| I have always loved movies. Ever since seeing "Escape From Alcatraz" "Smokey and the Bandit" and "Jaws" on the big screen I was hooked. Of course "Star Wars" soon followed and it was over from there. I enjoy most kind of movies, but not too crazy about musicals. I also enjoy being outside, camping, bicycling, hiking, watching sports, reading, plays, good food, cooking, and many other interests. Drop a line and tell me your fav movies. |

Magnolia

OK, this was an incredibly well made film. I love the long shots, and the way each scene told a little bit of the story. You can tell P.T. Anderson truly enjoyed making this film. The acting is top notch, even from Cruise. However, I feel the story ran out of gas at the end and some stories were not given the attention they deserved. One observation, it must be in Julianne Moore's contact that she can't wear a bra in any movie she makes. Not that I am complaining.
No Country for Old Men

Pretty damn well put together movie. Loved the scene composition and the script was vintage Coen Bros. I still like There Will Be Blood a little more, but I can see how this film won the Oscars it did.
Le Pacte des loups (Brotherhood of the Wolf)
R
Very stylish thriller. There are some fantastic fight scenes and visuals. I'm surprised the French came up with something like this. Worth checking out, but it runs a little long.
Skinwalkers (2007)
PG-13
Decent werewolf movie. I like the Native American story line. It also has some nice visuals. It went old school with the creature effects, but it works here. It does set things up for a sequel that could be promising. Think Lost Boys, Underworld, and Near Dark, but with all werewolves instead of vampires.
Children of Men
R
One of the best futuristic thrillers in a while The director creates a believably bleak world that rivals Blade Runner. One of my new favorite movies.
Iron Man
PG-13
OK, this is one of the best comic adaptations ever. I never really got into the comic, but I am a fan of this movie. The effects look incredible. Downey Jr. Bridges are perfectly cast. Oh, stay through all the credits too. Then end will totally geek you out!

Dances With Wolves

One of my all time favorites. Incredible story. Director's cut is worth the extra half hour.
2.
Aliens (Alien 2)

One of the rare cases where the sequel is better than the original. One of my favs and again, watch the director's cut, definitely worth it.
4.
Blade Runner

Ground breaking Sci-fi. Set the standard for modern sci-fi. Still holds up today. Director's cut is better than original release.
