My Favorite Movies

1
Little Miss Sunshine (2006,  R)
Little Miss Sunshine
A really well done movie that placed Abigail Breslin on the map. The movie starts out slowly and later progresses into one of funniest movies I have ever seen. The acting well done and shows a story with every character. My only gripe with it was the fact that the ending could have been a lot more satisfying. After seeing this, Abigail has become one of my favorite actors along with Steve Carell

Saving Private Ryan (1998,  R)
Saving Private Ryan
The opening scene of the Allies' invasion of Normandy Beach was the most action packed adrenaline pumping beginning to a movie I have ever seen. After all the gore, the story begins to branch out. The acting in the movie was well done and it can evoke some tears. My favorite war movie to date.
3
Full Metal Jacket (1987,  R)
4
About a Boy (2002,  PG-13)
About a Boy
A really great comedy with Hugh Grant (Music and Lyrics), Toni Collette(Little Miss Sunshine), Nicholas Hoult and Rachel Weisz. Toni Collette and Nicholas have an amazing chemistry on screen and so do Hugh and Nicholas. The story wove together, although somewhat predictable. Easily my second or third favorite comedy so far
5
The 40 Year Old Virgin (2005,  R)
6
Crash (2004,  R)
7
Hotel Rwanda (2004,  PG-13)
Hotel Rwanda
Don Cheadle makes yet another hit! The movie is based on Paul Rusesabagina, the assistant manager of the Mille Colline, a hotel in Rwanda. The movie is based off the struggles of Rusesabagina, played by Cheadle, as he struggles to keep both Hutu and Tutsi refugees. At that time, there was a civil war between the Hutu and the "cockroach" Tutsi's. Cheadle plays Paul in such a credible way that you sympathize for the character. The fact that this actually happened adds more sadness to the already gripping story. Hotel Rwanda hits the heart in more ways than one. The only complaint I have with this was that it was too vivid for my eyes.

Hot Fuzz (2007,  R)
Hot Fuzz
Simon Pegg and Nick Frost make this a really well done comedy. The story was well done, yet random at most times. Like many of my favorite comedies, it brings back jokes or snippets from the movie, such as the Point Break bit. It's not necessarily the funniest movie I've seen, but it's one hell of a joy ride
9
Black Hawk Down (2001,  R)
10
Gladiator (2000,  R)
11
Mulan (1998,  G)
12
Forrest Gump (1994,  PG-13)
13
Transformers (2007,  PG-13)
Transformers
The acting is awfully well done for a sci-fi flick. The comedy is well placed, but can be a little excessive since it outweighs the action.
