I recommend you see...Hey, you should really see this in the theatre if possible.
Paranormal Activity
by NickySlow developing with some actual storytelling, lots of build up while leaving room for your imagination. Enjoyed it meeting some of the hype if you are able to appreciate it for the low budget gem that it is. Some truly creepy moments but I must be desensitized as I was only feeling spooked during the anticipation of what was to come. Excellent use of the bedroom camera and speeding up of time and that is where the anticipation comes from. I actually felt like I was watching a glimpse into a real situation and wondered what I would have done. Glad I saw in the theatre because a lot of my enjoyment came from the tension of the audience and mostly from my wife being completely freaked out. She started out saying it was boring then clinching my hand with a "I don't like this, I don't like this". Not for everyone but a lot of comparisons are being made to The Blair Witch Project. While different, I would agree that if Blair Witch got to you, then this one will too.

Zombieland
by NickyGreat Zom-Com or Zomedy that gets the ride going quickly and doesn't stop until the hour and a half thrill ride is finished. More comedy than horror it truely is as much of a fun-filled road trip of creamy goodness as the elusive treat Woody is searching for. Speaking of Woody, as expected, he is the main rollercoaster of this flick. Zigging and zagging his way through the comedy funhouse like a madman. Featuring a fantastic cameo, Zombieland is one to catch if you are a fan of zombies, Shaun of the Dead (which is totally different and still better), or horror comedies in general. Take the ride and Rule #3: Always fasten your seatbelt!

The Ugly Truth
by DebThe chemistry between Gerard Butler and Katherine Heigl was great in this raunchy comedy and yeah, I absolutely loved it. It was hilarious, cute, humorous, and most-of-all fun from start to finish. Forget the haterz who said Butler looked fat in this movie; does this mean a woman cannot fall in love with a guy a few pounds overweight? What a load of garbage and insulting to women everywhere. I can't believe that the same critics who loved Borat, Knocked Up and Superbad are complaining that THIS movie is "too crude".
"The Ugly Truth" is clever and I think this is a chick flick that even the guys would enjoy because they would relate to a lot of the scenes in this movie. You'll enjoy watching the battle of the sexes as you most likely have never seen it before.posted 49 days ago -

The Comebacks
by Deb"The Comebacks" is a stupid yet entertaining comedy that spoofs modern sports movies. There were some funny and clever jokes but it was usually crude humor, using a sexual reference for almost everything and anything. Not bad...I've seen worse!
Entertaining rendition of the song "Don't stop believing" by Journey!posted 49 days ago -
I recommend you see...If you get offended easily I don't recommend this movie to you because there are those strong sexual moments!
Tomcats
by Deb"Call me Mistress, you disgusting worm" If you like hilarious perverted humor, you'll love this one haha.
And Michael Delaney was just yummy.posted 50 days ago -
I recommend you see...Hey, you should really see this if you're fans of Rainn Wilson, Christina Applegate and lover of rock and roll music!
The Rocker
by DebRainn Wilson, Christina Applegate and the supporting cast of teenagers were all great. It's a movie about what it means to be in a band and have each other's back, accepting adult responsibility without ever letting go of your inner rocker. Teddy Geiger is excellent as the lead singer of A.D.D and Emma Stone is great as the Punk girl.
THE ROCKER has enough humor to make you laugh and the music is catchy and pretty good.posted 52 days ago -

Final Destination
by DebI thought the plot was fantastic and the opening extremely powerful. "Final Destination" defines what death is really like- unpredictable, inevitable and sudden. Nice tension build up and enough blood and gore to satisfy the fans of that genre.

88 Minutes
by DebAl Pacino is a renowned forensic psychiatrist and college professor who works with the FBI profiling serial killers. As a killer he helped put on death row nears execution, new evidence emerges that the now-convicted murderer possibly didn't do it.
Not one of Pacino's greatest work but it's still a fun movie to watch especially those who enjoy crime and suspense type films.posted 53 days ago -

