    by Dave
I feel a little let down by the Simpsons movie i expected it to be amazing and although it was really funny and had some great bits in i came out feeling short changed for a film thats been 20 years in the making there was nothing new on offer and it did just feel like an extended episode :( why oh why did we not go and see transformers!!! dammit

For any fans of Anime this series of movies is now considered the bench mark for all future Anime titles which is a big compliment.

This film had a budget of $4m Dollars and i think they must have spent about that on bullets i honestly can say hand on heart i have never seen so many guns fired in a movie maybe collectively in all the films ive seen, with a body count of 307 this film is nothing but Action the entire way through. Normally i watch all World Cinema subtitled and im ashamed to say i had to watch this in dubbed english just to keep up with the action.

Welcome to Collinwood Welcome to Collinwood
    by Dave
You know when a film comes along every 10 years or so you can refer to as the greatest movies ever made, I.e gone with the wind , The Godfather, Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, well Welcome to Collingwood is not one of those movies whilst its not the worst movie ive ever seen its 3rd on my list for worst films ever it is truly awful and i'd rathe stick a rabid hamster down my trousers than endure that film ever again and to make it worse i actually paid money for it and own the bloody thing

    Cape Fear Cape Fear
    by Dave
Despite this movie being a remake Robert denrio made this role his own in much the same way as hopkins in silence of the lambs, for anyone who watches the simpsons you'll be somewhat familiar with the plot Sideshow bob pursues the family to cape fear (Or wherever it was in the episode i just know i'll get corrected for this). Deniro manages to be a tad scarier than bob though as he terrorises the attorney that improperly defended him and pursues his daughter leaving a trail of bodies in his wake this is a great suspsense thriller for anyone that enjoys that type of film and i'd definately recommend it to my friends so thats what im doing. i havent seen the original so i have no real comparison

Will not be the greatest movie you'll ever see in your life time but this small budget grindhouse movie from the man that introduced Freddy Kruger to our nightmares is worth a watch.
The Last House on the Left The Last House on the Left
    by Dave
One of if not the first Wes Craven movie im not overly sure,Many people berated this film as being to graphic for its time and found it a little hard to swallow due to a group rape scene and on those scenes chose to leave the cinema. now im to young to remember that luckily but the people who walked out missed what can only be described as a Black Comedy meets Grindhouse movie that never takes itself to seriously yes there are scenes in this movie that wont be to everyones taste but by the end of the movie you'll have forgotten the rape and wrong doing and be laughing at what must have been the catalalyst for John Hughes's Home Alone films. the traps set up by the victims family are very much the way an adult Kevin Mccalister would have done it. all in all i'd say this movie is worth a watch i really enjoyed it despite the low budget this film does deliver 2 things shocks and laughs.

Koroshiya 1 (Ichi the Killer) Koroshiya 1 (Ichi the Killer)
    by Dave
From the twisted and sometimes sadistic mind of Miike Takashi Ichi the Killer is truly an evil movie dont get me wrong i loved every minute of it but i have never seen so much violence and blood and gore in one movie, out of the films i have seen that he has directed this is by far the sickest although in saying that i am yet to watch Visitor Q and why that is not strictly the same kind of movie it apparently has alot of scenes of rape incest and various other taboo subjects. Miike's attempt to shock the audience with the extremes the characters will go to within this movie is very apparent and it doesnt really leave you anywhere else to look but at the carnage that follows, all in all for people that like to be shocked and enjoy Miike films this is a must.

Fantastic movie i actually enjoyed this more than Oldboy, a story about a young girl who is made to take the blame and serve a prison sentence for abducting and murdering a small child, upon release she seeks out justice and leaves a trail of bodies in her wake. until finally finding the murderer and bringing him to justice the way it should be for those sorts of crimes leaving the decision in the hands of the murdered childrens familes, do they choose to hand him over to the police or do they choose to lay down the plastic sheets and break out the axes and sharp tools to have there way with him. i recommend this to anyone who has seen oldboy but not the other parts of the vengence trilogy.

A truly beautiful film, brilliant direction guiding the audience through the struggles and the thurst for acceptence of John Merrick, this film really pulled on my heart strings and brought a tear to my eye, i recommend this to any movie goer that wants to have an experience rather than just sitting down for your run of the mill hollywood blockbuster.
