| Actor: | Right now, I'm loving Heath Ledger. God bless his soul! But for the others, I love movies with Clive Owen, Keira Knightly, Johnny Depp, Tom Hanks, Morgan Freeman, Jack Nicholson, Michael Madsen, Harrison Ford, Natalie Portman, Scarlett Johnansson, Jack Black, John Cusack.... |
| Director: | Joe Wright, Peter Bogdanovich, Quentin Tarentino, Steven Spielberg, George Lucas, Frances Ford Coppola, Sofia Coppola, Guillermo del Torro, Hayao Miyazaki, Ridley Scott, Tobe Hooper, Martin Scorceses |
| Quote: | "It's good to be the King" - Mel Brooks in History of the World, Part I, "Actors are just bullshitters that get paid!" - Bette Midler in Outrageous Fortune, "Look at the Bad Guy! What does that make you, good? I tell the truth...even when I lie!" - Al Pacino in Scarface |
Heath Ledger...great actor! A role that killed him, but he done it so well! Guess that's what an actor does to get so deep into a role. But he's amazing. May he always be remembered!

Pride and Prejudice
PG
Definitely one of my favorite Love stories of all time! I can't get enough of it, and it's so beautiful. I love Kiera Knightly who plays the adorable Lizzie that steals the heart of handsome Mr Darcy, played magnificently by Mathew Macfayden. I fell in love with him immediately, with his serious and quiet nature, but ultimately romantic. A favorite of mine forever!
Gremlins
PG
Back in the 80's flick, produced by Steven Spielberg, Gremlins is a favorite of mine. Loved the story which is entertaining!
Platoon
R
One of the best war epic movies made by Oliver Stone. Great acting by both Willem Dafoe and Tom Berenger as the fueding Sgts. with different views on how they see the Vietnam War. Charlie Sheen is great in his supporting role as Platoon takes you deep into Vietnam's war zone. Amazing movie!
Night of the Living Dead
R
SCary as ever, and gave me chills watching the movie. Loved the remake done superbly by Tom Savini. Great zombie movie ever. :D
Journey to the Center of the Earth (Journey to the Center of the Earth 3D)
Unrated
Looks cool! Lots of CGI! Wonder how it's going to be? Can't wait to watch this one also!

Death Proof (Grindhouse Presents)

An Ultimate chick flick with great music, and action! Starts out slow, but soon, it gets more intense as the movie goes along, and will soon leave so much excitement and thrills. ;) Great car chase sequence with amazing stunt scenes!

Resident Evil: Extinction
R
Although this was quite different then the two other series, it was a good movie. Loved the scary zombies and it has great action sequences. I liked it and found it enjoyable.
4.
Bridge to Terabithia
PG
Don't expect to see a movie just about a Fantasy world. But the story is amazing and touching, with the imagination of what we see through the childrens eyes, we go through the magical and fantasy faze of what world could be out there if you do open up your mind. Great story, and will make you cry. I loved this movie so much, that it's now a new favorite of mine.
5.
Pan's Labyrinth (El Laberinto del Fauno)
R
Great cinematography with wonderful set design and makeup with the creatures. Original story with some intense scenes due to the sadistic acts of a cruel soldier, and magical moments of mystical creatures. It delivers a beautiful story and is amazingly shot with wonderful set designs. An awesome story, and truly a favorite of mine. The music is also a nice touch as well.
6.
Napoleon Dynamite
PG
Who would think a nerdy character like Napoleon would be adored by the young audiences of today. With his goofy behavior, and strange antics, Napoleon is the funniest character I have seen in movies. A simple story with corny characters set in the rural small town in Idaho, makes u wonder if there is such people. All in all, I loved the movie, and is a definite fave of mine.

I recommend you see...
Forgetting Sarah Marshall
by CraigDirected by: Nicholas Stoller.
Starring: Jason Segel, Kristen Bell, Mila Kunis, Russell Brand, Bill Hader, Paul Rudd.
<< "He turned down a blow job from his ex-girlfriend...mid-blow job. You know how hard that is for a man? It's called blue balls. He's like Gandhi! But better...he likes puppets!" >>
The story follows a relatively lazy, unfocused man who scores for a hit TV show he hates but is dating the hottest girl in Hollywood...the star of the show. After she dumps him after a 5 year relationship, he finds it extremely hard to take and decides to go to a spot in Hawaii she told him about to get away from it all. But before long he meets her there with her new eccentric boyfriend and he starts to fall for the hotels receptionist.
I remember reading about this film briefly before The Heartbreak Kid came out, not knowing who was behind the film at the time I thought it was Hollywood ripping off a film that was to be released before it...but then I saw the horrendous Heartbreak Kid and can easily say this film has no comparisons and is leaps and bounds above that shit pile.
As with recent Apatow productions, the film carries the similar formula mixed together...sweet romance and raunchy comedy. In any other case this formula would no doubt get old and stale, but the Apatow team continue to prove they are the head of the game and Jason Segel proves to be a strong writer for that team.
Simply directed and assured, the film does start a little weak, I'll admit that, but before long Jason Segel's brand of humor starts to kick it up a notch and right into full gear, it is extremely witty, slightly vulgar but always laugh out loud and the strongest thing Jason kept in mind was to balance and the film nicely steps back into its character that slowly, but surely develop and the character moments are actually quite sweet and believable and never stale or 'in your face' cliched.
The performance are a strong point of the film as everyone involved, lead or not delivers something brilliant. Jason Segel proves to have the right charisma and raunchy tone to stand strong as an Apatow type character and Kristen Bell even has a few believable moments (I usually can't stand her). This is the first role I have seen Mila Kunis in outside of Family Guy and not only is she so damn beautiful, but she really delivers quite a sweet, charismatic and assured performance, it will be interesting to see what she can do in the future...and alongside the great sub roles played by Bill Hader and Paul Rudd, Jack McBrayer had me in complete tears throughout, he really needs to be a strong comedic force in more films.
Forgetting Sarah Marshall is a sweet surprise, yet not so surprising coming from the Apatow team. May not be as strong or sophisticated as Knocked Up, but it easily stands amongst the Apatow greats thanks to strong wit, great characters and very strong performances.Took long enough to finally be released here.
