One of my favourite Stanley Kubrick films.
Terrifying (in a very farsical and hilariously silly (Peter Sellers does, afterall, play 3 roles) way) socio-political commentary on the paranoia, and the ridiculous, megalomaniacal, and grossly unnecessary competitiveness that was the cold war era arms race / nuclear race / space race (/ doomsday machine race, lol ;) between the USSR and the USA.
The direction was AMAZING, the acting was superb (definately one of Sellers' best roles), and the storyline and script were brilliant, clever, and very funny (Best quote in any movie, ever - "Gentlemen, you can't fight in here! This is the War Room")

Some would say "the greatest love story ever told" I go one up on them and say "the greatest story ever told" (oh shite, that was the bible, wasnt it?) ok, scratch that... this is without a doubt my favourite movie of all time, i have a recurring fantastical dream of how much more mind-bogglingly awesome it wouldve been if it was not only written, but also directed by quentin tarrantino!!! great script, awesomely awesome cast, this movie is perfect in anyway - to quote the masterchef baldy who looks like white jacob zuma "if this movie was a man i would take it behind a shed and make sweet beautiful love to it"

ok, so i once tried to read the book "heart of darkness", cos i love this movie so very very very much, but it was mind-numbing, so i gave up and read something less so, like war and peace or something ;D this movie is incredible though!!! INCREDIBLE!!! the storyline keeps you on the edge of your seat, the acting is superb, abd the cast is one of the best in history - possibly only beaten by the movie which came before this one ;D, and ff coppola directs like God would if he was a director... i love this movie, and i definately rate it as the best movie ever made, and one that i believe everyone should watch before they die...
