V for Vendetta (2006,  R)
V for Vendetta
An awesome film!!! Hugo Weaving is really good in this film, while Natalie Portman shows she can act and really gets away from her restricted role in the Star Wars movies. A very clever and impressive film.
2
The Lord of the Rings - The Return of the King (2003,  PG-13)
The Lord of the Rings - The Return of the King
This has to be the best film ever made. Acting, the effects, the directing, everything is excellent. Rightly deserved the 11 Oscars that it won. A total epic.
3
Dances With Wolves (1990,  PG-13)
Dances With Wolves
A brilliant, amazing film. One of the best films i've seen. Directed by and starring Kevin Costner, the film tells the story of American Civil War veterna John Dunbar and his relationship with a Native American Sioux tribe. The cinematography, the vast landscapes and the score by John Barry are the stand outs of this film. Overall a sad and moving film which has become a classic and is a great achievement for Costner.
4
Batman Begins (2005,  PG-13)
Batman Begins
This is a far superior film than previous Batman installments. Director Christopher Nolan restores the franchise and explores the origins of Batman and why he became who he did. A much darker and more serious film, with one of my favourite casts for a movie. Everyone is cast perfectly, Christian Bale (who puts on a flawless American accent) is an excellent Batman. while Michael Caine, Gary Oldman, Liam Neeson, Morgan Freeman and Cillian Murphy lend great support. The only weak actor is Katie Holmes. However her acting does not detract from the overall quality of the film. The cast, the acting, the dialogue, the music and directing are all fantastic. One of my all time favourites!
5
The Dark Knight (2008,  PG-13)
The Dark Knight
A total masterpiece. The acting was flawless, while Heath Ledger stole the film with his incredible performance. I did not realise how great an actor he was until i saw this film. I was glued to the screen and totally forgot that it was an actor playing the Joker. The film is probably the best super hero film ever made. Yet it doesn't feel like you're watching a comic book movie. Its dark and complex, has great action scenes, yet also is intelligent. While the film lasts for almost three hours, not one minute of it was boring and it kept my attention all the way through. It was as amazing as i expected it to be and it surely lived up to all the hype. Heath Ledger certainly deserved to win the best supporting actor Oscar. Overall a fantastic film and one of the best sequels ever made in my opinion, alongside the likes of The Empire Strikes Back, Terminator 2 and Aliens.
6
Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope (1977,  PG)
Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope
A classic which is still brilliant today!
7
Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back (1980,  PG)
Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back
Probably the best star wars film. The Luke vs Vader fight is very good. Plus the ending is just legendary.
8
Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi (1983,  PG)
Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi
This film is great. The only think that i don't like that much are the ewoks. Other than that i think this film is great and rounds the saga off well. Classic.
9
The Lord of the Rings - The Fellowship of the Ring (2001,  PG-13)
The Lord of the Rings - The Fellowship of the Ring
This is a brilliant film. The first part of the epic film trilogy excellently directed by Peter Jackson. It was vey ambitious and daunting to adapt a book such as The Lord of the Rings to the big screen. But the result is amazing. I think every actor fits their role perfectly and is just as i imagined them in the book. Ian Mckellen's Gandalf is spot on while Christopher Lee's Saruman is better than i could have hoped for. The film boasts some impressive special effects thanks to Peter Jacksons effects company Weta Digital which shows its skill, one notable example being the mines of Moria. The music is also superb and matches well with the film. The cinematography is also great and i think is even more so in The Two Towers and The Return of the King. The choice of New Zealand for filming couldn't have been better and the incredible landscapes are put to good use to really bring the world of Middle Earth alive.

