Carey Mulligan gives an outstanding performance that is at times sweet and smart and other times annoying and stupid, which is exactly how someone going through the motions at such young age acts all the time. She's a natural who really makes you feel the uncertainty of her character and makes her relatable both in wise and wrong decisions.
I have never seen an animated movie have so much fun before. It hast non-stop wit and laughs and the characters are all very endearing, great voice cast, the food looks delicious and it is a wild, joyous ride all throughout. Love Anna Faris, adore Bill Hader and had an ear to ear smile the entire time.
For 10 years I have been saying that Ben Foster is a natural talent, probably the best one of his generation, and everytime he releases a film I go "maybe this is the one that puts him on the map"; they never do, but he still continues to amaze and engage me with every performance.
Slow pace, sometimes terrible performances and a twist that comes out of nowhere can't ruin what is a truly fascinating story with very real drama in it.
Yes, we all know this is a story we have seen many times before and it plays exactly like you know it is going to, but it truly does set a high standard for technology, I was caught up and invested with these characters and it is mind-blowingly entertaining.
I thought I had disliked this movie until it ended and I realized that for the past 2 hours I was yelling at the screen for them to get together and then almost cried. A very sweet, funny and romantic comedy.
Rosemary's Babysitter. So, the film stumbles a little in its final moments when it starts to get bloody, but overall it is a very suspenseful, tense and frightening experience.
Amazing movie. It has definitely one of the best soundtracks ever and Samantha Morton gives such a calm yet layered performance, she's truly haunting; one viewing is clearly not enough to fully understand all of her character.
This is actually worse than people said and it is terribly funny due to its enormous incompetence, but it is also something that should be an 8 minute youtube video; a full feature lenght film is somewhat tiring.
The film is humorous, but not something I would call funny. The cast is great, but their characters not so much and other than Bateman are not given anything to do. They keep setting thins up but hardly have any payoff because it all just magically gets solved. Huge disappointment.
This is a hilarious movie, excellent satire and has a great performance by Withnail himself, Mr. Richard E. Grant. This is something I can kinda relate to in a way because I'm a marketing student and eventually I will have a figurative boil on my shoulder when my different sides clash. Truly an exceptional movie not to be missed.
I didn't dislike thi movie, it's pretty funny and also very sweet, has great performances and I will never, ever get tired of watching Leslie Mann do anything but... I don't know, I didn't get it. Nothing of what's going on seems to matter and the third act feels very random and drags a lot.
I was really pissed off when people started trashing the film because it wasn't "Woodstock" enough for them, to which I always said: It is based on the book by the same name and it never was about being in the concert, it was about creating it. After finally watching the movie I have to say it is the biggest disappointment of all 2009. I don't mind that they change things from the book, create or expand characters, that's all fine, the problem is that the script basically strips the story from context, depth and reason; everything seems like all too happy coincidences and we never truly witness why this massive concert was so important to all those people making it happen. It just happens.
Every so often a movie comes along that surprises viewers and critics alike and everyone hails as the scariest movie since The Exorcist or whatever. This is clearly not the case and it will never ever be and movies like this make it harder and harder to wait for a gem to pop up every so often. I would've enjoyed laughing at how stupid Case 39 is if it weren't so long and boring.
