Contact - PG This story handles religion and science in such an affecting manner that its hard not to be touched by it. If you want to see stuff blowing up then you might rent a Roland Emmerich movie instead. December 21, 2008

The Core - PG-13 This movie has it all: mediocre effects, lame humor, predictable ending. December 21, 2008

Enron: The Smartest Guys in the Room - R While it's not the most exciting documentary, it is shocking and informative. This tale of deregulation , corruption, and manipulation is very relevant to the current financial crisis. December 21, 2008

The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian - PG Oh my god, this was worse than the first one. Not to mention that those kids looked too soft to win a pillow fight. Skip it. December 11, 2008

Wanted - R I can't suspend disbelief hard enough to not laugh at the ridiculousness of this mindless violence. It just BARELY meets the minimum requirements for entertainment though. December 9, 2008

WALL-E - G Although this movie has very little dialogue, a lot is conveyed through the animation. This movie is cute and makes you feel good. Plus I love how his recharge plays the Mac startup chime. December 8, 2008

What Happens in Vegas - PG-13 The first half was awful. The second half was tolerable. If you want to see it I wont discourage you, but keep your expectations low. November 30, 2008

Bridge to Terabithia - PG I felt mislead as the story wasn't quite what I was expecting, but the fact that my eyes watered at the end means that something resonated with me. November 30, 2008

Meet the Robinsons - G It comes together in the end, but it's clear that Disney didn't give the script and animation as much love as the crew over at Pixar would have. November 30, 2008

The Incredibles - PG This has to be the best Pixar film that I've seen and they are all usually pretty good. November 26, 2008
N/A
Fight Club - R David Fincher is brilliant. This is just as good as Seven, but the in-your-face violence may be hard for some to watch. November 26, 2008

Ratatouille - G This is pretty violent for a kids movie but is still up to par with previous Pixar films. The incredibles is still my favorite though. November 26, 2008

The Human Contract - R Jada Pinkett Smith's directorial debut is full of cheesy philosophical dialogue, characters and situations that never pay-off, and twists that you can see coming a mile away. With that said, it did have it's moments. Plus she sprinkles in a fair amount of sex and violence to keep our attention. She just need's to work on her writing. If interested, add it to your Netflix queue. November 23, 2008

Dan in Real Life - PG-13 This movie was always awkward and occasionally unbelievable, but I enjoyed it a lot. Definitely a step up from Evan Almighty. November 23, 2008

The Pixar Story - Unrated This is a surprisingly good and fun documentary. I recommend this to artists and movie lovers. November 19, 2008

Dead Space: Downfall - Unrated The game was excellent. The Ben Templesmith animated comic was pretty good. This movie was disappointing though. I admit that the Line Cutter was cool. Hopefully that will be introduced as a download for the game. October 29, 2008

Alien - R Alien is a classic. It doesn't have the action and effects of Aliens, but it has enough tension for both movies. October 26, 2008

Aliens - R Although some of the effects don't hold up, it's hard for me to think of a better sequel and more influential film than Aliens. I've definitely seen this over 10 times and it's always a pleasure. October 26, 2008

The Thing - R It's no Exorcist but if you can get past those moments where the character on screen is doing something that makes absolutely NO sense then it's a decent horror flick. October 26, 2008

The Big One - PG-13 This was an entertaining movie, but Moore's uncharacteristic lack of focus was an issue for me. It felt more like stand-up comedy than a documentary. October 26, 2008

Run Fatboy Run - PG-13 This predictable and unrealistic romantic comedy is better than Hot Fuzz but nowhere near as good as Shaun of the Dead. October 13, 2008

The Spiderwick Chronicles - PG This is a typical made for TV kiddie movie with a bigger budget. The pay-off at the end was pretty sweet but the rest of the movie was just OK. October 11, 2008
N/A
Eagle Eye - PG-13 The message is relevant but the execution is rather banal. I don't want to shoot the messenger here (even though I should) so I recommend waiting for this to come out on Netflix. October 5, 2008

Mirrors - R Aside from a particularly vicious murder scene involving a mouth, not much grabs your attention here. It plods along for an hour and a half and then its like Aja said, "hey guys we're $10 mil under budget, let's blow some $h*! up for no good reason!?". It's watchable, but not really enjoyable. September 1, 2008

Tropic Thunder - R Cruise and Downey Jr were the best parts of film. Everyone else was OK except for Stiller who was apparently still working with the Zoolander script. Ehhh. August 31, 2008