Although some things have been slightly changed in the film from the book, that is only to be expected and i don't think it impacts on the overall quality of the film. I have heard some people complain about the length of the films but to me that doesn't matter, because the film is so engrossing and it just sucks you right in. Overall an incredible film well worth watching along with its two impressive sequels.
10
The Lord of the Rings - The Two Towers (2002,  PG-13)
The Lord of the Rings - The Two Towers
Even better than the first, especially the battle at Helm's Deep, which i consider to be the best battle scene in any film.
11
Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace (1999,  PG)
Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace
As a big Star Wars fan, i am not so blind as to ignore the faults of this film. It was impossible for it to live up to the original films, which i think is why many were disappointed. The acting is mediocre at best and the story it has to be said, isn't exactly gripping. Two major annoyances that are often pointed out are Jar Jar Binks and the young Anakin Skywalker. Yes they are annoying, especially the former. However it is still a fun and enjoyable film to watch. The podrace is a good scene and the end lightsaber battle is probably the best part of the film. Episodes II and Episodes III pick up the game a bit, but they still exist in the shadow of their superior predecessors.
12
Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones (2002,  PG)
Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones
The dialogue is cringe worthy at times and the acting is very poor and wooden, mainly from Hayden Christensen. Some parts are quite cheesy.
However i give it five stars because i like Star Wars so i am being biased.
Ian McDiarmid was good and really comes into his own in Episode III. Ewan McGreogr was average as Obi-Wan, while i quite liked Christopher Lee as Dooku, but he seemed a little wasted.
13
Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (2005,  PG-13)
Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith
Probably the best of the prequels, but that isn't saying much. The dialogue is again mostly terrible. However this time around there is hardly any cringe worthy romance scenes between Anakin and Padme. Ewan McGregor's Obi-Wan Kenobi performance has greatly improved, but Hayden Christensen's acting is still pretty poor. The opening sequence of the film is very good, showing a huge space battle. The Anakin vs Obi-Wan fight is fast and spectacular and the Yoda vs Sidious fight is enjoyable and showcases ILM's wonderful CGI. The battle on Mustafar though is let down in my opinion by the overwhelming orange colour of the lava, It's just too much and the CGI becomes over the top. Ian McDiarmid is wonderful as Palpatine and Samuel L. Jackson gives a good turn as Mace Windu. Most things are tied up nicely in this film, however one major sub plot cut from the film was the formation of the Rebel Alliance, a key moment in Star Wars mythos. For such an important and pivotal moment, it seems stupid for it to have been cut. My rating for this film is very biased as i really like Star Wars, however i hope my review is more fair.
14
Gladiator (2000,  R)
Gladiator
Great inspiring film. Probably Ridley Scott's best film. A great story, told well which can be watched again and again. Russell Crowe's acting is excellent along with the rest of the cast. I particulalry liked Oliver Reed, who sadly died during the making of the film. Its a shame this film didn't win best score. I think the music is fantastic and possibly Hans Zimmer's best.
15
Million Dollar Baby (2004,  PG-13)
Million Dollar Baby
One of the best films i have ever seen. A true story and great acting. I didn't think this was my kind of film, primarilly for its focus on boxing. But in a way thats just one part of the story. Its just a great film. The performances are excellent, which probably goes without saying considering the cast list.
16
Man on Fire (2004,  R)
Man on Fire
"What are you gonna do?"

"What I do best. I'm gonna kill 'em. Anyone that was involved. Anybody who profited from it. Anybody who opens their eyes at me."

The story of a washed up former CIA agent turned bodyguard and the bond he forms with the little girl he is hired to protect. When the girl is kidnapped, he embarks on a mission of revenge on those responsible.
Man on Fire Pictures, Images and Photos
This is a great film, Denzal Washington and Dakota Fanning act brilliantly, and really work well on screen together. Possibly Denzel's best film, while Dakota acts really well for her age and Christopher Walken provides good support. The only downside i have is the shaky camera style. But overall this is a great film.
17
Children of Men (2006,  R)
Children of Men
"As the sound of the playgrounds faded, the despair set in. Very odd, what happens in a world without children's voices."

children of men Pictures, Images and Photos

Clive Owen stars in this wonderfully directed and quite believeable film of a dystopian future where for some unknown reason no child has been born for 18 years, with the human race therefore beginning to die out. Its brilliantly directed by Alfonso Cuarón and the acting is great from Clive Owen, who is supported well by Julianne Moore, an amusing Michael Caine as an aged hippy (who apparently based his performance on what he imagined a 70 year old John Lennon to be like) and a truely underated Pam Ferris. The futuristic nature of the film is grounded in reality and is actually quite believable and scary. It is visually impressive with many details in the background alluding to the grim history of this future in which the borders of the UK have been closed due to a flooding of refugees. What actions scenes there were, were also very impressive and very realistic and not over the top. Overall an excellent film which everyone should watch.

