If Tarantino and the WWE made a movie together it would be this movie; It's totally absurd, sadistic, mindless violence (but without the clever dialogue). As one character dies, her last words are "you're so cool".
I never read Beowulf but I did like this movie. It's like Fight Club meets Lord of the Rings. The strong gore and sexuality may be a bit inappropriate for the kiddies though.
It's the low budget cousin of Bug. Implausible scenario, mediocre acting, and a twist so stupid that M Nigh Shyamalan no doubt had his hands on it at some point all make this a "wait for it on cable" movie.
Yes, it's bad but it's very watchable. The dialogue is so bad that it'll either be confusing or funny. "...and remember my friends - future events such as these... will affect you in the future." At 2 hrs it is long though.
With all due respect, Mr. Romero, it's time to hang it up. EVEN if the acting hadn't been as bad as it was, lines like, "at first it was us against us - now it's us against them - only they are us" (cheesy) ensure that even Meryl Streep couldn't have saved this turd.
Has moments that will make you laugh and a few that will definitely jerk some tears (if not make you cry), but over all Siegel turns an extraordinary subject into an ordinary documentary.
Although Daniel isn't technically strong, the guy is very creative and prolific. The film and Daniel are both inspirational though at times feels as though his creativity is being exploited at Daniel's expense.
Has lots of good music and is very informative. The documentary format doesn't have the same energy as seeing it live BUT it gets great energy from the very entertaining cast including the Skratch Piklz, Shadow, Premo, Babu and others.
