Land of the Dead Land of the Dead R
Another Romero Classic. Probaly the most intresting zombie film I've seen. Alike all of Romero's films in the Dead Series, Land Of The Dead is laden with social commentry. This movie focuses on the divide between the rich & the poor. Whereas in reality the divide is only a metaphorical one, in Land Of The Dead Romero has exemplifies it by creating a physical divide between the rich & poor in this post-apocalyptic fortress. While the poor live on the outskirts of the city living a beggar's life, the rich and influencial live in pre-apocalyptic paradise known as "Fiddler's Green" at the centre of the city. The film does well at showing the tension between the two castes and what people will do in order to jump ship or level the playing field. Land Of The Dead is intresting because of the way it deals with the aspect of intelligence within the zombie ranks, which creates a moral paradox for the trigger-happy zombie slayers. Filled to the brim with action, horror and gore! Land Of The Dead is an exciting and intresting film for horror fans or amble movie watchers alike. Though the ending lacks luster compared to others of it's genre, it leaves the playing field open and allows the audience time to reflect on the issues it's raised.