Schindler's List (1993,  R)
Schindler's List
Everyone should see this film. Spielberg's best film ever. The entire cast is brilliant, with excellent performances.
19
The Terminator (1984,  R)
The Terminator
Fantastic film from James Cameron. Its a total classic and Schwarzenegger's iconic role. There isn't much else to say about this film, except it is pure quality.
20
Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991,  R)
Terminator 2: Judgment Day
A classic film, starring a top Hollywood actor at his height. A real action film with great special effects which look good even today. In my opinion Arnold Schwarzenegger's best film and probably one of the best sequels in movie history.
21
House of Flying Daggers (Shi mian mai fu) (2004,  PG-13)
22
The Pianist (2002,  R)
The Pianist
A great film, which is very moving. Adrien Brody is great in this film.
23
The Prestige (2006,  PG-13)
The Prestige
An amazing movie with a great plot. Bale, Jackman and Caine give brilliant performances. Definitely a film to watch more than once.
24
Glory (1989,  R)
Glory
A wonderful moving film with a great cast. Denzel Washington won best supporting actor Oscar for his role. All the cast were superb though. One of the best war films i've seen, with great music score as well.
25
X-Men (2000,  PG-13)
X-Men
Good and just as good as X-Men 2 and X-men 3. Stays true to the comic book feel. I think most of the characters have an equal amount of screen time, which doesn't seem to happen in X-Men 2 or X-men 3 which seems to focus more on Wolverine, which is a shame. However the film is very good and has some great acting from Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen.
26
X2 (2003,  PG-13)
X2
Has loads of action and is really cool. Introduces some new characters such as Nightcrawler! My only complaint is that it focuses too much on Wolverine. But this is still one of my best films.
27
Crash (2004,  R)
Crash
This is an excellent film. With an overall theme of racism it is a powerful and emotional film. Has a great cast and made me think a lot about myself and the people around me.
28
Collateral (2004,  R)
Collateral
Well acted, stylish and very realistic. A great film, set as i recall entirely at night, against the backdrop of Los Angeles. This film reminded me that Tom Cruise can actually act. Slightly slow at the beginning, but slow doesn't always equal boring. Suspense is built up throughout and the film has some good action scenes.
29
Letters from Iwo Jima (2006,  R)
Letters from Iwo Jima
An excellent film. Ken Watanabe is brilliant.
30
Downfall (Der Untergang) (2004,  R)
Downfall (Der Untergang)
This film is superb, although its in German. But it makes it more realistic and you get used to subtitles.

Bruno Ganz is fantastic as Adolf Hitler and the guy who plays Goebbels is such a look alike for the real guy that its scary.

Tae Guk Gi: The Brotherhood of War (2004,  R)
Tae Guk Gi: The Brotherhood of War
This film was great and one of the best war films i've seen. Set during the Korean War of the 1950s. It revolves around two brothers who are forced to join the South Korean army and their continuing efforts to survive. Shows how war can affect people and tear families apart. There would have been a time when i would have overlooked any film which wasn't in english or wasn't made by Hollywood. But this film, which is Korean cinemas most successful film just shows that other countries can make films just as good if not superior to Hollywood. I have read that this film has been compared to Saving Private Ryan. Although i wouldn't really compare them both, I think this film is far better. The storyline is good and the battle scenes are fantastic and seem so incredibly real and far greater than those of Saving Private Ryan. It was especially good to see a war film about something other than the Second World War. The Korean War has often been known as the Forgotten War and this film does it justice i think. A must see!
32
Hotel Rwanda (2004,  PG-13)
Hotel Rwanda
Why Don Cheadle never won an oscar for this film and only got nominated i'll never know. Shows the horror of the genocide in Rwanda. A film everyone should see.
33
Lord of War (2005,  R)
Lord of War
A clever and thought provoking film. Great stuff.
34
Forrest Gump (1994,  PG-13)
Forrest Gump
I only saw this film fairly recently, after most people had already seen it. I was surprised at how good it was and how much i enjoyed it. I enjoyed Tom Hanks' performance and i am not usually a massive fan of Tom Hanks, but i am beginning to like him as an actor more and more. The story flows perfectly and is edited perfectly along with the music. A wonderful film. The director Robert Zemeckis has also become one of my favourites.
35
Born on the Fourth of July (1989,  R)
Born on the Fourth of July
An outstanding powerful performance by Tom Cruise. Harrowing and thought provoking. This has to be Oliver Stone's best film and Tom Cruise's best performance. It's harrowing and hard hitting, one of the best.
36
I, Robot (2004,  PG-13)
I, Robot
Will Smith is really good in this film and the part where the robots attack his car is pretty impressive.
37
The Last Samurai (2003,  R)
The Last Samurai
I feel this film is a bit underrated. Based loosely upon the Satsuma Rebellion of 1877, it follows an American army captain played by Tom Cruise, who haunted by his past and is disillusioned with the American military. He is hired to train the Japanese army into a modern force, so as to erradicate the Samurai. However Cruise's character instead finds respect and admiration for the Samurai and finds himself between the two sides.

