Deadly Night's Recent Reviews
This was an interesting little movie built on this premise: What if what we knew about Napolean's defeat and death was actually false? The discovery that the remains of Napolean were discovered to contain a poison, thereby proving that he was actually murdered, have sparked the idea that perhaps the "Napolean" that died in exile was not really the former emperor of France? This little film offers its proposed conclusion to the real Napolean's life, very different from that written in the history books. It's funny, sometimes charming, and fairly entertaining. However if you have no interest in the subject matter you probably won't like it.
Star Trek
PG-13
Proof that I will probably never like the Star Trek franchise. A few good moments intermixed with long, boring running/yelling/exploding/etc. shots. Not my cup of tea.

Legend
PG
This is probably my favorite movie of all time, and that's saying a lot. I grew up watching it almost every day, and although this one didn't receive very positive praise from the critics, it will always have a special place in my heart. That's why it's at the top of my favorites list. The sets are glorious, and the film features several well-known actors. Tom Cruise got his start from this film, and Tim Curry is brilliant. The contrasting idea here between good and evil, and the relationship between the two emphasize that although on opposite ends of the spectrum, one could not exist without the other. Please view the U.S. theatrical release before viewing the European version, it's so much better. And it features one of my favorite songs ever: Brian Ferry's 'Is Your Love Strong Enough?"
What Dreams May Come
PG-13
This movie is quite beyond words. Watching it leaves one breathless and speechless. This movie can change the way you view life and death. One bright ray of hope in a world of black. And I find it incredible that a movie could come so close to expressing my spiritual beliefs. Robin Williams is incredible, and the entire cast fits well into the plot. I prefer the movie to the book in this case because the beauty is more evident here than on the page. It's a very tight race between this movie and "Legend" as my favorite movie of all time.
