Nights in Rodanthe - PG-13 "...But there's another kind of love... one that gives you the courage to be better than you are, not less than you are. One that makes you feel that anything is possible. I want you to know that you can have that. I want you to hold out for it. I want you to know you deserve it..."

"Nights in Rodanthe" kinda lacks the ability to tug at your heart strings compared to "The Notebook" but it's still a very touching movie in its own right. The whole point of the film is within the quote above. Sometimes the love we have for each other is an empty kind of love and it takes a special person to make you understand that love can be so much more than you ever imagined possible...and that you're worth every loving ounce...

Babylon A.D. - PG-13 Umm...I'm really not sure what to think of this one. The action-packed scenes are alright but the story feels empty and rushed. Ehh.. March 1, 2009

Saw V - R I did like this film but not nearly as much as I liked the other 4. The story line is somewhat harder to follow. Seems like there are all these loose ends they tried cleaing up -- and they did, but not very well. It was very confusing. It's one thing to have a twisted story, but completely another when there are 10 different tangents to keep track off. The traps are still kinda intense, but the ones in the first three are better. The Visitor - PG-13 A slow moving film worth sitting through.

The Visitor captures the loneliness and boring life of, Walter (Jenkins), a widowed college professor who "pretends to be busy" so that it actually looks like he's working when in fact he's really not. He's clearly in a rut; mentally and emotionally.

To help himself get through each painstaking day, he started taking piano lessons. His wife was a great pianist and this was his way of coping with the loss...although he wasn't all that good.

The story really begins when Walter must go to New York to represent the college at an economics convention. Upon arriving at his apartment there, he stumbles upon a young immigrant couple who have been living in Walter's apartment for a few weeks. It was unbeknownst to them that the apartment was owned by someone else.

Walter was kind enough to allow the couple to stay for a few more days so they could make other living arrangements. Within a few days a friendship is born between the two men. Tarek (Steiman) teaches Walter to play the drum.

The Drum allows Walter to be a freer person. He no longer needs to think, he can just be. He can feel the rhythm and allow it to flow through him.

The story continues when Tarek gets arrested in the subway over a simple misunderstanding. That misunderstanding could catapult Tarek into a legal battle that may or may not be won. And after not hearing from her son in a few days, Tarek's mother comes to N.Y. to find out why. And upon doing so, a romance ensues between her and Walter.

The film is slow moving, yet captivating. The ending doesn't seem complete because it finishes abruptly. But otherwise a spectacular film.