Cruise often gets a lot of criticism, which i feel is unwarrented. His acting is very good, especially in this film. Ken Watanabe is the standout though, with a really great performance.
38
Troy (2004,  R)
Troy
*The Director's Cut*

A far superior film, to the theatrical version. Far better pace to the film. I can't fault it. If you found yourself bored by the theatrical version, watch the director's cut as it is far better.
39
Kingdom of Heaven (2005,  R)
Kingdom of Heaven
This is a good film really. The action scenes are good and it does have a good cast and a very good story. Ridley Scott is a great director. The film was much better the second time round.
40
King Arthur (2004,  PG-13)
King Arthur
This film is good for only one reason. Keira Knightley's in it. No seriously this is a good film. I had to watch it again to fully like it but now i think its great. I really like Hans Zimmer's musical score in this film as well. Overall regardless of whether or not this has any historical basis, it is still a fun film to watch and i really like it.
41
Jurassic Park (1993,  PG-13)
Jurassic Park
One of Spielberg's best. The dinosaurs are great, even today. I like all the actors in in it: Sam Neil, Jeff Goldblum, Richard Attenborough etc. A total classic!
42
Mission: Impossible III (2006,  PG-13)
Mission: Impossible III
"Who are you? What's you're name? Do you have a wife? A girlfriend? Because if you do, I'm gonna find her. I'm gonna hurt her. I'm gonna make her bleed, and cry, and call out your name. And then I'm gonna find you,and kill you right in front of her."

