Five random facts (about me, movies and my relationship with movies):
1. I hate, repeat HATE, happy endings, although that does not effect my liking or disliking of the movie, but I don't feel myself connected with the movies with happy endings ... after all life is a tragedy ;) 2. I do not watch foreign films with sub-title even if I do not understand what the character is delivering. I try to guess the way it is acted. This also keeps me fully attentive to the movie. Subtitle take me to a very higher level of irritation. (just for the record, English is also not my primary language). 3. Story-line is probably the least thing I pay any attention to. If I am watching a movie with a twisting end, and somebody tells me that as a spoiler, it has no effect on my enjoyment of watching that movie. 4. Extreme close-ups are my personal favorite shots as much as the Long shots. I enjoy both equally. Natural light shots are more favorite to me, along with the in-to-out door [where camera is indoors shooting at the talent interacting with outdoor environment or transitioning from outdoors to indoors]. 5. I don't dislike explicit and bold direction, no matter how gross it can be. I never throw-up or slide forward (skip) any scene, and equally enjoy watching all kind of blood, gore, goth, gross, sex, filth etc. as much as scenes without these talents. 6. (Bonus fact): While watching the movie, in the my thoughts I keep on arbitrary comparing myself and the director and trying to conclude "If I'd be directing this, would I'd be creating something like this?" Probably this is the reason that story-lines do not bug me much, and no spoiler is actually a spoiler for me. |

1.
Pink Floyd - The Wall
R
Amazing music, lighting, extras, direction, making, scale ... everthing. Especially the animations are out-of-this-world considering made back in early 80's ... and sure its a very super try. FOR SURE ONE OF MY ALL TIME FAVOURITES ...
3.
The French Connection
R
It will make you concentrate all through the moview time .... probably one of the finest crime movies ... and is true story as well
5.
Chinatown
R
Another one of my all time fav.s ... Another movie of the 'great-movie-year-of-all-times' ... a must watch ... especially for Jack's fans.
6.
Paths of Glory
Unrated
One of the earlies works by Kubrick and what an amazing project it was. Extremely even and perfect shots, probably setting the standards, as per Kubrick's reputation. I specially like the starting marching scene sequence and love the details in it.

Red Eye
by JackWith the action confined to a cramped passenger jet for most of the film's running time, there's no room for the kind of relentlessly over-the-top action that many Hollywood thrillers peddle. Instead, Craven and screenwriter Carl Ellsworth keep the focus purely on the power-play between Jackson and Lisa, keeping the tension high, and never lingering for too long before moving on to the next suspense set-piece.
The director's aided in his task by the excellent work of the two leads, with Rachel McAdams proving that she can carry a movie as she portrays a realistic and three-dimensional character without becoming an action heroine stereotype. Murphy also excels, managing to be convincingly charming in the early scenes and resisting the urge to chew the scenery once Jackson's menacing agenda becomes clear.
The script exploits the surreal nature of a life-or-death situation taking place in such a banal environment (most notably, when Lisa is menaced by Jackson in the airplane toilet, and one of the hostesses misinterprets it as an attempt to join the Mile High Club), while the efficient direction pastes over the more obvious holes in the plot.
Sadly, Red Eye eventually falls prey to the kind of overblown climax that unseats many Hollywood suspense thrillers. In the same way that Speed faltered once it left the famous wired-to-explode bus, the film doesn't quite recover from letting the characters leave the confines of the plane, and opening out into a more traditional action thriller environment.
Thankfully, it's still sensible enough to play the more ridiculous moments with its tongue firmly in cheek (thanks largely to the entertaining Jayma Mays as Lisa's mousy co-worker at the hotel). Even an extended sequence that's essentially Craven re-treading ground from the Scream movies can't completely derail what remains a surprisingly tense and satisfying thriller.Hey, you should really see this!
