| National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation - PG-13 |
It's Christmastime for the Griswolds. A season for giving, for Yuletide carols, for Christmas tree lights glowing brightly...hey, wait, this one's not glowing. IT'S ON FIRE! And no holiday could ever before be deeply touching. At home Clark's a disaster waiting to happen while his family prepare for their seasonal celebration, but things never run smoothly for them as his bad luck is worsened by his annoying family guests. All he wants is a quiet old-fashioned holiday time while Clark manages to keep going knowing that his Christmas bonus is due soon. Directed by Jeremiah S. Chechik, National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation features great acting performances from the following cast: 1.) Chevy Chase (Clark) 2.) Beverly D'Angelo (Ellen) 3.) Juliette Lewis (Audrey) 4.) Johnny Galecki (Rusty) 5.) Randy Quaid (Eddie) After seeing the Griswolds conquer Walley World in Vacation and Europe in European Vacation, they're now preparing a good holiday time that made me laugh off silly during the accidental but memorable holiday mishaps. There is the blinking 25,000 lights brightening the home. A Christmas tree is burning. How about that badly cooked turkey on the dinner table, too? Now that's a real embarrassing turkey I'm talking about, and I find that hilarious. The animated opening preceding the live-action Griswold scenes is nicely drawn on cel, which I find it great to open a great holiday film. Every time December comes I'll go ahead and watch this Christmas Vacation so I can enjoy the fun of it. If you think the real holidays would get any better with all the comedy going around, watch it...YULE love it! |

| Santa With Muscles - PG | Usually I see Santa as a big jolly guy with a big white beard who likes to have kids sit on his lap at the mall. Seeing him with muscles is another thing, though, just like in this 1997 family-friendly holiday flick featuring pro wrestler Hulk Hogan. When the St. Bartholomew Mission is about to be shut down for good, the only miracle to save it from a group of mad scientists who want to mine the place underground is Blake Thorne. While the plot seems slow for me up to the ending, at least I liked it. BONUS: I was surprised that two That '70s Show stars appear here - Don Stark and a young Mila Kunis. :) | December 24, 2009 | N/A | |||