Mission Impossible II was total garbage, but this film makes up for it. Fantastic and really exciting action, with good performances throughout. Philip Seymour Hoffman was a pretty good villian. Other supporting cast members such as Ving Rhames and Maggie Q are good. The only complaint i can have about this film is the "Rabbits Foot." It is never explained what it is exactly. We are just led to believe it is some kind of weapon or technology which poses a dir threat if it falls into the wrong hands. I don't know whether its just lazy writing with it never being explained, but it is a bit silly. Apart from that this is an excellent action film.
43
Toy Story (1995,  G)
Toy Story
The first and the best computer animated film. The animation is flawless, the storyline is original and funny, the voice actors are perfect. Pure genius. This film never gets old.
44
Toy Story 2 (1999,  G)
Toy Story 2
Just as good as the first!
45
American History X (1998,  R)
American History X
This was a really powerful film. All i can say is, go see it. Edward Norton's acting is superb.
46
El Laberinto del Fauno (Pan's Labyrinth) (2006,  R)
El Laberinto del Fauno (Pan's Labyrinth)
This is a brilliant film and was unlike anything i'd seen before. The cinematography is wonderful and the entire story is captivating, yet haunting. The film has been called a fairy tale for adults and that is true in some sense. The film can be quite violent and graphic in places and errily scary in others. This is a great film and deserves to be seen.
47
Casino Royale (2006,  PG-13)
Casino Royale
This was a great film! After all the hype and speculation of whether Craig would be a good Bond or not i now think that he is great in the role. The film dispenses with the silly gadgets and sexual innuendo and litle quips which were part of the old Bond fillms. This one is much more realistic and sets up the character as the Bond we all know and goes back to his roots when he first started as a 00 agent. This film is a reboot of the James Bond franchise much as Batman Begins was with Batman and it works really well. Also when i actually think of the previous James Bond films now with their gadgets and jokes it seems almost comical and after seeing this film i think it would be hard for me to take them seriously. As was the case when seeing Goldeneye recently, although that is one of the better Bond films in my opinion. To be honest I didn't think the film was that good up until Bond met Vesper. From then on the film really picked up and it was really good. At first i thought the opening song wasn't very exciting or interesting but then it kind of stuck in my head lol. Overall the film was great and i would recommend it! Can't wait for the sequel.
48
Come and See (Idi i smotri) (1985,  Unrated)
Come and See (Idi i smotri)
One of the most disturbing films i've ever seen. However its also probably the greatest war film ever made. People who say Saving Private Ryan is the greatest war film, should watch this. All other war films pale in comparison.
49
War of the Worlds (2005,  PG-13)
War of the Worlds
A real good film. I think it has good acting from Tom Cruise and especailly from Dakota Fanning who plays the little girl in the film. The effects are awesome. Good stuff!
50
Transformers (2007,  PG-13)
Transformers
Wow this film was really good. I don't know why Michael Bay gets slagged off by so many people. He may not be perfect, but he is without doubt in my opinion the greatest director of action movies. This movie has loads of action and the CGI was incredible and was the best i've ever seen. ILM have really proven they're the best in the special effects industry with only Weta Digital being anywhere close. But it will take a lot for another film to surpass the CGI seen in Transformers. Certainly one of the best sci-fi actin movies i've ever seen.
51
Freedom Writers (2007,  PG-13)
Freedom Writers
A really good film, which at first glance seemed cliched. However this true story has resonance with today's Britain and i think all young people should watch this film. This film is a lot more than it seems and is certainly worth seeing.
52
25th Hour (2002,  R)
25th Hour
Edward Norton gives yet another great performance!
53
Mrs. Doubtfire (1993,  PG-13)
Mrs. Doubtfire
Robin Williams is a total legend in this film. Pure comedy! I can always watch this film again and again and i never get tired of it. A very funny film which is a must see!
54
The Naked Gun - From the Files of Police Squad! (1988,  PG-13)
The Naked Gun - From the Files of Police Squad!
Wacky, random and crazy. But completly hilarious. Leslie Nielsen is just sooo funny.
55
The Naked Gun 2 1/2: The Smell of Fear (1991,  PG-13)
The Naked Gun 2 1/2: The Smell of Fear
Sooo funny. You can't help but laugh outloud when watching the Naked Gun series. Hilarious one liners and crazy gags.
56
The Naked Gun 33 1/3: the Final Insult (1994,  PG-13)
The Naked Gun 33 1/3: the Final Insult
Leslie Nielsen is a total legend in this film. The Academy Awards part is hillarious! "It's the bomb!"
57
Oliver! (1968,  G)
Oliver!
Just fun to watch...and sing along with...joke
58
Back to the Future (1985,  PG)
Back to the Future
"If my calculations are correct, when this baby hits eighty-eight miles per hour... you're gonna see some serious shit."

Back to the Future Pictures, Images and Photos

The iconic film of the 80s, with Michael J. Fox as Mcfly and Christopher Lloyd as the wacky Doc Brown, who has made a DeLorean into a time machine. McFly ends up going back in time from 1985 to 1955 and meeting his parents who he must help get together, otherwise he will never be born. The story is great and really well delivered, with some good performances. This film became a film phenomenon adored by many as well as producing two sequels. I just hope that this is never remade or "rebooted."
59
Fight Club (1999,  R)
Fight Club
A bizzare yet highly entertaining film. Edward Norton and Brad Pitt were great. This is a film you definitely have to watch twice.
60
The Green Mile (1999,  R)
The Green Mile
This was a great film. Not really a fan of Tom Hanks but i really liked him in this film. Its really good and has some brilliant performances with a very interesting plot.
61
X-Men: The Last Stand (2006,  PG-13)
X-Men: The Last Stand
This X-men film was great. At the start i didn't like it, but then the action started and i loved it. Some major surprises and twists in the film. Watch the end of the credits for an extra scene! I think the character of Angel was totally wasted, while having no explanation for the absence of Nightcrawler was stupid. Overall it was quite good, with Stewart and McKellen being the outstanding performers of the film. The effects of the film were quality as well. Here's hoping they make X-Men 4!
62
The Assassination of Richard Nixon (2004,  R)
The Assassination of Richard Nixon
I'd never seen a film with Sean Penn in before, but his performance in this film was one of the best i've seen. The overall message is relevant to today as much as it was to the 1970s America. When there is "plenty for the few and few for the plenty." Go see this film, its great.
63
Tears of the Sun (2003,  R)
Tears of the Sun
Possibly the best Bruce Willis film i've seen since his Die Hard days, along with The Sixth Sense. Great film, good acting, good script. No gung-ho American nonesense as i expected it would be. Another good film (along with Blood Diamond, Hotel Rwanda and Lord of War)highlighting the plight of Africa
64
Blood Diamond (2006,  R)
Blood Diamond
"Sometimes I wonder... will God ever forgive us for what we've done to each other? Then I look around and I realize... God left this place a long time ago."

