I saw this film in it's entierty for the first time in a theater recently. Purely magicial, and Judy Garland's performance is one of my favorites in the history of cinema. I have a feeling though if I would watch this story anywhere else it would annoy me, but along-side the visuals it works.
Still could have been better, but still...it's WATCHMEN! Zack Snyder's style is finally good for something, minus some brief hiccups this is a great film. Dare I say it (sorry Kenneth): this is superior to The Dark Knight and Batman (1989). A changed ending works better than the book's original ending. The opening credit sequence is somewhere between brilliant, and TOO clever and too showy. Famous music that are staples in American pop culture are used may turn some away at first. I will try to see this two more times.
Ever since I first saw this film when I was young, I felt like something was missing from the film. Hell, maybe there is still something missing, but I don't care. I LOVE this movie. Transformation scene is one of finest scenes in motion picture history.