Two Brothers
by DebI found this movie to be quite entertaining and moving at the same time. The movie tells of the separation of two tiger cubs, one is sold to a circus where he is mistreated by his sadistic handlers and the other is adopted as a pet by a young boy. The story is told from the tigers' perspective and director Jean-Jacques Annaud was very successful in conveying the tiger's thoughts and feelings without the use of words. He suggests rather than display violence becausethere is surprisingly little blood in this story about hunting, though the threat of attack is clear and pervasive. I have always thought that tigers were the most regal of all the great felines and these two are the most unforgettable and so is this movie which just reinforce that the biggest danger to tigers are us and we must exercise our power responsibly, not by destroying life, but by learning to value and cherish these endangered animals living in the wild.
The landscapes are impressive and the photography was amazing. A fantastic and touching movie with great performances by the Tigers who stole the show but Guy Pearce as the hunter and the little French boy weren't far behind them.posted 54 days ago -

Bring It On
by DebThis is an enjoyable, energetic and athletic teen movie about cheerleading. The choreography was impressive and the scenes at the National championships were breathtaking, and skillfully executed.
Lots of eye candy in the form of Kirsten Dunst (Spiderman) and Eliza Dushku (True Lies and Buffy The Vampire Slayer) in their cheerleader outfits and Gabrielle Union was terrific in the part of Isis. Note: There's even a bikini/car wash scene.)
I would not label this a "Chick Flick" because I know a fair share of guys who brought this film just to ogle at cheerleaders lol.
If you like cheer-leading and music, this is one movie you can appreciate.posted 56 days ago -
I recommend you see...I highly recommend this modest but brilliant, film.
Ghost Town
by DebRicky Gervais plays a dentist (Bertram) who suddenly gains the ability to converse with ghosts. This is a handy ability, except Gervais hates people and is extremely anti-social. Ricky Gervais' very dry British wit might not be to everyone's taste but this movie was fresh, classy, sophisticated, clever and hilarious.
Greg Kinnear serves as an excellent comic foil to Gervais as Frank, a recently deceased stockbroker who uses Bertram to break up his widow's romance with a pompous lawyer. Realizing that Gwen is both attractive and lives in his building, the sardonic dentist agrees. Greg Kinnear and Tea Leoni are both in fine form.
Like many romantic comedies, 'Ghost Town' is set in New York. There is something about New York that, when captured well on screen, remains consistently charming. New York City never looked so beautiful.posted 57 days ago -

Why Did I Get Married?
by DebThis is a great movie. It has the quick, witty humor that Tyler Perry often brings to the screen. It will make you think about life, honesty, and relationships. There are so many emotions in this film that you'll be laughing one minute, crying another. This movie drives home the fact that there must be communication to have a successful relationship.
I don't want to give anything away but I'll just say the scene on the plane will make you mad, the scene in the cabin at the dinner table will make you sad and the scene at the end will make you glad you saw this movie.posted 57 days ago -

I'm Through with White Girls
by DebLight hearted comedy about a guy who has a phobia of commitment. Jay has never dated a black woman, he only dates white women, yet always breaks up with them, when it gets too serious, using race as the excuse for his lack of commitment.
Don't let the title mislead you! If you're in the mood for comedy, give this one a shot...posted 58 days ago -

Mickey Blue Eyes
by DebThis is a lighthearted comedy with Hugh Grant as an Art dealer and high hopes of an approaching marriage to his girlfriend Gina. Unfortunately, Grant finds himself knee-deep in the criminal shenanigans of his fiance's mafia-related family. Englishman wants to marry Sicilian daughter and comedic complications ensue. James Caan was impressive with his impersonation of a mobster. Another good performance was turned in by Burt Young playing the serious don as Uncle Vito.
"Mickey Blue Eyes" was entertaining with its comic twists of a plot and kept me interested right up to the end.posted 58 days ago -

Nine Months
by DebHugh Grant plays a psychologist whose life seems to be going very well until he gets the news that his girlfriend is pregnant. The film has plenty of supporting characters (Julianne Moore, Tom Arnold, Joan Cusack, Jeff Goldblum and Robin Williams who has a few comic relief scenes as the Russian obstetrician)
The story is simple but this is a light hearted, funny film.posted 59 days ago -

Don't Say a Word
by DebMichael Douglas stars as Dr. Nathan Conrad, an uptown psychiatrist whose happy family life is turned upside down when his young daughter is suddenly kidnapped. X-Men's Famke Jansen is Douglas's physically-challenged wife but Brittany Murphy is the most brilliant in this film as the crazed mental patient, she appears to be so twisted it is almost scary. English actor, Sean Bean is very good as the villain.
This is a solid thriller with excellent performances but the story is predictable and nothing you haven't seen before.posted 59 days ago
