| Coco avant Chanel (Coco Before Chanel) - PG-13 | Elegant and thoroughly fascinating, much like the woman herself. | December 11, 2009 | N/A | |||
| Pandorum - R | If you liked Aliens/Event Horizon/Sunshine/Serenity/Farscape then you will probably enjoy this film. Great cast, acting and a good quality film overall. Only down side - not a lot of (or any that I could spot) originality in plot. While the concepts were borrowed and it did lend to predictability it was a thoroughly enjoyable film from start to finish. | December 10, 2009 | N/A | |||
| Blood Creek - R | December 8, 2009 | N/A | ||||
| Astro Boy (AstroBoy) - PG | Finally a remake of a beloved childhood show that doesn't make me want to stab myself. Animation is childlike (and not as good as one would expect) and the voices are, at times ill-fitting with the characters. Otherwise, the storyline is good, the characters are fairly true to form and it makes a lovely reboot of the characters. A thoroughly enjoyable film and quite suitable for kids - which keeps nicely in line with the original series. And yes, they kept the rear cannons. :) | December 3, 2009 | N/A | |||
| Laid to Rest - R | A hard one to rate. One of the goriest films (probably the goriest) I have ever seen. Very effective special effects. Wow, so very much gore! | December 2, 2009 | N/A | |||
| The Thaw - Unrated | Not even so bad it's good. It's just so bad it shouldn't be on film. The evil proto-botflies can just have Val Kilmer and his offences against the small screen. Not a single redeeming feature in this film. | December 1, 2009 | N/A | |||
| Saw VI - R | Somewhat intense and gruesome. Let's just assume I am deeply understating. | December 1, 2009 | N/A | |||
| Zombieland - R | So much fun it should be illegal. | November 30, 2009 | N/A | |||
| Where the Wild Things Are - PG | It was interesting but possibly a little too clever for it's own good. Every film, intentionally or otherwise, has a target market and unfortunately this one has a fairly obscure one. I pity the small children whose parents unwittingly inflicted life long trauma by taking them to see this. | November 30, 2009 | N/A | |||
| Paranormal Activity - R | An hour and 25 minutes of a couple bickering before anything actually happens, in a film only an hour and 39 minutes long (including credits). Truly this film is the poster child for reality television. | November 30, 2009 | N/A | |||
| Gamer - R | November 30, 2009 | N/A | ||||
| The Road - R | November 27, 2009 | N/A | ||||
| The Twilight Saga: New Moon - PG-13 | Not as bad as critics are claiming. There's some fun action sequences and though the CGI is on a shoestring budget it's not too shabby. The story was (wisely) seriously condensed from the book but is still longer than you'd expect. If you didn't like the books or the first film it's pointless going to this unless you like to complain. | November 22, 2009 | N/A | |||
| The Fourth Kind - PG-13 | November 20, 2009 | N/A | ||||
| Michael Jackson's This Is It - PG | November 20, 2009 | N/A | ||||
| Daybreakers - Unrated | November 20, 2009 | N/A | ||||
| Moon - R | Excellent sci-fi and an all round excellent film. Acting is impeccable and it's nice to see a film where plot and character are showcased rather than overblown action sequences and special effects. | October 30, 2009 | N/A | |||
| Surrogates - PG-13 | Very enjoyable. Good acting, effects, plot etc. Though the plot borrowed extensively from Asimov's Foundation series it would make a fitting tribute to his themes. | October 30, 2009 | N/A | |||
| G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra - PG-13 |
It's shiny, full of explosions, special effects and future tech and yet it still bored me within a hair's breath of lobotimised, drooling coma state. The CG humans in the action sequences reminded me of the classic stop animation of Gumbi. The plot was dull run-of-the-mill stuff. The characters shallow and poured out of an over-used mold. Actors performances are wooden at best and painfully awkward to witness at best. Add in the raping of a beloved childhood series and the mutilation of its plots, characters and themes and you have a really effective torture device. It's hard to believe that with the budget it had, this film could be such a complete miss. The only fitting ending to this flick would be a Monty Python meets Pink Floyd moment where all the characters are kicked into a giant meat grinder. |

| 9 - PG-13 | Enjoyable and gorgeous to watch with a wonderful collection of "voices". My only point of confusion lies in what age group they are targeting. | October 15, 2009 | N/A |
