Generally pretty good, but definitely undermined by Paranormal Activity which was released a tad earlier and has many plot- and stylistic similarities. To its credit I did enjoy the somewhat unique split-video stylism, but much like Paranormal this flick didn't scare me at all, always a bummer for a "scary" movie.

SMALL SPOILER ALERT: I thought the "angry Nome sheriff" subplot was dumb and didn't make any sense in the context of the story, given all the witness- and hard evidence that had been gathered. This speaks to some weak writing IMO.

How have I never heard of this before?

The only thing better than revenge is elaborately planned revenge... I love movies that make me root for a bad guy.

Will the day ever arrive that I can't re-watch this?
