starts off really gritty, never leaves go of that feel, which is cool, but it tries too hard to be seven and saw, but never really capturing the mood, those films managed, theres a story going on adding up to some relevation, which doesent really pay off, and merissa george looks board in a role not that interesting

Made in Britain

worth it for roths performance, his debut film, a look at youth culture in 80s britain, when thatcher and high unemployment was destroying young peoples hopes, roth is a young kid, whos turned skinhead, and although given chances to succeed by employment officers and youth offender workers, just doesent seem to care, not a thorough look at the culture of time, a brief running time, does pass time quickly, and theres no clear outcome, but it does show a interesting time, and roth really is superb here, showing a talent to watch for future ,

If you don't like blood, just cover your eyes for a minute.

Interesting plot with a few twists and turns. One should always do research on the medical staff before any type of surgery.

It amazes me that 30,000 + patients have experienced anesthetic awareness.

Wild At Heart

david lynch dircts cage and dern, and aparently connected to wizard of oz in some david lynch way, roll with it, some great performances, and more acessible than most lynch ilms, but still a strange ride, enjoyable but strange, cage doing his worst, best elvis, even though hes not elvis, and hes good, and willem dafoe, just plain weird,

Matchstick Men

ridley scott leisurely directs nic cage, in a great con caper, and in alison lohan a superb performance as his daughter, he never knew he had, and having to get her mixed up in his dealings with cons, and especially a con that hes working on, which will make him very rich, con really is the name of the game in this film, and along with sam rockwells charactor along for the ride, its hard to tell whos doing who, and not knowing how its going to go, is interesting to watch, and believe me, the outcome is not what youll expect, the whole film s handled well by scott, shot nicely, with some great moments, cage, plays his manic cage, with lots of quirks, which i know a lt of people dont like, but hes great, probely in my top 5 ridley scott films

Starter for Ten (Starter for 10)

another winning role for james mcavoy, like ewen mcgregor in 90s, hes really making name for him self, here hes great as a college kid, dreaming of apearing on a famous british college show, and struggles along the way to get his dream, a light hearted look, with a really cool 80s setting, great soundtrack and humour, runs along quite nicely

City by the Sea

A film that questions family loyalty and doing the right thing. Strong performances by De Niro and McDormand and an intriguing story.

Boys Don't Cry

This film left me utterly speechless, such an emotionally charged story based on real events.

This has to be Hillary Swank's role of a lifetime, she obviously put everything into playing this part.

This film is described as 'Powerful and shocking' which describes it perfectly, I felt the power of this film, for quite a while after watching.

Year of the Dog

molly shannon, is exellent as a dog lover, who loses her pet dog, and cant handle situation, from here she gets involved with peter saarsgard, another dog lover, and che convinces her to get into dog adoption, from here she gets a new lease of life and a new respect for animal life, and developes strong feelings towards treatment of animals, through this, trying to deal with her sister, unsympathetic boss, best friend and next door neighbour, who may have had a hand in killing her pet dog, a simpathetic and honest look at owners and feeling tpowards there pet best friends, grief, death causes, and what close friends and colleges make of it, a great indie feel, so another great american indie, all cast are on fine form, including john c rley in a small role as unsimpathetic next door neighbour, quite sad at times too

In America

At first impressions this film seemed to be quite slow moving and didn't seem to be heading in any particular direction, however as the storyline progresses you become emotionally involved with the intense performances by the whole cast.

Paddy of course is my favourite British actor and is the master of versitility, Samantha Morton, probably one of England's best actresses, but the person who really stood out in this film for me and has in other films recently is Djimon Housou. I can also not pass the opportunity to priase the two girls in this film who really showed great acting skills.

Directed by Jim Sheridan and based on events in his life, the extra features make interesting viewing and are worth taking a look.

Be Kind Rewind

michael gondry, the genius behind eternal sunshine of the spotless mind, brings his tricks to the table once more, as two guys,, jack black and mos def, acidentally erase there tapes in there video store, so to not get caught, remake classics, when customers ask for them, things turn out great, and become local celebrities, while regenerating there business, for danny glover, and discovering there passion, superbly done, in def and black, two chAractors which are likeable, even though nitwits, and we see director gondery bringing his imagination to table, all the remakes atempted are fun to watch as they atemp to make them, and shows what gondry is great at, in camera trickery and basic craftmenship, the music is trippy, and again coming off eternal sunshine, and science of sleep, very similer, its easy to see, what this film may be saying, there oviously independent filmmakers, and the massive blockbuster type store is hollywood, and there trying to compete, it works well, it does get sentimental at end, but by then they won you over, a joy to watch

Rambo (Rambo IV)

im not gonna say this is great, its not, its not a great story, and dull in parts, and stallone, not that great to watch, a shadow of his former rambo self, but, its soooo violent, in days when studios water there products down to get a rating so kids can watch, its refreshing to see a film, that clearly doesent care about that, heads explode, bodies crumble to bits, knifes right through bodies, and throats pulled out, gun shot wounds the size of pizzas, nothings left to imagination, weve gone back to the 80s, and for a while its great to watch, a terrific climax, and it may have been twenty years since rambo 3, but that was so bad, it was worth a try, not as bad as it could have been, a lot better actually

A childhood classic film.. Matthaw Brodrick sooo young.. & Ally Sheedy iz sooo hawt!


A very real wake up call into what can happen if a machine goes on the fritz.. A very real problem considering most technology is controled by machine

Twelve and Holding (12 and Holding)

after a disater at a treehouse, where a group of friends meet, results in the death of a brother, the rival kids responsible, get a easy ride, meanwhile the other kidstry to get on with there lives, dealing with revenge, overweight, fasination with aolder man and other family issues, the 3 kid leads, who are dealing with these problems, handle them selves well acting honors all round, and deal with very relevent issues, a great indie feel to this as well and well directed, a interesting film and angle on kids lives
