I got this movie off Netflix just out of curiosity. It's actually a good movie, that is, if you don't mind reading the English subtitles (the movie is in German). For some reason, the director's comments were included, and I couldn't find out how to make them stop, but in the end it was actually helpful. This movie gives you some insight into Hitler's final days in the bunker at the end of the European campaign in World War II. A "must" for WWII/history buffs.
This was a good movie, but unfortunately it left out a lot from the book. I realize that they couldn't include everything from the book (the movie is already like 3 hours long), but there are some key elements they could have included that would have helped the story make more sense, especially to those who haven't read the book. I mean, they could have at least told WHY Snape is called the "half-blood prince." This movie acts as a good lead-in to "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows," which is supposed to be divided into two movies because "Deathly Hallows" is such a long book. Hopefully the next two movies will tie up all the loose ends "Half-Blood Prince" leaves out. My suggestion: Read the book before you see the movie--or even after you see the movie; it will make much more sense if you do.
This was a cute movie. The 3-D effects weren't all that great (at least I didn't think so). Actually the 3-D effects for the previews at the beginning were better than those in the movie! But still it was a good movie overall. I'd recommend it.
