The Matrix Revolutions
R
Watch it... if you want to see a visually and technically outstanding conclusion to the Matrix trilogy, including an apocalyptic, epic battle between the machines and the forces of Zion that makes previously filmed apocalyptic, epic battles look like minor skirmishes in slow motion.
Avoid it... if you expect the finale to keep you as mentally or emotionally engaged as the first and second act did, for Revolutions is as inept at coming to convincing logical conclusions as it is in making you care about its characters.
The Matrix Reloaded
R
Watch it... if you want to see a smarter, trendier, visually and emotionally more complex, and ultimately more interesting film than the original, while still retaining the same look and feel.
Avoid it... if you found the first film to be already stretching your ridiculous-o-meter, for in addition to being better on almost all fronts than the original, The Matrix Reloaded is also several degrees more ridiculous.

Watch It... to see the greatest of all courtroom dramas; a film more about morality and the Constitution than about any single verdict. Avoid it... if you are somehow opposed to the sanctity of human life, or if you haven't the attention span to go 90 minutes in a movie without gunshots or explosions.
2001: A Space Odyssey

Watch it... if you miss the days when space was a place of majesty and mystery, where the future of mankinds' destiny among the stars was filled with mysteries both wondrous and incomprehensible. Avoid it... If you think that science fictions recent replacement of mysterious expanse with hyperdrives and laser guns is a true and genuine improvement.
