Although I liked the look and the pacing of this this film I never really connected with any of the characters. Not sure if it was bad audio in the theatre or just me but half the time it was difficult to understand what motor mouth Holmes was saying. The most memorable scene was probably the boxing match with slow motion strategy and real time execution. Even a non-fan of boxing like me could appreciate what Ritchie did with this scene.

Gives a real appreciation for the courage, forgiveness, self control and strategy it took to unite South Africa in the wake of an oppressive regime. Morgan Freeman is a great actor. Highly recommended!

I also recommend "Skin", another film set in South Africa and starring Sophie Okonedo and Sam Neil. It is based on the true story of Sandra Laing, a girl who was born with "Negro/African" features to two 'white" Afrikaaner parents during Apartheid.
