for the first time (except a few characters, such as Yoda, who we don't meet until later episodes). While watching the closing scene, why do we find ourselves as proud as Han and Luke?
Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back PG
The same as A New Hope, but more. Excitement more than you could have imagined. The battle of Hoth, a sight to be remembered. And in the Bespin cloud city, drama like has never been seen before, as the heroes are betrayed and handed over to their mortal enemy, Han is taken away, and Luke discovers that his ultimate foe is also his father. Why, as Vader says the words, do we shiver to the bone?