I had been wanting to see this film since it came out, after watching Edward Zwick's Glory and The Last Samurai. Both films, which i really enjoyed. Blood Diamond is another good film by Zwick. The acting was top notch, especially by Djimon Hounsou who seemed to outshine DiCaprio. However DiCaprio's acting was also very good and this is probably the first film i have fully watched which had DiCaprio in it, but now i am interested in watching more of his films. Jennifer Connelly's acting was also good too. The story was well written. The film had action as well as a moral tale to it as well. Maybe a bit slow in parts, but the quality action and acting more than made up for it. Overall a great film.
65
Alien (1979,  R)
Alien
One of the greatest sci-fi films ever made. A combination of sci-fi horror this film is excellent. Brilliantly directed by Ridley Scott with excellent special effects and make up even for today. Has one of the most famous scenes in cinema history and the film works so well on a scary level by never actualy shoing the audience a clear full shot of the alien. Great stuff, along with its just as good sequel.
66
The Butterfly Effect (2004,  R)
The Butterfly Effect
A complex, yet utterly engrossng story which keeps you on the edge of your seat. The acting from Ashton Kutcher and Amy Smart actually surprised me as it was very good. The film is cleverly made with a lot of effort having gone into it. The film is thought provoking yet also sad and tragic.
67
Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind (2004,  R)
Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind
Really enjoyed this film. Wonderfully eccentric and strange, yet captivating and emotive. The cast were excellent. Kudos to Carrey and Winslet whose acting was brilliant. Good acting also from the rest of the cast. The dialogue in the film was great and seemed so natural. Could be a bit confusing the first time you watch it, but its still really good.
68
The Majestic (2001,  PG)
The Majestic
Befoe seeing this film my opinion of Jim Carrey was very low. I thought he couldn't act and he only did stupid wacky films like Ace Ventura etc. Well after seeing this film i have changed my opinion. Carrey proves he can act in this film, which is wonderfully directed by Frank Darabont. The story is good and the entire film just had a likeability about it which i didn't expect. All in all a very good film and worth seeing.
69
Aliens (1986,  R)
Aliens
Possibly one of the greatest film sequels of all time, alongside the likes of Terminator 2 (also a James Cameron film), and The Empire Strikes back. The effects are great even today, specifically the aliens, who look disgusting and creepy. More action than the first Alien film, this still builds up suspense well and has a fantastic ending. The score to the film is also very good and well recognised, as part of it has often been used in trailers. James Horner did a good job especially as he basically composed the score overnight. By most accounts James Cameron is a difficult director to work with and is something of a perfectionist. He knows what he wants and he usually gets it and produces outstanding films.
70
Die Hard (1988,  R)
Die Hard
"Yippee-ki-yay, motherfucker"

Bruce Willi's iconic role, in possibly the best action movie ever made. This set the benchmark for action movies since. The plot revolves around wise cracking New York cop John McClane who has come to Los Angeles to his wife's work's christmas party on the upper levels of a high rise building. However the party is crashed by a gang of German terrorists led by Alan Rickman. There isn't much else to say except if you haven't seen this film, then you really must!
71
Pirates of the Caribbean - The Curse of the Black Pearl (2003,  PG-13)
Pirates of the Caribbean - The Curse of the Black Pearl
This a really cool film with a great cast. Johnny Depp is really funny and plays his part well. It had the potential to be a total mess this film i think, but it is done brilliantly. A fun enjoyable adventure film.
72
Star Trek - First Contact (1996,  PG-13)
Star Trek - First Contact
This is a truly good Star Trek film and can be watched by pretty much anyone. You don't have to like or know Star Trek. Good acting, lots of action and great special effects which serve a purpose and aren't just there to look good. The script is pretty good and a lot better than the previous film "Generations". The musical score is also great as well. Patrick Stewert is especially good, as is Alice Krige as the Borg Queen. Great Stuff!
73
King Kong (2005,  PG-13)
King Kong
Great film. Effects are awsome. Good story, although for the first part of the film its all in New York. However its worth the wait because once they get on the island, the film really kicks off.
74
Batman (1989,  PG-13)
Batman
This is the second best Batman film next to Batman Begins. Jack Nicholson is brilliant as the Joker.
75

