He's Just Not That Into You
PG-13
Cutesy and entertaining at first, however - this film completely lost its stones in the last act when Long's character, whose simple, no-nonsense principles are allegedly the basis of the story, falls for Goodwin's character. That being said, most of the ensemble cast does a good job (it even has Kris Kristofferson in a small role, how 'bout that?), although I will say that I really could do without ever seeing Connelly or Johansson on screen again. I used to think that perhaps it was just their characters, but lately I'm thinking it's them...
Die Hard

Rickman is pretty good and Willis does ok, although his character is just a re-hash of Harry Callahan (and I can live with that). Oh, and don't forget Reginald VelJohnson is in it, remember him? Die Hard completely raised the bar and set a new standard for the action genre (thereafter known as "Summer Blockbuster"). In fact, in the two decades that followed it, the common descriptor for action films was "Die Hard on a [train/plain/boat/etc.]." But DH's most enduring legacy: Yipee Kai Yay.

Inspired by her minor league player brother, Nancy Dowd's script does a beautiful job capturing the insanity of 70's hockey. A must for any hockey fan. Not for sensitive ears. (Newman did all of his own stunts - and he was 51 when they filmed this.) One of my top 3.
Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back

"...Empire had the better ending - Luke gets his hand cut off, finds out Vader's his father, Han gets taken away by Boba Fett - it ends on such a down note. That's what life is, a series of down endings. All Jedi had was a bunch of muppets."
