La Cité des Enfants Perdus (The City of Lost Children) 5.0 Stars
I've wanted to watch this film for along time, and over easter I finally got the opportunity to see it.
Although this film is in French, it is pretty well dubbed in english. The whole film is incredible. I loved every little detail in the scenery and the actors were brilliant.
Again this film was quite weird, but I love that sort of thing. Anyway in this small town, ever so often children are stolen. Thoses that aren't stolen are clever enough to stay in hiding.
So when a circus arrives, a child goes missing, and a strong man looses his little brother and goes off in search to find him. It's great.

The Devil's Backbone (Espinazo del diablo, El) (2001,  R)
The Devil's Backbone (Espinazo del diablo, El) 5.0 Stars
The Devils Backbone is a fantantastic film and is now in my top films list.
It's in the same field as Pans Labyrinth, in that it includes stuff about the spanish civil war. But other than that, they aren't the same.
It's easy to follow the subtitles and the pictures are done really well. It's a lovely story, where those that should be laid to rest are very much in the present. And it's all about sorting out whats wrong and correcting the damage. I recommend this film to anyone. Don't be put off by the fact it's in a different language.

Spider (2003,  R)
Spider 4.5 Stars
Spider is a film that guides you into the life of a person suffering with a mental illness. It is based on a book, although somethings have had to be changed, in order for the audience to understand.
We see the character arrive back to his childhood area, (he came from an asylum), to stay at a half way house. There we get to see into his childhood, as he unravels the mystery as to why his mum died.
Ralph fiennes plays the main character and is brilliant at it.
I thoroughly recommend it to anyone.
