Die Hard 5.0 Stars
It has taken me a while to actually write a review for this movie, because it is honestly so awesomely action packed I don't know where to start. Therefore all I will say is that this is definitely the greatest action movie ever made, and has been made a template for a lot of more modern action films as well. Being my favourite action film, and also my favourite film I would like to say this movie just kicks a lot of ass!

Pulp Fiction (1994,  R)
Pulp Fiction 5.0 Stars
Every now and then a movie comes along that is just amazing. This is one of those movies. With a perfect script, great acting, phenomenal directing, and a great plot. This movie has so much to offer, and one cannot digest all of it in just one sitting. Having watched this movie at least 15 times I think I am finally ready to write a good review.
This movie first off is Quentin Tarantino's masterpiece, and the greatest film to come out of the 90's. It is a shame that his other stuff after this has come to the same calibur (all i can say is thank god he sold the script for Natural Born Killers instead of this one).
This movie is one of those that you never forget, with great quotes (Royale with Cheese, Ezekiel 25:17, Zed's Dead, get medieval on yo ass!) great characters, and great moments (OD'in, dancin, gimpin).
My favourite part of this movie though is pace (surprisingly fast for a 2 1/2 hour movie) and the timeline. Switching from past to present to future and on the first viewing you're like "WTF just happenend". The pace of this movie is also perfect, a perfect example of tension and release drawing you in for a great climax and satisfying conclusion then toning it down so you can get your bearings once again .... and repeat.
Also something I like about this film (and all of Tarantino's films) is that Tarantino knows how to write a screenplay. The dialogue is perfect, crazy lines, a broad foray of topics and knowledge, and the constant mixing of Jules finer linguistics with Vic Vega's harsh colloquial style of orating is a masterpiece in it of itself.
Finally I want to say the choice of actors in phenomenal. I have never seen a movie where so many big name actors have such good chemistry with one another. Also it has some of my favs from Sam Jackson, Travolta, Willis, Ving Rhames, Tim Roth, Harvey Keitel, and the unforgettable Christopher Walken (in his best performance ever!).
So in conclusion everyone should see this film, and you have not lived until.

American Psycho (2000,  R)
American Psycho 4.5 Stars
Everything about this film to me is perfect. From the directing to the cinematography to the outstanding acting by Christian Bale to the script and the supporting cast.

The constant dark atmosphere in this film is probably my favourite part. Going from horrific to outrageously funny at some parts is just one ways of the brilliance of the film. Also, the character development is flawless, getting inside Patrick Bateman's head allows the viewer to either sympathize or hate him.

Definitely the part that makes the movie though is Christian Bale. His presence is ominous and frightening to the viewer, but he tries so hard to present a normal image to his associates. Bale's characterization of Bateman is I think the reason this movie is so good, because I honestly could not think of anyone who would do as good a job.

Possibly the greatest slasher film to come out of the 80's (dont forget Halloween was '79) and is a landmark that brought originality back into the slasher film genre. This movie scares the crap outta you and does not let up. From start to finish it is unrelenting scares, chills, suspense, paranoia, and pure adrenaline. SEE THIS MOVIE!

Enemy at the Gates (2001,  R)

This movie is probably my favourite war movie because of so many different things. First off the acting is phenomenal with Jude Law, Joseph Fiennes, Bob Hoskins as Lenins right hand man, and Ed Harris as the German sniper, and of couse the awesome accompanying acting from Ron Perlman. This movie is also great visually as the sets in Stalingrad are fantastic, the uniforms are great, the story is inspiring and heroic, and the elements of history are there as well. The thing that sets this movie over my second favourite war movie (don't wanna sound cliché but what are ya gonna do) Saving Private Ryan is mostly the ending of this movie (though i am not saying that Saving Private Ryan doesn't have a great ending). The reason the ending in this movie is so great is so many damn things happen at such a rapid rate, and they range from "WHAT THE FUCK HAPPENED" to "omg that's so heartwarming". As well to top it off which made me go insane was the western stand-off. If you like westerns you will flip your shit after you see this, mostly because all this serious stuff is happening, and something pivotal has occured and then BAM!! quickly zooms in on the guys face as he contorts in fear, and BAM!! goes on the other guys face who is all serious... and the BAM!!! they face off.. and the BAM!! the shots are fired. THIS MOVIE IS AMAZING!!! just thought i'd reitterate. THanks for listening (or reading if you prefer) because I love this movie and I want to pass on my passion to others so they can also realize the genius that is put into filmmaking.

WOW! this movie blew me away, and i can't believe that people don't like Nic Cage, its annoying how peoples view of him is limited to only shit like Ghost Rider and Wicker Man, and National Treasure. Newayz, see this movie, it is the reason action movies are awesome, and it is a shame that they have yet to make hardly any movies like this since the start of the century
