Let's get it straight: books are always better than the movie. Hate Twilight? Then... you'll probably find this a guilty pleasure. Many males in my theater and a 57-year old husband behind me were enthralled--totally into it! But if you're not into a love story with action and kick-ass wolves and vampires then don't bother.

New Moon is meant to be deeper than Twilight so you either "get it" or you don't. I admit I had really lofty expectations considering this is my favorite book in the series, and most nit-picky issues are forgivable because they are minor and don't detract from the experience. Kristen and Taylor nailed their Bella/Jacob scenes together and that is very important. New Moon is a harder movie to do anyway considering the amount of emotional outpour the book offers.

The only major downer for me is that some of the lines and Robert's acting in this film bothered me... I don't know, he just seemed too stiff and emo--even for Edward. Kristen's acting is MUCH improved and I know she'll be even better in Eclipse. Taylor pretty much steals the show as Jacob--the kid *IS* Jacob and does my favorite character a great deal of much-needed and much-deserved justice. Everyone in the volturi coven were amazing as well--Michael Sheen is the perfect Aro.

All in all extremely pleased and can't wait for June!!!!

Probably the best film ever made, not only because of the tremendous critical praise, but also because of the large faithful following it gathered. And if it's not given top prize from ALL critics, it is at least in their Top 10. The first time I saw it I was 14 and even then, as immature as I was, it hit me hard. It was immediately my favorite movie and has stayed so for ten years. It's pure perfection.

Completely blew me away and solidified Russell Crow as my favorite all-time actor. There is nothing the man can't do. He deserved the Oscar for this film, I haven't taken the Academy seriously since they snubbed him of his award. Ron Howard, thanks for making this.
