My favourite genres are action, adventure, sci-fi, fantasy, (separate or all together), and animation (kids movies, not anime). I really like battle movies (i.e. sword and sandal), and an occasional musical. I also really like women who kick ass, and have a recent fascination with vampires.

Queen of the Damned
R
This is one stylish movie, one of my favourite vampire movies. It is nothing like Interview with the Vampire, in case you are wondering. Its about rockin' vampires, and Aaliyah actually had a very small role in it. All advertising for this movie was very misleading. Its mostly about Lestat's life as a rockstar, and the supernatural expert who is fascinated with him. Its very modern, but great.
The Golden Compass
PG-13
I didnt really care for the story. They seem to want to save a lot for future installments, but there was too much left out, just making it confusing and incomplete. The parts of the story they did explain weren't that interesting either. It felt very bland. I was also surprised of how inappropriate it is for children. Only after watching it did I realize it is rated PG-13. I feel that it was targeted to a much younger audience than is appropriate.
Bloodrayne
R
Wow, this is bad! I didnt believe it could really be as bad as ppl say, so I watched it anyways since Kristanna Loken is so hot. But not even she could save this movie. Everything is wrong with it. Please, believe me and save yourself.
In the Name of the King: A Dungeon Siege Tale
PG-13
This obviously isnt a quality movie, but its pretty interesting and entertaining. The acting was mostly horrible and the SFX were bad, but its fast-paced and keeps you interested if you like fantasy or Jason Statham. Bonus if you like both.

Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back
PG
The same as A New Hope, but more. Excitement more than you could have imagined. The battle of Hoth, a sight to be remembered. And in the Bespin cloud city, drama like has never been seen before, as the heroes are betrayed and handed over to their mortal enemy, Han is taken away, and Luke discovers that his ultimate foe is also his father. Why, as Vader says the words, do we shiver to the bone?
3.
Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi
PG
"The Climactic Conclusion", as original advertising called it, and climactic it was. We see the brave rescue of Han Solo, and of course, the ulitmate duel. Jedi versus Sith. Father and Son. The inner struggle. Leading to the redemption of Anakin Skywalker, and restored balance. The Empire has fallen, and why do we find ourselves as excited as the rebels? Because no other film is so real, bringing us right there, to a galaxy far, far away.
4.
Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace
PG
Although missing the old characters and their adventures against the Empire, this movie was well done for the setting it is in. The fact that this is not the same Star Wars must be accepted in order to enjoy it. Leia, Luke, Han, and Lando are not yet born. This movie is not set in the time of the Empire and its tyrannical rulers, Palpatine and Darth Vader. Vader has not been created yet, and Palpatine is only a senator, working behind the scenes to create his Empire. This is the story of the young boy who grows up to save the galaxy, along a very strange road. This movie also introduces to us an even more complex plot than we already knew in the original trilogy. Instead of surprising twists and turns concerning characters and their relations, there are many twists and turns concerning power, deceit, and the origins of elements from the original trilogy. To compliment it all, the story is laced with action, adventure, and many other spectacles. The podrace, a thrill for all your senses (reminiscent of the speeder bike chase from Episode VI, to a larger scale). "Duel of the Fates", a heartpounding duel. The battle of Naboo, intense, elaborate strategy.
5.
Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones
PG
It is extremely intriguing to watch the rise in power of the Sith. Watching the original trilogy, before the prequel trilogy even began, I could not help but wonder how it all started. It is likely the one thing that has fascinated me the most about Star Wars; the rise of the Empire and how Palpatine did it all. C-3PO's stream of puns got alittle tiresome after awhile, as well as the cheesy exchanges between Padmé and Anakin. But "Begun the Clone War has" and the battle on Geonosis makes up for some of the faults, but, unfortunately, not all. Anakin's behaviour could be defended if you wish to believe it. Since he was too old when he began training, he had already gained feelings for Padmé that he was not taught to deal with. This is why we hear him say things like, "Now that I'm with you again I'm in agony." But Padmé has no excuse for, "I truly, deeply love you." She forgot the 'madly'. As awkward as the scene of Padmé and Anakin sitting in the field is, it did do some good. We already know that Anakin thinks Palpatine is a good man, but in this scene Anakin says that he would agree with a dictatorship, if it works. This helps show Anakin's progressive fall. In this scene Padmé also acts quite out of character, rolling around in the grass, like Leia's "Hold me." But Star Wars is Star Wars.

Pirates of the Caribbean: At Worlds End
PG-13
Everything about this is so huge and epic. If you love large scale battles this is just the movie for you! Amazing, mind-blowing, large action. As with most sequels, it tried to out do its predecessors, but in this case it did! Some find the story confusing, and the movie too long. I admit, I was a little confused the first time I watched it, but after a second viewing I was not only impressed with the large scale action, but with the large story. It was perhaps too long, but not too much to bore me. Definitely the best of the three, and the most entertaining, but the first is still my favourite for sentimental reasons.

The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian
by montyJust as good as the first Narnia film but loaded with way more action. The storyline has the four Pevensie kids returning to Narnia after 1 year for them, but 1300 years for everyone else in Narnia. They team up with Prince Caspian to battle his uncle King Miraz and his army of Telmarines. Miraz and his army has driven the Narnia folk into hiding and rules all over the land. Aslan the lion hasn't been seen in years. So the kids are whisked backed to Narnia and quickly become embroiled in battle. Pretty fast moving film with gorgeous scenery, and epic battle scenes. Also several new characters besides Caspian are introduced. The best is Reepicheep a heroic mouse who loves a good battle and Trumpkin, a dwarf who has lost his faith in Aslan. All the original kids return in good form especially Anna Popplewell as the eldest girl Susan. She rocks with her bow and arrow. All in all a good followup to the first film. Can't wait for the next one.

The Last of the Mohicans
by JackNot what I expected, really.
The story is about a dying tribe called the Mohicans in which only two are left as well as one adopted white man. These three men refuse to enter the militia for English in 1757 for they want freedom. On their way to Kentucky, they intercept Indians attacking a small regiment of British including the two daughters of an English Colonel on their way to a fort. The three men lead the survivors to the fort while two love stories take place but the French and Indian War continues.
I found it very dull and boring. And Daniel Day-Lewis annoyed me.
I have nothing else to say.Not a movie I'll rewatch, that's for sure.
