The Lord of the Rings - The Fellowship of the Ring
PG-13
Amazing cinematography, New Zealand is a stunning landscape for Middle Earth, people said it couldn't be done, but Peter Jackson has proved them wrong.

Kung Fu Panda
by LadyAfter a bit of a slow start, this film really comes to life about half way through, the animation of course was great, Jack Black's voice completely matched the main character and the ideas and choreography that went into this film was quite something.
This feature length cartoon really has captured something from the Martial Arts movies and with clever little morals for the young ones to catch on to. Kung Fu Panda was a really enjoyable film. One for the kids (adults too?)

Wanted
by LadySome really impressive effects in this film throughout. Well done to James McAvoy for landing this role, of which he played the main character well. The storyline was more impressive than some other graphic novels, despite a lot of it being pretty predictable.
Angelina jolie didn't really put any kind of stamp on it, other than pretty action chick.
Overall a very enjoyable action flick and again, impreesive effects, not sure how much of that came across better as it was on the big screen.Hey, you should really see this!

Frailty
by LadyOne of my favourite films and one of the best film twists ever.
A sinister tale, well written and put together well, I never tire from watching this and never fail to be impressed.
To anyone who hasn't watched this film yet, you really should.Hey, you should really see this!

Outlaw
by LadyA great gritty British vengeance film, where vigilantes take a stand against the bullies in society.
Just when I thought Sean Bean was past his prime, he pulls off a part that suits him really well.Hey, you should really see this!

The Code
by Lady(Known in the UK as La Mentale) One of the best Gangster style films I've ever seen. Fantastic performces all around especially from Samy Naceri, this had a very realistic feel to it.
A definite recommendationA brilliant film for those who like their sub-titled films.

White Noise
by GeaninePretty damn creepy! Love the fact that it was not the usual in-your-face kind of horror movie, but rather it transformed every day technology into a source of menace and malevolence. The ending though it has to be said WAS a little hokey :-)

Mixed Nuts
by GeanineThis comedy was SO disappointing! Everything about it from the storyline to the acting was lame. I kept wanting to switch it off, but it was a bit like watching a car crash - I could not wrench my gaze away from the horror!
Seriously though if anyone disagrees with this review please tell me WHY! LOL.Hey, you should really NOT see this!

Smokin' Aces
by LadyWow, what a film! The content is so busy, that it really is hard to keep up with the plot and I?m sure will need a few more viewings before I fully understand it all. The Director has managed to capture a Tarantino style film with the well developed characters and the build up, whilst maintaining a realistic approach within the films boundaries.
This film was an instant hit with me and I?m sure it will be for many others too.Hey, you should really see this!

The Basketball Diaries
by LadyThe Basketball diaries takes you on a journey of a drug user from the very beginning and shows the escalation into drug abuse and the crimes comitted to support the habbit. The film lures you into a false sense of security by showing the boys just as juvenile delinquents , not experiencing too many problems, then bang, they're hooked and everything changes.
The end result (in my opinion) is Dicaprio?s finest performance to date and this is why I feel in later years he took on a few films that really didn?t show his acting skills at his best. One particular scene is extremely powerful and emotional.
Based on a true story, this is a remarkable tale cleveryly put together.Hey, you should really see this!

The Pursuit of Happyness
by GeanineOkay, so I will be the first to admit that this movie was a little on the schmaltzy side, but that did not stop me from bawling my eyes out at the end! Even if the storyline DID depend on tugging at the heartstrings quite a bit, I have to confess to having a soft spot for stories where the underdog triumphs in the end.

The Big White
by GeanineThis movie reminded me of a sort of a lesser version of Fargo but even so I thought it was quite good. I especially loved Giovanni Ribisi's character. That man can act the hell out of anything!

Ne le Dis à Personne (Tell No One)
by LadyThis fairly lengthly feature is very well put together, from an enjoyable soundrack, believable acting and storyline which pulls you in emotionally, to a well plotted ended. This film ticks lots of boxes for me and I certainly recommend.
Possibly my favourite French speaking film ? Impressive. For those who do not wish to attempt the sub-titled films, please just delete. Others, although slightly drawn out, this is a great film.
