| Star Trek - PG-13 | this was a great movie not just a great trek movie. i was scared going into this that i would be lost or not follow the whole back story considering im not a big trek fan but was amazed to find out i followed the whole thing. abrams made this very easy to follow for non trek fans and that is why i enjoyed it so much it was awsome to see the old characters acted out with new faces, but how abrams let people who havent seen all the movies or even watched alot of the shows feel like they did. | Avatar - PG-13 | An Absoulute masterpiece from start to finish, obviously the visual effects were the main draw here and they were on full display. Although the cast was a little mix matched they actually played there roles rather well, though some might say the dialogue came across a little rough, i think this is only because, at first glance, we see this as a visual display with the plan to awe, and that will keep us distracted from the acting so we tried to find all the dips we could. I found this movie a blast to watch and i really recommend paying the additional money to see it in 3d it makes the characters and visuals that much more enjoyable. Only draw i can come up with is that the "bad guy" came across more as a bumbling cook with a gun rather then a heartless killer but its a tiny bump that really cant take much away from this experience | December 18, 2009 | N/A | |||

Finally, another kids movie that i can be scared of. I loved the nightmare before christmas and corpse bride for their dark story telling, but as of late no animation has dared tried this genre for a long time. But i definetly thank Tim Burton and crew for another childrens movie that i will probably have nightmares over. The story does faulter in some spots and the ending could have been drawn together better but still a great fantasy type movie to check out.
P.S. Some of the characters in this movie are some of the creepiest i have ever seen created and the lighting and movement are excellent in again a very creepy way. Seeing this in 3d will make it even more vibrant but is not neccesary to enjoy the wonders of this film. (If you dont feel like wearing those cardboard glasses for almost two hours.) |

| Blast! - R | first of all this is a b movie with no intention of being a blockbuster, so the acting and effects will be a little under par but the action and comedy in this film are pretty decent. although eddie griffin is more of a funny man he pulls this role off in my opinion because he tries to act like a bruce willis character in die hard by being the action hero with the comebacks to boot. breckin meyer as the goofy sidekick was a plus as well. i was a little let down by vinnie jones because i am a big fan but he did a decent job overall. not a movie you will probably watch again but it deserves to be checked out at least once. | June 8, 2009 | N/A | |||
| Taken - PG-13 | loved this movie! Been awhile since wehad an action film like this, and by that i mean it had the hardcore scenes but was very subtle about them. Good to see liam neeson back in a good film seraphem falls was kinda a letdown. But i tell you what the had to had combat was where this movie really took off it all looked real and brutal. although liam's character held a calm persona through pretty much the whole thing, you can still see the desperation to find his daughter especially when you see him visit a old friend at his home. | Crank 2: High Voltage - R | okay, first of all lets through out the logicical stuff pertaining to this movie thats not what this is about, this film is not suposed to make sense or anything. I do like how this time around they foucused on comedy a little more and it gave the fight sequences more flavor and jsut made the movie feel even more rediculous but in a good way. having an r rating this time around was crucial as well, chev was able to be himself free from watching laugage etc. word of warning for those of you whose stomachs turn easy or do not prefer vulger situations you may want to avoid this entirely. the filth in this movie is outragous, from a thug getting a shotgun up the ass to chev screwing his girlfriend in the middle of a horse track laugage and images of harshness abound. the only thing that kept crank 2 from getting a hogher rating is that the ending was too short and plain believe it or not it jsut ended with you going wtf, but over all a decent way to waste ones extra dollars no real big complants. | April 19, 2009 | N/A | |||
| Fast and Furious - PG-13 | Although much more story than race the fourth installment deliveres in more than one way. Having both paul walker and vin diesel back in action along side each other is great but the reunion was kinda dry but the race between the two and the catchy come backs are great. The stories are easily and simply connected by lines from the first movie and (not to spoil anything) scenes in the intro to tie in the third the second has really nothing to do with the fourth. I can see how many would find the races bland and the cinematography very cheesy but still they are full of energy. Overall having the whole cast back makes this film a hit nio matter what you found to be fun.
