Quote: "What came first: the music or the misery? People worry about kids playing with guns, or watching violent videos, that some sort of culture of violence will take them over. Nobody worries about kids listening to thousands, literally thousands of songs about heartbreak, rejection, pain, misery and loss. Did I listen to pop music because I was miserable? Or was I miserable because I listened to pop music?" - Rob Gordon (John Cusack), HIGH FIDELITY

One of the most famous films ever made. This is another contender for best performances by the entire cast along with The Godfather. John Travolta was awesome as Vincent Vega and so was Samuel L. Jackson as Jules Winnfield. Bruce Willis and Uma Thurman were very good in this masterpiece. This is Quentin Tarantinos best film. I cant believe the Best Supporting Actor Oscar in 1995 didnt go to Samuel L. Jackson. Well, he was the favourite to win it. As far as Best Picture is concerned, the favourites were this, Forrest Gump and The Shawshank Redemption. But when the ceremony went underway, it was going to be either Forrest Gump or this. But the award went to Forrest Gump in the end (Yes!), even though I still love this film. I knew John Travolta wasnt going to win Best Actor and I thought that Uma Thurman was going to win Best Supporting Actress. This is a really graphic film. Not as graphic as Kill Bill though. I love the phrase from the Bible which is Ezekiel 25:17 that Jules says when he is about to kill somebody particularly the scene in the café near the end of the film. I just love this film because it is like so original, the script is absolutely superb, the general way of the characters, and the quotes that they come up with like the Bible quote and the burger. This film will be a masterpiece for generations to come.

Movies don't get much cooler than this. It is a guy movie through and through, but its not some mediocre piece of crap. It is actually rather inspiring to watch these men take on an army over 30 times their size. The look of the movie is very unique in itself. Taking techniques from Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow and Sin City to form another great movie almost completely computer generated outside of the actors. The end is very good, but many which it happened differently. Though I know from experience, that if it did happen differently, people would want it to end the way it did.

It's better, funnier, cooler and more exciting than the original. A work of a superb perfectonist. Director, Guillermo del Toro has crafted another visualley stunning, artisticly made and well-crafed film filled with amasing acton, great humor, dazzeling creatures and superb speacial effects. It says true to its story and it's characters. It's action-packed and terifficly funny. Absolutely spctacular and adreniline-pumping from start to finish. An incrediable, unforgettable and tremendously entertaining movie. Ron Pearlman, Selma Blair and Doug Jones are excelent once again as the trio of superheros that you cant help but love. Perlman gives plenty of strentgh to his role, showing dedication and love for his character crafting another amasing performance. A stunning, riveting and visionary classic. A rollar-coaster of extroadinary power and endless fun.

Simply amazing. Even better than Batman Begins, and the expectations were really high. Great performances by all the actors, Christian Bale is amazing as usual. Special mention to Heath Ledger, who's Joker interpretation is awesome. I agree with a possible posthume nomination to the Academy Awards. Really good movie, can't wait for a third one...

    this is worth watching!

I can't even begin to state just how simply amazing this film is. Truly the film of 2008, everything about this was just awesome and amazing.

    (yay review)

After what, like 3 years of waiting, last night I finally saw The Dark Knight, thank whoever got this film to Australia a day early! Brilliant! Oh and thanks to Super Dan for providing some good company for the film hehe

Anyway! This lived up to all my expectations and more, it was soo much better then I ever had expected! This film was bloody epic! It was the real world comic book film, Batman was given the treatment he truly deserves.Could the casting have been any better? Bale is Batman/Wayne, so perfect, he really is! Michael Caine as Alfred rules, their chemistry together is utterly excellent. I'm glad they recast Katie Holmes, I can't stand her. Maggie is a strong actress and she held her own, I'm glad they chose her. Gary Oldman really put on a good show as Gordon, we got more of him here and Gary Oldman is never a let down (Even in the shittiest film, he can come up smelling like roses). I must say in a small role I loved Nestor Carbonell as the Mayor, but perhaps I am biased because some day he will father my children!

The real stand-outs though would be Aaron Eckhart as Harvey Dent and the late Heath Ledger as the Joker. Their characters were done so bloody well, so much to them! There is no way any other actors could have done what they did. Dent's transformation is truly tragic and heart breaking, Eckhart just managed to do all the right things to send that across. And Ledger, whoa...when I first heard of his casting, I thought, no way can he be the Joker. But he really became something else, a true villain. That Joker that be made and became is something I've never seen before, he played everything so perfectly, everything was spot on. His last complete performance by far for me was truly his best. Heath was a great actor, and here he out did himself.

The story is so dark too, the events that happen, are dark! It is a dark film, it is a crime film! I have to say I quite enjoyed Eric Roberts too, as part of the mob. See Batman has made a difference in Gotham, and basically it's time to get back at him. There are those who want to save the city (Batman, Dent, Gordon) and then theres the one who wants to see it burn (the Joker). Everything was done in such a way, the scope of it all, epic is really the only word I can use to describe it. I probably can't really add much more to what has already been said about this film. But I must point out there are certain scenes which are beyond fantastic, such as the opening! I loved it! Watch out for the Jokers magic trick, I jumped out of my seat when I saw it!

Of course this film does have its lighter moments, and some rather funny scenes too. Expertly written!

Nic Balthazar directs his first movie adapted from his own novel. The story is familiar but interesting and the acting is very good. The original aspect of this movie is its cinematography. The director manages to pull us into the world he puts his character to, in a mixture of reality and the fantasy. Ben is a troubled young boy who is picked on all the time..He plays an online video game and identifies with the character he creates there. But real life is bitter and real people are so cruel.. Can Ben put up with this or should he end the game? Can his parents and the girl he meets on the game help him to go on?