Die Hard 2 (Die Hard 2: Die Harder) (1990,  R)
Die Hard 2 (Die Hard 2: Die Harder)
As sequels go, this is pretty good. Its difficult to decide whether this is better than the first one. I would say its just as good.

Die Hard With a Vengeance (Die Hard 3) (1995,  R)
Die Hard With a Vengeance (Die Hard 3)
I think this film just about beats Die Hard 2. Bruce Willis and Samuel L Jackson are good together. Jeremy Irons was a fairly good bad guy. However the first Die Hard is still the best in my opinion.

Star Trek Generations (1994,  PG)
Star Trek Generations
The basic premise of this film was good. Uniting Picard and Kirk in a film which would effectively "pass the torch" so to speak. However in reality the film proves to be a bit of a let down. The plot really doesn't make that much sense. An energy ribbon called the nexus travels through the galaxy and some mad man wants to get back to it for some reason.....i really don't know. The whole idea of this nexus doesn't seem to have been thought out very well and it is somewhat confusing. The destruction of the Enterprise-D, while having good special effects was souless and seemed done just for the sake of it. The lighting in the film seemed darker on board the ship and it just seemed odd. Also the inconsistency with the uniforms of characters changing from scene to scene, while not a major issue, just looks poor and rather odd. The script was as Malcolm McDowell is alleged to have said "shit". The characterisation for many of the cast seemed off and not right to what was established in the tv show. If you like Star Trek: The Next Generation then its worth watching at least once. However if you are not then i wouldn't bother.

The Truman Show (1998,  PG)
The Truman Show
"We accept the reality of the world with which we are presented."

Jim Carrey is brilliant as Truman Burbank, the man who has no idea that his entire life has been filmed as a tv show since his birth and his home town is a gigantic set. Its great to see Carrey in a dramatic role and he plays it wonderfully. The film is an intelligent look at today's media and television as well as the idea of reality and it is well directed by Peter Weir. I think this film deserved an Oscar, but no such luck sadly. This is definitely one to watch, even if you don't like Jim Carrey. It might just change your mind.

War Made Easy: How Presidents & Pundits Keep Spinning Us to Death (2007,  Unrated)
War Made Easy: How Presidents & Pundits Keep Spinning Us to Death
"We Americans are the ultimate innocents. We are forever desperate to believe that this time the government is telling us the truth"

An insightful, eye opening documentary narrated by Sean Penn, which uses archive footage from past presidencies to highlight the United State's media's insidious propaganda and compicity with the U.S government to shape public opinion and sell war to the American people, from Iraq to Vietnam. The film is compelling, persuasive and utterly fascinating. I actually watched this on youtube, but its available on dvd. Either way i would recommend you watch it.

Hijacking Catastrophe: 9/11, Fear & the Selling of American Empire (2004,  PG)
Hijacking Catastrophe: 9/11, Fear & the Selling of American Empire
An excellent documentary. I would give it six stars if i could. At first i was unsure when i first started watching it, but it turned out to be a very enlightening and i feel important film. Incase people are misled by the film poster this film is not specifically about 9/11 or 9/11 conspiracies as such, like the film Loose Change. This film is a thoughtful analysis of American neo-conservatism and its desire to spread American hegemony through military might. How the attacks on 9/11 have been used as justification to advance an agressive foreign policy and the erroding of civil liberties and the use of propaganda and media manipulation to achieve such goals. I implore people to just give up an hour of their time to watch this film and deicde for themselves before just dismissing it. This film isn't some crack-pot conspiracy film with half-baked theories and unjustifiable statements. This is an educational and somewhat frightening expose' of what is really going on.

A fantastic film with Clint Eastwood on top form. A really good story, with drama and elements of humour as well. Definitely one to watch!
