Unbelievable how great this movie is. It is at the same time a drama, war movie, period film, ghost story, and love story.
The great Machiko Kyo gives a phenomenal performance in this movie (and so does the rest of the cast). Its sad that this movie is unknown and unwatched by virtually everyone. The most beautiful film ever made, this movie should be seen by EVERYONE who claims to be a movie lover.
This movie is so amazing that calling it one of the greatest films of all time has become very cliched. . Not one minute of the 3 hour running time is boring or dull. Inspired many films to follow (in particular The Magnificent Seven) but none came even close. The Seven Samurai is the reigning film in Japanese cinema and in Kurosawa's entire career (and thats saying a lot because he made many of the greatest films of all time).
One of my favorite movies..and for good reason. Featuring one of the greatest scripts I have ever seen, and one of cinema's greatest performances by Bette Davis, this witty film is a rarity in that I can watch it countless times and never tire of it. Lines from All About Eve have become part of my daily language.
A flawless American classic. Gloria Swanson's performance is amazing..and yes..this movie has two of the most quoted move lines in cinema history..you should know them by now.
Watching this movie again has made me realize that it is, indeed, my favorite film of all time. There are no words or superlatives I could use to describe how much I love this movie. The animation is breathtaking, the story mystical and deep, the characters amazing, and the score beautiful. Even if you aren't fan of anime, I would suggest still recommend you seeing this.
Dario Argento is one of my favorite horror directors and this is his masterpiece. Great set design & lighting, one of the creepiest soundtracks ever, and some great Argento trademark deaths.
One of the best and most famous American films of all time. The special effects of the movie may be outdated, but the film still holds much power and awe. A masterpiece.
Not only Yimou's best film, but one of the best films ever. One of most haunting and beautiful films I've ever seen. In my opinion, Gong Li is one of the best actresses in the world (its a shame she's unknown by many people) and this movie shows why. She is SUPERB in this movie.
Great and suspenseful, one of Hitchcock's best. I loved how this movie explored the theme of voyeurism, as we, the viewers, are also watching and spying on the neighbors alongside Jeff (I think Hitchcock loved the theme of voyeurism as I see it in many of his movies).
Easily the best slasher of all time and probably the best horror film of all time. This film predates Halloween (which is credited with starting the slasher genre) by 4 years and is actually better. This movie is very creepy and scary. This movie doesn't rely on gore, but on scares and atmosphere. Many people have never even heard of this movie or given it the credit it deserves. Black Christmas is the definition of a cult classic.
Not only my favorite musical, but one of my favorite movies ever. Great cinematography, story, script, acting by Topol, songs, and dancing. One of the few 3 hour movies I can watch over and over.
Entertaining, spectacular, electrifying, and dazzling. Gere, Zellweger, and Latifah all give great performances, but Zeta-Jones was the real star of the film. Every song in this movie is great and memorable.
Absolutely incredible. Tarantino's best (cliched to say that). Everything about this movie is great, especially the soundtrack (girl..DUN DUN DUN DUN..you'll be a woman...soon- LOVE THAT SONG!), cast, and script.
