Kenny Begins Kenny Begins Unrated
Swedish sci-fi comedies are about as rare as polar bears in Sahara. And whenever my country does make them, they're usually very mediocre. I wish I could say this was an exception, but sadly it ends up in the same pile. Johan Rheborg's acting is great as always, but the movie just completely misses the mark as it comes to the humor. Not a single joke or gag made me laugh, or even chuckle for that matter, and I began wondering if the scriptwriters had really seen the original show at all. Because from what I remember, it was a lot more fun and entertaining than this was. At least the spirit of the series is intact on the visual level though. It's fun how it mixes B-movie props with high quality special effects. But a movie needs more than just neat visuals, and without a soul, everything just falls flat. So as much as I hate saying it, this was a real disappointment. Worth a rent for the nostalgia, but nowhere near as good as the TV show.
The Omen The Omen R
Creepy classic, that after more than 30 years since its making, still stands strong next to its contemporary counterparts. The directing is superb and the story very captivating. Not to say spooky and quite graphic. Much like The Exorcist (which is sort of like a sister film to this one, as they're quite similiar to eachother both tone- and storywise), it has some scenes that are pretty disturbing. So if you have weak nerves or get easily upset, you may want to think twice about seeing it. For those of us that can handle it though, this is an enjoyable experience from beginning to end. Not to be missed if you're a horror fan!

The Lord of the Rings - The Return of the King The Lord of the Rings - The Return of the King PG-13
My favourite movie of all time (so far in my life that is). Even if it isn't perfect, I still feel it's a 4.9 out of 5. I'm a real sucker for the Lord of the Rings and fantasy in general, but this one is very special to me. Kudos to Peter Jackson for making such a great adaptation to screen. It really deserves its 12 oscars. Love every second of it, from start to finish. One of the few full pointers I've ever given a movie, which is saying a lot.
Braveheart Braveheart R
Epic movies don't get much better than this. Mel Gibson may be a nut to some, but he sure knows how to make quality that counts :-)
