Cashback (2007, R)
Interesting feature. Cant wait to watch it in original language. Some minors complaints can be made concerning the overall inconsistency of the quality of the scenes together. But it was stated to be made that way, kinda like scattered thoughts, or a living dream. Beautiful ending. Im definitely gonna watch it again soon. |

La Science des Rêves (The Science of Sleep) (2006, R)
First of all, let's set it clear, since the comparison is there. No it's not Eternal Sunshine, but it's really up there with the great movies. While Gondry script is not as effective as Kaufman's (I'm not a fan of him but together they do a great job), what really shines in Science of Sleep is Gondry ability to create a world of complete fantasy. And it's funny as it explores a large array of psychological theme, and it's almost an autobiology of Gondry's character. Wonderful movie, try it! |
