1.
Batman
PG-13
A great film, one great beginning for the return of the Batman.Despite of its little time of scene, Michael Keaton proves to be a good Batman, and the Joker kick ass, beyond of the beauties sets and the well history.
2.
Batman Begins
PG-13
Is the best batman movie.Handle what Frank Miller made in the dark knight returns(cacththe facts of the world in time)mix with a script the mayor and majestical performances. Prominence stops for Christian Bale as the Batman, Read Nesson as Ra's al Ghul and Cillian Murphy as the Scarecrow.
3.
Batman Returns
PG-13
the perfect film.Everbody was almost perfects in its performances and history is more dark and superior to fist. Detachingt the final scene between the Batman and Penguin, where Michael Keaton proves because it is the man.
4.
Batman Forever
PG-13
The entrance of Joel Schumacher brought changes the series, as the new Batman(Val Kilmer, in 2° more good performance of someone as Batman)the Riddler(great performance of Jim Carrey)e the arrival of the Robin.Despite of being lighter than the previous ones, the cut scenes would leave the film more dark, and with psicologicos subjects gone deep.Is more led that of the Tim Burton movies, but not bad.

The Midnight Meat Train
by KellyFirst screening: this is a plain thrilling goregasm.
Vinnie Jones - or as I know him from Gervais' and Merchant's "Extras", that footballer bloke who just acts hard though Ross Kemp reckons he could definitely beat him up - does a great butcher. He's a naturally mean looking man and a large solid physique that dwarfs his victims and equals one buff and tough wrestler-like guy who ends up as another meal. Jones has the dead stare nailed down!
I want to read Clive Barker's original story before I comment on plot elements and the script (as I watched crapfest 'Insanitarium' to get a taste of Jeff Buhler's screenwriting skills, and because this is an adaptation, I can't fairly appraise or praise until I've read the source material.
I now see what Barker was talking about when it came to fighting to keep this film uncensored, and it's generally fucked that the production and distribution systems clash so much (but that's a whole blog post unto itself I'll save for ImpRaVinG).
There's not much holding back on the blood and gore fans will be in heaven throughout the final reel. I think there were some anticipatory censorship issues with nudity of the corpses on hooks as I saw a few too many unrealistic bodies: obvious simplistic crash dummies next to a more detailed model that had a penis that defied gravity.
Still any wide shots of the corpses displayed in rows on the train cars, drawn and hung like cattle, are sickening sublime.
The (primary) murder weapon is just plain cool, from finish to design, it's an iconic horror movie weapon.
I did dislike how the beginning of the movie has some bits realistic-striving avant-garde stuff but then splats that against action-geared fights; basically, sometimes the film is playing out like a noir with lingering atmospheric shots, then it kicks into action movie mode of quick cutting and I found that conflict of moods was the biggest detriment.
I know now that I will watch this movie a few more times, one or two for serious screening, and loads for the sheer fun of it.This rec is mostly aimed at my fellow gore and horror fans - this is a real treat. Imagine if CHUD had been done right and then smash it together with a big smattering of Texas Chainsaw Massacre, set it mostly in a bleak subway, and you've got MMT.

Lakeview Terrace
by MarkInteresting psychological thriller about a newly married couple that moves into a new home and find themselves terrorized by their next door neighbor. Tense, tightly wound thriller has many clever scenes that raise this above a routine potboiler. Superior performances all around, especially Samuel L. Jackson as the LA cop that disapproves of his neighbor's interracial relationship. Thought provoking film will encourage discussion.
Much better than the mixed reviews it received. I was pleasantly surprised.

Brazil
by MarkHapless office drone, Sam Lowry, lives in a dystopian society. He frequently retreats to his imagination where he longs for, Jill Layton, literally the girl of his dreams. Director Terry Gilliam, admittedly inspired by Orwell's 1984, manages to present one of the most breathtakingly imaginative worlds ever to be put on screen. The stunning Art Direction was nominated for an Oscar.
A masterpiece!

by FélixIf you think, by any means, that Sean Penn's masterpiece Into the Wild is, in fact, a pretentious, new-hippy, Generation X, artsy piece of bullshit... go see this junk.
I mean, of course I'm going to see it and I will probably like it a lot but it IS artsy.
A good thing? The cinematography is great but, ey, which mexican movie of the past 10 years hasn't had a great cinematography?
See the trailer here in Flixster.
We have a word for this kind of movies in spanish: MAMONA. And this is the Queen. The most pretentious trailer I've ever seen.
El trailer más pretencioso (y MAMÓN pero no sé como escribirlo en inglés) que he visto en mi vida.
