Inglourious Basterds - R If ya not a fan of subtitled films ya may aswell stop reading now. For the rest of ya this is another treat from the legend that is Quentin Tarantino. This time he takes us to Nazi occupied France and tells the story of Shosanna Dreyfuss as she is the only survivor when the rest of her jewish family are murdered by the SS under the leadership of Colonel Hanz Landa, played by Christoph Waltz, who for me was the star of the show with a cracking performance. He wont win best actor at the oscars, but if it was up to me id give him the award. Brad Pitt is the leader of 'The Basterds', a bunch of Jewish soldiers who's only mission is to kill and scalp Nazi soldiers. With as usual the great dialogue and dark wit associated with Tarantino's work thrown in to accompany the great acting and set pieces, this is a joy for any Tarantino geek (like me). Sit back relax, get out the bier und frankfurters and enjoy. December 8, 2009

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince - PG Gutted, i was really looking forward to this, especially after the last 3 parts been quite good. This has got to be the worst of the lot so far, and ok i havent read the books, but it seemed pointless. Wasnt all bad, as usual the visuals, special effects and locations were breathtaking. But thats were it ends, ok noticibly Daniel Radcliffs acting is getting better by the film, he isnt the greatest on the planet is he. To think this was gonna be J.K Rowlings final Harry Potter book before pressure from the fans got her off her arse to write Deathly Hallows. It starts at a reasonable enough pace with 3 death eaters destroying a bridge in London and making a general nuicance of themselves. After that for the next 2 and a half hours i was telling myself dont turn it off it will get better, sadly it didnt. Like i say i havent read the books and probably never will, but wasnt there anything in the book that kept you gripped to carry on reading it. Coz the film didnt make u want to carry on watching. When putting a book onto screen, you have to add one vital ingredient, and thats ENTERTAINMENT. Sadly this never delivered any. Thank god it was only 6 quid, after watching it, thats all it was worth. Tosh. December 7, 2009
